yeah.
drake and josh was overrated, and ned's was too zany. zoey 101 was great though.
however, good luck charlie takes the cake of any live action show on children's networks

Honestly I was expecting a boomer to rage in this thread about how those shows were bad

iCarly and VICTORiOUS were two of the most popular shows on Yea Forums when they originally aired

Attached: 1327827652298.gif (320x308, 2.86M)

Eh if you’re born in late 90s I guess.
Victorious is absolute trash but the others were good.
Ned’s declassified was way better.

Phil of the Future was kino but I think that was disney

Someone at my high school won some contest on a radio station and got Big Time Rush to play a free concert when I was a senior.

icarly was unironically great. BTR was good too

the golden age of nick is whatever was on when you were a kid
it's pure nostalgia goggles

>Nickelodeon Holy Trinity
Sorry bud, that’s objectively Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, and Spongebob Squarepants.

Big Time Rush seemed like mega fag shit

Zoom zoom
The trinity is the originals, Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats and Doug

You were supposed to watch Victorious for the hotties m8, not the plot

God tier:
Ned's
Drake and Josh
Good tier:
iCarly
Bad tier:
Zoey 101
Cancer tier:
Victorious

BASED.

Gen xers older than you would say the trinity is You can't do that on television, Double dare, and mr wizard

Those don’t fit together as nicely and Doug is terrible

I’m not a pedophile, sorry

Nick is comparable to SNL I think, the first version you grew up with is the best.

Nick has apparently been around since the 70s, like SNL, and went through a million different changes over the generations, like SNL.

That's canuck horseshit
True, Doug was the weak link

I really loved phil of the future
This is probably honestly the first time I've seen it mentioned by anyone else since it was airing though.

Before nick had original shows they stole shows from other countries

if you watched any of these shows you are a legit piece of NPC shit.

And cartoon network stole shows from different eras
Maybe disney had original shows from the start

Nah disney also stole shows at first. They realized it wasn't making much money so they started the tween stuff like Lizzie mcguire and Even stevens

The theme song plays in my head way too often and I haven’t even seen the show in many years.

what did Dan mean by this?

Always funny how some jack ass drops this in the thread and doesn't respond once it's contested with the fact that comedy legends used to actually be on the show.

I wasn't talking about current SNL. I was talking more about how people debate 70s vs 80s vs 90s SNL

THIS is the actual golden age
Doug, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Salute your Shorts, GUTS, Hey Dude, etc. were Silver Age
Everything else is bullshit

Boomer here. Nothing holds a candle to The Adventures of Pete and Pete but there were plenty of bad live action shows on Nick throughout the 90s.

Doug was awesome, you cunts.

This is correct, though I would maybe swap in Out of Control for Double Dare. And add Danger Mouse/Count Duckula.

I lived there in the early 90s. A lot of spics even then. Though I remember getting Donatello ice cream with the gumball eyes from the ice cream truck by the beach and also playing the NES game for Jaws at my Mexican friend Jeremy's house

Canadian produced teen horror anthology really needs to make a comeback. R.L. Stine’s Haunting Hour was legitimately great.

Pity about the Spics but can't be any worse then New Jersey which I lived in during the mid-2000's. It was extra-shitty because this is when "Jersey Shore" was at it's height in popularity.

Dan “Don’t Call Me That” Shneider

It was a coin flip with each episode but the second season was their best.

Doug was fine but Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy were funnier. It was kind of boring, but it was more dramatic

Pete and Pete is legit 90s indie spirit kino. The show had great writing and cinematography compared to the much bigger budget soundstage produced, laugh tracked Nick sitcoms of the 2000s. I also like that P&P’s cast actually looked like real kids and not Californian models.

Pfffft fuck no.

Are you Afraid of the Dark.
Legend of the hidden temple.
Doug.
Clarissa Explains it all.
Rugrats.
Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?
Hey Arnold.
Rocko's Modern Life.
Catdog.
Sponge Bob.
All That.
Keenan and Kel.
The Amanda Show.
Then Drake and Josh.
Then iCarly were the last of it.

I remember getting a cassette from the band who sang their theme song ('Polaris' i guess) and listening to it on my Talkboy. Almost positive it was from either Chex or Life cereal proof of purchases and shipping costs. Zoomers will never know this sort of kino.

Carmen San Diego aired on PBS, not Nickelodeon.

Pic related was the best of these teen sitcoms for. Was actually funny and those girls were cute. Although Hannah Montana as a phenomenon was in a league of her own.

These actors were mostly born in like 1992/1993. The late millenial generation were the last for comfy teen sitcoms. I saw some Zoomer shows and they were depressingly souless. They should stick to Youtube challenges or whatever else instant gratification stuff of today.

I wish I could go back.

Attached: 81HpqtEdb4L._RI_.jpg (1600x1200, 364K)

This was end of the golden age. Big time rush was just Nickelodeon trying to be like Disney; with the actors trying to be the next pop artist even miranda cosgrove and jennette made some songs

This. Patty wasn’t the best waifu tho, it probably was beebee. Also as far as overall live nick classics: Clarissa, Welcome Freshmen, Salute your Shorts, and Hey Dude were objectively the best.

I like Jennette, she's cute.

Attached: jennette.gif (512x288, 991K)

It’s funny how Salute Your Shorts seemed like it ran for years when there are actually only 26 episodes.

This is what I've heard from people over the years, is this correct?

1979-1991: Prehistoric nick
1991-1998: Golden age nick (more of an indie feel with shows like Pete and pete)
1998-2005: Silver age nick (some shows still had the old feel like Invader zim and pre-movie Spongebob, but others like Rocket power and Chalkzone were starting to play it too safe according to some)
2005-2016: Dark age/zoomer nick (endless Schneiderverse zoomer sitcoms where little girls backtalk their parents in a "sassay" fashion and stick their toes out on camera, cheap flash cartoons)
2016-present: Reboot age nick (nick rebooting all their old shows to get viewers back)

remember when my nigga Stick Stickly (aka SS) ran reruns of Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Alex Mack, All That, Guts, Clarissa, Doug, Rugrats, What Would You Do, and such week after week in the summer? He was BASED

Attached: SS.jpg (480x360, 20K)

Very accurate. The mid 00s were weird and they were green lighting every piece of crap that Schneider came up with.

Nick never had a proper golden age. Their only truly exceptional show was SpongeBob, and they aired it 23/7 just like Fox does with the simpsons. Even back then I found other shows I watched to be cringy, that includes Ned, Zoey 101, iCarly and the like. Cartoon Network was superior, and I still remember that it started going to shit with Chowder. Fox Kids was also good, but it died long ago.

I'm a fan of her work on YouTube.

Attached: 1544836581821.webm (900x506, 2.97M)

Dan's shows were actually predictable and cringy trash, even his feet scenes sucked, he's too much of a pushover, not subtlety and grace.

SpongeBob is great even though I was aging out of Nick shows when it was in its prime. Most would argue Nick’s golden age was in the 90s when SNICK was at peak popularity.

Nick was never good. Only A:TLA, Zim, Rocco, and Jimmy Neutron were great.

And fuck Klasky Csupo

zoey, d&j and ned were better for me i think.

wait what? kek those kids looked completely different. Budnick’s hair changed from a mullet to a shorter style. Also holy shit I thought Dina was so hot
also in the golden age we were exposed to nick at nite which was on the same channel. so if you were a boomer and could stay up you’d see 50’s-70’s shit like mr. ed, green acres, get smart

my older bro woul dmake fun of me saying it's cheap and how face is better because it's actual animation

So did you like or hate the silver age shows like old spongebob and invader zim

Kenan & Kel is the best sitcom of Nick and that's a fact.

>were starting to play it too safe according to some)
What the fuck was Rugrats? Doug? Can you name more milquetoast, inoffensive shows than those two? That they were juxtaposed next to Ren and Stimpy in the same block blew my mind as a kid and still blows my mind to this day.

christ I hope this is a troll thread

pol incels are such pervs, making this shit and fantazing about BBC porn

Hmm, no
They were all bad desu, two of those were literally "le random funny ecksdee" over and over again made by the same hack and the other was just so forgettable

A nicer trinity would be ned, zoey and drakenjosh but they were just slightly less shit

I think they were the last Nickelodeon shows I actually paid attention to. I’m 35 now so SpongBob premiered when I was sort of aging out of Nickelodeon stuff.

youtu.be/xwjoJkTc4mk

The historiography on the old toonzone forums were:

>Prehistoric (1979-1992)
>Golden Age (1992-1998)
>Silver Age (1998-2001)
>Bronze Age (2001-2004)
>Dark Age (2001-2007)
>Age of Schneider/2nd Dark Age (2007-2014)

DAT BOI LOST WEIGHT WTF

I remember being in middle school and thinking it was retarded that people as old as they were still watched childrens shows like this
Nothing more than preparatory propaganda

iCarly wasn't horrible. The other two are forgettable. Also none of them would be considered "Golden Age" Nick shows.

Attached: 1513229478705.jpg (1012x464, 207K)

I would've extended the silver age till 2005 because Avatar (their last good show according to many) premiered then

It’s crazy how different Pete and Pete is from the crazy hyperactive tone of Dan Schneider shows. Not to be all boomer sounding but I consider it to be a genuine example of soul vs soulless. Pete and Pete was made with real heart on a shoestring budget. Miranda Cosgrove’s per episode salary for iCarly was probably more than the entire budget for several episodes of Pete and Pete.

jimmy is not cancer desu

The early 2000s cartoons were cool, stop being a giga contrarian.

Funny thing is that I distinctly remember people ranting on the late 00s-early 10s stuff like icarly, Hannah Montana, johnny test, Michael Bay transformers, the recession, CN Real, Bieber, brownnbloom games, etc. as being the "downfall into shit era" when they were new. People kept saying "Everything after 9/11 sucks" or "Everything after 2005 sucks" or "Bring back the 90s" constantly on forums and Youtube rants.

But now we've reached the point when Early Zoomers, now teens/college kids, have become the majority of the internet, and they post childhood nostalgia for the once-hated late 00s era (pic related), rehabilitating its reputation.

Attached: 1549127539779.jpg (740x892, 110K)

It was pretty meh, people only remember it for the Hugh memes

I do feel bad for this age group. Not all of their childhood shows were awful but they did get the worst of Nickelodeon for sure.

Shows like Salute your Shorts, and Hey Dude had a few memorable moments.

Literally and unironically the some of the last good shows nick had

I see more 90s nostalgia from late 90s births and early 2000s births than I do from actual 90s kids

You're just saying that because you grew up with them. To those 10 years older than you those shows were bad, or meant nothing to them.

Likewise, while to those your age icarly was bad, to the zoomers a few years younger than you, those shows were good to them because *they* grew up with them. It's an endless cycle.

Attached: 1453702603218.gif (309x159, 2.67M)

>Rugrats
Ugly trash, usually boring
>Doug
Self-deprecating millennial style humor which is probably where the millennials learned it from in the first place
>Ren and Stimpy
Boring "push the envelope" edgefest which only succeeded due to producers cucking the authors
>Rocko
Too slow, nothing ever happens

was this scene kino?

Attached: 1453705992951.gif (268x272, 2.91M)

7 years ago the 90s nostalgia online was driven mostly by the "truuu 90s kids" (born ~83-93), for example all those Buzzfeed articles about the 90s that were huge back then. But eventually that age group got bored of that and aged out of the internet.

Now 90s nostalgia is driven more by zoomers who appreciate "aesthetic crystal pepsi vaporwave", despite them being too young to remember the decade.

No, that would be the early to mid-90s Nick. The end of the golden era began in the late 90s with shit like Cousin Skeet-Skeet. iCarly had it's moments, but the channel has been shit for 20 years.

Attached: zoobooks 2.jpg (500x382, 22K)

If you think that you're a literal zoomer npc. Those stale couch potato disney shows with their knock knock jokes and sassy divas were pure cringe.

kek donkey lips in the back.

Disney’s live action sitcoms were always garbage. They redeemed themselves with decent cartoons like Recess and Kim Possible.

What was the last era with any soul here?

Attached: 1561351062044.png (1400x1039, 3.15M)

I was rating them objectively though, not with any nostalgia glasses on, I mean, you can't tell me that catdog was better than invader zim, or that ahh! Real monsters and the wild thornberrys were better than early jimmy neutron

Probably core Gen X from that pic.

Jesus fuckin Christ no.

90’s nicktoons with Pete and Pete and are You Afraid of the Dark, All That, that news show, etc Snick - was the golden age.

Core Zoomer
>Minecraft is comfy as fuck and still is

That right there is what I mainly take issue with. I’m not saying 90s era Nickelodeon shows were all masterpieces but at least they largely portrayed kids doing normal kid stuff, not leading fantasy lives.

Get GOOing with GOO Punch!

>Back in 2015, zoomers born in 98-99 were universally hated on Yea Forums for being "fake/wannabe 90s kids", the Bieber-loving generation who didn't even remember 9/11, and were firmly shoved into the "First of the new school"

>But now in 2019, zoomers born in 98-99 are universally beloved for being "based Black Ops 2 zoombers" and are the majority of Yea Forums, and try to cram themselves into the "last of the old school"

What happened?

Attached: 1561306463805.png (2830x1247, 1.57M)

It all depends on age but SNICK was great for that personal branding of giving kids their own "for you only" Saturday night lineup. And it always ended with Are You Afraid of the Dark.

I remember the commercial, but I never got the tape.

Damn right.

Attached: me in the back.jpg (625x415, 30K)

Pete and Pete had the most soul for any suburbanite because it had all of the trappings of what living in the suburbs and playing with local legends and curses and lore. The kind of shit you made up as a kid or heard from other kids, your urban legends and whatnot. Hey Arnold did that too with their Brooklyn-setting. Also, Pete and Pete was just weird, and that sticks with you, like the way Big Pete would introduce to you an idea or story.

i was born in 1999 but most of the stuff i remember from child hood is a mix of late gen y and early gen z

time passed and the 99ers dont seem as bad as niggers literally born in 2011

I’d be curious to hear what non-Americans thought of Pete and Pete because it’s very distinctly about 90s suburban Americana. No other show I can think of did a better job of capturing the feeling of summertime as a kid since they shot on location on the east coast as opposed to California.

That's what makes it endearing, it felt real and thus believable despite being out there.

Also, where the fuck is the Wonder Years.

More like kids born in the late 90s are now in college and have become the dominant demographic of Yea Forums.

Early zoomers are still cancerous since they're the ones who have safe spaces in college and protest whenever trump says a thing

No. Because I didn't watch it so I don't care. My nephew loved iCarly though so I watched a few episodes. That blonde chick was funny as fuck. Yeah some jew writer wrote the jokes but she had great delivery. Can't wait for whatever sitcom she ends up on in another 15 years. Shit will be cash.

Ren and Stimpy almost singlehandedly saved real animation on TV (for a few years)

It started with late millennials and has continued into early zoomers

MMMMYYYYYYYY DUUUUUUUUUUDE
One of the most vivid early adolescent boners I can remember is watching the premiere and that scene where she turns into a puddle and then pops up naked behind the model railroad. I had no idea what was going on, I just knew I liked it.

SNICK was the greatest thing ever.

It's interesting how Jake paul, Lil pump, Ninja are the current hate-magnet modern celebrities, similar to how Justin bieber, Fred figglehorn, Soulja boy were 7 years ago. I wonder who the next hated big names will be.

In the reboot, Ray would be fugging Alex.

At least he tried.

I'm not gonna lie, I was so young when this show was airing I remember almost nothing about it, but I could pretty much recite the theme song by heart.
Also Donkey Lips made me giggle every time in that scene from Dude Where's My Car.

Gotta go with Michael. He was more down to earth. Pinskywent on to play a bully on Boy Meets World.

You're a proto zoomer

Who here
> boycotted all live action Disney as a kid
> boycotted all live action Nick
> Overindulged on the various cartoons of CN, Pre-LA Disney and Nick
> Once Nick and Disney were nothing but George Lopez and Reruns swapped to Adult Swim and watched that up to adulthood

Sucks we never got season 3 on dvd. I remember listening to an audio commentary that was on seasons two where they started to talk about the guy who played Artie, the Strongest Man in the World (Toby Huss). The track suddenly cut off randomly as they were telling a story of how close he was the the kids on set. I always wanted to hear the full story. I guess some lawyer at Viacom muted it "for reasons"

I remember this being the poor man's alternative to Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude.

I still own one of those SNIK VHS tapes. Payed $17.99 for it in the 90s. Oddly enough they had no copy protection on them.

I cant believe people look fondly back at this garbage. I always hated the love action shit on nickelodeon, it took time away from the cartoons and they were never good either

Pic related was around for the golden age of nick, however

Yup that's a gay

In about 12 or 14 years, some amateur DJ in a crappy club will play some shitty remix of 'Baby Shark' and the club will go absolutely nuts.

Are these real or just designed to piss me off?
The only good live action was the first 3 seasons od All That. I liked looking at Amanda on the Amanda show but the show sucked.

Nickelodeon was always for strange kids on the spectrum. Boys watched CN and Fox kids. Girls watched Disney Channel.

I watched the first two for the boners but what the fuck is Big time rush?

You know how you watch those 2 for boners? Girls had BTR for their girl-boners.

Girls don't get aroused, they just fake it.

PHIL PHILLLLL PHIL OF THE FUTURE

Zoey 101 > Drake & Josh > Victorious >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shit = iCarly
Also, BTR was forgettable and absolutely terrible all around. They got BTFO by One Direction.

Nope that would be Hey Dude, Salute your shorts and Secret world of Alex Mack

Early gen y culture here. What is it about core gen x culture that's so skippable? I loved the stuff on the early and late gen x culture list but know almost nothing about stuff on the core gen x list.

IT was for Dan Schneider, if you catch my drift

Wtf is any of this shit?
Disney has a whole network of jailbait sitcoms?

No, all that thru drake and josh was the golden age. After that every kids sitcom was marketed towards girls

In a non-weird way, I do watch new kids shows sometimes. Girl Meets World was absolute kino. It made me cry multiple times and I genuinely cared about the characters. All the other zoomer kids shows are shit though.

Pretty much. If your childhood was the early 00s then you're basically a zoomer except you experienced early YouTube culture.

If you remember 9/11, you're a Millennial (or older). If you don't, you're a Zoomer. Simple as.

Agreed, the Nickelodeon I immensely enjoyed growing up is seen as total shit by people older than me.

What's this Bitch babbling about

I remember the ship wars at the iCarly Livejournal Community. Poor Dan was harrased at his livejournal blog by the Seddie Warriors until he deleted it. And finally Seddie Warriors won the war and destroyed the iCarly Livejournal Community as a spoiler of war.
Good old times lol

I didn’t find any Nick show enjoyable.

Dan "Don't call me "Dan The Cunny Collider Schneider"" Schneider

this guy really made that show

When people reach that age, they get nostalgic towards their childhood and ridicule what the kids enjoy, it's a never ending cycle since at least the era when boomers were kids.

For example (while not tv related) my dad grew up with the Beatles and told me that people who were a few years older than him were dissing on them in favor of Elvis.

>Drake and Josh was overrated
literally wrong
the show you're looking for is Friends

Which begs the question, how much did Jennette McCurdy make that she's now doing YT?

I have inside information that Dan regularly browses Yea Forums. He knows all about the Dan memes and actually thinks they're fucking hilarious. I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure he's trolling everyone. Will post proof in a minute

$12,000 per episode at best. Heard she practically lives in poverty now at a basic one-room appartment.

Stop bragging, Dan, and share with us your private feet collection.

I'm a boomer, but I'm more surprised than anything that these shows are already being reminisced about. Weren't all these shows still in syndication like 3 years ago?

We're in a nickelodeon thread, how is it only one person so far brought up Kablam? That was part of my holy trifecta alongside Pete and Pete and Spongebob

What was that live action disney show with the stepbrother and heavy incestual undertones?

iCarly.

I just how sincere late-2000's era Nick was in general. The execs knew the sitcom formula was nearing its apex as a genre, so they decided to go all-out and make shows that, for better or worse, could have been literal live-action cartoons.
iCarly is still, without a shadow of a doubt, the most faithful adaptation of early Internet culture to ever be broadcast to a mass audience.
Victorious has some of the best talent to ever grace a family network, and the sheer joy of its plotlines is on par with those magical girl anime that are always bubbly and cute
Big Time Rush got an easy out for being the first of its kind, and while it's aged the worst out of the three big hits from that time, big props to Nick for giving a true realization of the character differences that most boy bands profited off of. Again, living cartoons.

Personally, I have the most appreciation for The Amanda Show, even if it was from the last era of Nick. That series encapsulates everything good, bad, and in-between about both the network, and just life in general from that period.

It's good that Yea Forums and the Internet are starting to move past nostalgiafagging and are now just appreciating older media for what it accomplished and what came as a result of its creation. That's how legacy media should always be viewed and its good boomers, zoomers, etc. are uniting under one flag

See
You're probably some zoomer born in 1999, no sane person could have this opinion

Wizards of Waverly Place

>jonathan c butler
Is that LaVar Ball?

I mean, I wayched between 13 - 15. (Mostly for Maddie but it was also pretty funny). The younger kids on the show were my age. Of course zoomers watched it but it was also for us, right?

...right?

>SNIK

Sure you do zoomer.

Looked forward to watching that bad boy all week.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Will never be topped as Kid's Horror TV Kino.

I literally don't know what any of those things are aside from a TV show.

I wish I had a pair of British Knight sneakers or light up LA Gears won from Nick Arcade
