They seem to allow bland, family-friendly comedy and comedy which has a an edgy appearance but oddly pushes an establishment political line. Stewart Lee is like this too. Pretty good, seems to be all angry and outraged, which is funny. But he's only allowed to be like that because he has the correct views already so there's no real risk of airing him. Just imagine someone like Boyle or Lee who questioned immigration policy, or gender identity, or whatever.
