not really. the purpose of clancy's books is to present and reinforce the idea that the u.s. government is a force for good in the world, that its enemies are unquestionably evil, and that its use of violence against said enemies is just, necessary and righteous. he's just a run of the mill government propagandist

My favorite character in the book was the Russian guy who switches sides near the end once he realizes the Horizon people are literally planning mass genocide of everybody except themselves. I wonder who will play him.
