Frieza arc is the only arc of DBZ that is actually good. Less focus on combat and more focus on staying alive and trying finding the dragon balls and its interesting how the dragon balls are always changing hands. Even Vegeta has to pick and choose his battles. Frieza himself is slowly built up to and a lot of the arc is spent trying to avoid direct confrontation with him. So much more refreshing than every other arc of DBZ where people just take turns pulling powerups out of their ass. Then Goku shows up and the arc immediately becomes shit. Fuck DBZ.

Frieza arc is kino, even if the filler parts of the Namek and Saiyan Sagas are boring. Cell arc is also kino, though it never reaches the same peaks as the Frieza arc; the mystery of the Androids, then later Cell, is built up well and Cell himself is cool. Buu arc has its moments in the first half - the intrigue of the new characters during the world tournament is extremely well done and the way the stakes get raised during the Babidi and Buu Sagas is great. Everything during Fusion and Kid Buu Sagas is really bad though. The series officially got ridiculous toward the end.
