I haven’t seen goodfellas. Is it as good as people make it out to be? Is it, kino?

it's exactly like being in the mafia
One of the best movies of all time. If you haven’t seen it you’re doing yourself a complete disservice. Watch Casino and Wolf of Wall Street after
Explain your answer please friendo
it's ok first time
6/10
flashy distracts you from weak plot and bad acting
music and funky dialogue keeps you entertained but it's paper thin
It's good. But americans hype the ever-loving-fuck out of their "crime dramas"
*flashy direction
>tried to watch this with my cousin and a friend
>30 minutes in my cousin asks to change movies because he thinks its boring and too long
>my friend agrees
>we put on some seth rogan shit
>mfw
Fuck off phoneposter
The goat gangster movie. This shot is still unbeaten:

Rude.
yes it is user.
remember to watch while eating pic related
That looks nice friend but may I ask why
what are you reading about? world war 2? or something slightly after that involves the chinese? i dont know.
gets you in the mood buddy
there's a lot of food in the movie.
it's decent, but it doesn't make sense in 2 critical parts and it basically ruins the movie for me
1.) garlic doesn't liquefy
2.) why didn't Tommy just have his mom sew mirrors onto his collar, pop his collar before going to get made, then the laser beam they shot him with would have just bounced off the mirror and killed the guy who shot him instead?
It's a decent movie. It kind of strips off the veneer of romanticism that films like The Godfather had for the Mafia lifestyle, but because of how atomized people are in today's world it still seems very comfy.
It's shit. Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci are shit actors and Robert De Niro is much better in Casino. Donnie Brasco and Godfather 1&2 are far superior. Goodfellas is good if you want screaming "pls give me an oscar" over-acting and a meandering three hour non-plot
it's pure kino
reading up on the korean war!
Ok
>garlic doesn't liquefy
you aren't doing it right user here is a tutorial image
It's a great shot, and Goodfellas is easily one of the greatest movies ever, but I don't know if that's the best shot. Better than either from Boogie Nights or, more importantly Snake Eyes?
This scene got me making my own pasta sauce for years.
did you ever use a razorblade to cut the garlic like this just because?
also did he really put too many onions in? they were small onions he said
It's basically Henry Hill's biopic, all based on supposed truth he told them about his life, as well as info from the FBI. It has that comfy vibe that a lot of '90s movies have. It's easy to watch, funny at times, and serious at others. Typical of Scorsese's work it feels like it comes right from the street, very genuine, with a cool soundtrack and nicely cut. Overall an excellent film.
How is the acting in Goodfellas "give me an Oscar" DiCaprio acting? If anything, De Niro and Liotta are pretty understated and Pesci is doing what he always does.
NIce bro, Just spent all night reading about Korea in the 1800 and when they were forced out of being an isolated country. Korea has pretty crazy history
check out henry hills appearances on Howard Stern. he turned into a very very sad alcoholic. i remember the cast laughing at him because his daughter dated a black guy.
Casino is better.
I'm listening to that right now, he obviously wanted to rant about it but realized it would look really bad because Robin was there.
Casino is definitely not better. It's still great, don't get me wrong; but on a first watch Goodfellas is just more entertaining.
It's a classic, just really cinematic. The cinematography, the shots, the lighting, the acting, the pacing. It's very theatralic but it works.
Still won’t liquefy, dude. No matter how thin you slice it.
