to be fair, during the first few seasons before Family Guy was canceled, that kind of "quick cut to random 80's reference" humor was new. It's not just that I poured over the data or anything; after a few years away from the show, I started casually watching it on weekdays on Adult Swim. After about a month I saw like 3 different episodes that went exactly like this:
Peter or Lois runs into an old ex
They hit it off, and it seems like this ex is just the perfect person for them
Then they turn out to be crazy lol
Cleveland Show also did this before I think.
I mean, I laughed at the jokes sometimes. Mostly the meta ones or when they'd just say weirdly specific stuff about life. And Meg jokes are still kinda funny.
That's another one - the episodes where Meg starts to be happy and then realizes that she shouldnt be.
