As a kid I heard "ghost horses" on a road where we lived(a family with horses just happened to live at the end of it) and I got a book detailing everything paranormal, from Blavatsky to those "pipes" found in a cave in Asia, and collected monster cards and everything. Then at some point a rationality switch flipped in my head, I started seeing all the cracks in the stories and I ceased being a kid, and so much mystery and wonder went out of the world.

The closest I've come to being really spooked by something "paranormal" that many people report on was when I had my first sleep paralysis episode thanks to taking sleep medication. After having experienced them first-hand I can't fucking believe there's people who think they're being visited by aliens or ghosts when they happen. I even got out of my first one by realising that my dog was lying at the end of my bed and since he wasn't reacting everything was obviously fine, and I can replicate it any night I wish by simply falling asleep on my back. The last time it happened I got so incredibly pissed at being stuck in one again that I woke myself up from sheer anger.
