Yes I'd say so. If you've perused a lot of SF there's no genuinely new ideas in it, but it's exceptionally well-executed with a great aesthetic, great casting and great acting. There's nothing else on TV quite like it - a very carefully written and complex story that doesn't involve filler episodes and has its own tightly managed logic.

Twin Peaks: The Return is the #1 artistic achievement of TV of all time and IMHO does time travel better than Dark, but only a couple of episodes of TWTR really get into the time travel concept.

If it is bartosz who dies in episode 1, that's a shame, his character hasn't really even done anything yet.

I think it is Bartosz who dies there but we will see his journey to get there. He was enough of a believer to get that tattoo but stopped believing at one point which got him killed. I think Adam might turn out to be a character who doesn't even know about time travel yet for maximum twist.

Midway through rewatching the first season, and it turns out that Peter did mention his origin slightly. Apparently he and his father were estranged somehow and he only moved to Winden in 1987.
Would have to be mid to late 1987 since we didn't see him in any of the 80s scenes in the second season.
