Bump

Conspiracy theories aren't fun anymore. They are just actual ravings by people who 100% believe the shit. And tired show is tired.

Chris Carter

did they reboot it again

they refused to expand on it and only cashed in on its history

It should have ended with season 6 and with some tweaking it could have too!

Everything, the script was terrible and the stories were bad, the first season of the reboot was terrible and the second one was below average to say the least.

X-files died after season 7 when Duchovny grew tired of the fucking series and how it was going nowhere, dogget and reyes were just budget scully and mulder, season 8 and 9 were absolute shit too.

Blame Gillian for that because from the 2 of them she was the one who was being a dick the most, she hated David.

7 wasnt terribly bad even though it was basically just a bunch of comic relief episodes.

8 is definitely the decline. Im about to watch 9. What am i in for?

Don't watch season 9, skip everything and only watch episodes 1 and 2, then move to episodes 19 and 20.

After that watch the second movie that is supposed to be the "real" finale.

>What went wrong?
The alien mythology episodes.

>What went right?
The Monster of the Week episodes.

Watching through for the first time, should I bother past the original run?

Both actors are too old and disinterested. Nobody wants to see burnout Mulder and Scully.

The episodes were almost parody level bad.

it shouldn't have been rebooted at all. the entire show should have stopped once mulder got abducted at the end of season 7. everything after that was fucking garbage.

I rewatched earlier seasons and the best episodes are all written by other people.

Binged this while on shrooms, peak scully is definitely season 5.

i just rewatched the show about a month ago and saw this during an episode written by vince

Attached: mpv-shot0003.jpg (1280x720, 122K)

it could have worked if they went in a completely different direction, like reinvented the series with Mulder being an outcast after 2012 not happening and him mainly being a consultant to local PD's and their mysterious cases.

I take it its bad because i hate reyes

>What went wrong?

They didn't go all in on the aliens. They could have built an entire mythos. Instead all the interesting alien stuff took a sideline to dimly lit rooms filled with secret councils; and back alley meetings filled with red herrings leading to goose chases. The entire show is one big case of blue balls.

How can Aliens and Demons exist in the same universe?

Attached: hmmmmmm.jpg (500x414, 61K)

Watch from season 1 to season 7, then watch the first 2 and last 2 episodes of season 8 and 9. After that watch the movie I Want To Believe and that's it.

Throw season 9 and 10 into the trash.

There were a few kino episodes in the reboot. The Werelizard episode (webm related), the Mandela effect episode and the one with the kid's cartoon character as a murderer were great.

Attached: scully_phone.webm (1140x640, 2.99M)

absolutely not. just make sure to watch the first movie between season 5 and season 6, it's actually surprisingly good. don't watch the second movie, it is absolute trash.

They did that with IWTB and it worked. Just the storyline sucked.

Is bad mostly because dogget and reyes are useless characters that try too hard to do the same shit Mulder and Scully did for almost a decade and they fail at it, plus you have a chris carter that ran out of ideas and is just milking the last remnants of the series, thanks to him and how bad season 8 and 9 were, FOX decided to cancel the series once and for all.

That's why after so many years the movie was the real ending for the series, FOX won't invest money on the series again and the reboot is just chris carter trying again to bait the oldfags with the series but he failed, again.

damn. Vince has said he worked a long time on Breaking Bad

Did she really? I thought they had chemistry and all of that?
Are here ANY proper mytharc episodes in season 7?

Remember the episode with the Alien in the kkk?

Demons are just aliens from other dimensions/universes.

>*crack*
Yep, I miss the old lady. Too bad about the breast cancer.
>*sip*

The Show should have ended with season 5 and they should have just made a new movie every two years with Mulder and Scully investigating weird shit with the occasional alien conspiracy one every soo often!!!FACT!!!

>Remember the episode with the Alien in the kkk?

Even aliens hate niggers!!!FACT!!!

Nah, you can do a little research and on every single interview both of them said that working 16 hours a day was something that pushed them to the limit and they started to hate each other, in fact one of the biggest moments when you can see the evidence of that is how after Duchovny received an award and mentioned Gillian as an amazing partner and actress, she went to the stage to receive her own award (both won the same year) and she never, ever said anything like a simple thanks to David.

After that on many other interviews David was always saying that they don't really hate each other but is just that they've been working together for too many years and that's a problem while Gillian was always saying that they really have a bad relationshio, that they hate each other and shit like that.

Another problem was that Gillian wasn't a really well known actress, David was, so he earned the big bucks and Gillian went full retard against him because she wanted to earn the same money. It was all a facade, at least now they can be in the same room and work together.

>chris carter that ran out of ideas and is just milking the last remnants of the series, thanks to him and how bad season 8 and 9 were, FOX decided to cancel the series once and for all.

Wrong. Carter wanted to end the series at 7 but FOX wanted it to keep going because it was still brining in big ratings. They basically told Carter they’d keep the series going with or without him.

I'm guessing in this case that 'going full retard' means employing the muh soggy knees rhetoric big time huh?

>I thought they had chemistry and all of that?
they had good screen chemistry, it wouldn't surprise me at all that they didn't really like each other IRL, they're just actors playing a part and they sold it well.

I honestly dont think so. There's some stuff about moulders sister and the smoking man and moulders mom but i think thats it.

It jumps the shark pretty hard, going into charmed territory at one point.

The stuff in africa was unnecessary imo but it features the usual accomplices in the smoking mans intrigues even if it seemed rushed.

The ending to 7 was appropriate for the series...a movie after would have capped it off well enough. Everything after is window dressing and retcons.

I havent watched 9 but in 8 scully is no longer a skeptic and the chemistry of the show is completely thrown off.

If you arent going to watch everything, just skip to the episodes written by spotniz and chris carter.

Mommy Gillian Anderson ain't too shabby.

Attached: sex_education.webm (720x720, 2.78M)

What else? They decided to use a beloved franchise to push left-wing ideology.

The alien mythology is a lost cause. It makes no sense and never has, it's fucking decade-long wild goose chase that we all know will lead absolutely nowhere.

MOW episodes are always fun and showcase the Mulder / Scully dynamic to its best effect. The reboot should be all MOW all the time.

Holy fuggin shit

Attached: 1561307453897.jpg (407x441, 183K)

This.
Xfiles is constantly trying to hint some big reveals, changes, and nothing ever does, is all fleeting and there's constant retcons, to cite one easy to look up Moulder's sister, what a terrible plot line that went nowhere.

Chris Carter, or whoever can be deemed responsible is a coward. Constantly changing things around, its mythos/lore is as consistent as capeshit and powerlevels, the reboot could have closed it for good, but no, the second movie but no, the second season of the reboot but no instead it did a big whole reboot yet again.

Which is why I think Fringe is the better Xfiles, minimal retcon, manages to mostly maintain an internal consistency, its "monster of the week" episodes actually manage to push forward the character's relationships and the lore, it has an actual end.

Attached: tv_fringe02.jpg (1600x1200, 197K)

Carter didn't wanted to end the series, he was getting paid a retarded amount of money even when season 8 and 9 failed to get the attention of the viewers or even reach the numbers of previous seasons, check what happened with season 9 for example and how Carter and Gillian plamed 9/11 for the low ratings, that was absolutely pathetic. After that FOX pulled the trigger and cancelled the series.

Only half of season's 8 episodes were getting good numbers because what FOX did was getting Robert Patrick in the series right after Terminator 2, it was a bait for the audience but even that didn't managed to divert the attention from the bad writing, how Scully was left in the dark and the absolutely zero presence of Mulder.

Was sixth/seventh extinction or whatever is called the last good mythos arc?
Scully translating the spaceship was kino

I think she honestly reached peak mommy mode during Hannibal Season 3

>The entire show is one big case of blue balls

And anybody who saw the finale of the original series already knew it. Chris Carter already showed us he never knew where he was going, why the fuck would we trust him again?

Attached: diversitayyyy.gif (356x200, 1.93M)

Please user dont talk about that. Its still too painful for me.

the opposite is true. they were fun then, and you met people who believed them and were wacky but interesting.

Nowadays we have learned those conspiracy theories were actually true in a lot of cases, the kennedy stuff bullet in the windscreen, 9/11 is confirmed by saudis and probably at the order of isreal. jews control everything. that kinda thing is all too real now.

This show came out at a time where pizzagate was getting uncovered and people were reading emails from hillary that talked about how killing 2/3 of the earths population was their idea to solve "Climate change"

the show couldnt cover any of that cause it was democrats, and as a result couldnt even get close to reality anymore in terms of exciting premises for the show.

Attached: 1559624060325.jpg (500x500, 40K)

Isn't that the episodes about africa that another user said were pointless?

Yeah but I liked them

They were kinda pointless because right after that Carter threw all the plot line into the trash but they were good because it managed to link everything about the aliens and why are they in the planet plus why the syndicate was doing some shit.

>we will never get season 4 where Hannibal literally eats her ass

it hurts

Attached: sad men.jpg (438x486, 68K)

isn't that the one where mulder is psychic/retarded or something?

tV evolved

Just skip to the very last ep of season 9. Then pretend that's the end of the X-Files.

Attached: scelly.png (844x717, 844K)

>pretend that's the end of the X-Files.
How could anyone do that?

I know the original mytharc was a mess, but to completely retcon it out of existence was lazy and cheap. Also Drumpf references.

How would Yea Forums handle the samantha story line? I'm sorry but I need something more than shes a star/ghost now or something?

exactly why those who claim Supernatural went downhill with heaven and angels aren't exactly right either. If you don't have pay-off with your main mythology like X-Files did, it's equally frustrating in a different manner. You can't have 5+ seasons of a show without any real plot development unless you're doing an anthology. Not that Supernatural did it perfectly--they overused angels especially around season 9, but at least in the early seasons involving angels, there is some semblance of narrative direction. You just have to find the balance.

the end of season 6 was really interesting and it felt like it was going somewhere neat
and then the first episode of season 7 was so fucking retarded and shit all over that
X-Files alien mythology was utterly shit and moronic, it has its moments in season 1 but is still nonsensical

Based. I think there's also something to be said about not overstaying your welcome, if X-Files ended after 100 episodes it would be infinitely better.

Xfiles could have been excused because of the times it lived in, a different time for television, but the reboot isn't.

This is the correct answer

In the 90s it was normal for shows to have 20+ episodes per season so it didn't feel like they were overstaying their welcome. It wasn't like today where shows only have 8-12 episodes per season.

never do that clone stuff
and it shouldn't have been so overdone that they keep coming back to it and have it as Mulder's overriding motivation
have Mulder just find her skeleton in a forest at some point but the skeleton is older than when she disappeared and has had things done to it
thus you get the closure of her death without really answering what happened to her

Came back at the wrong time.

>tfw only watch JOI milf porn

This is prudent to my interests.

I've never been this hard...

Any thoughts on the black oil arc or even the syndicate?

Season 11 finale is completely atrocious and ends on a fucking worthless cliffhanger knowing it won't be renewed again. They also killed off Reyes and Skinner for no reason.

In the final episode it turns out that after the aliens were done experimenting on Samantha they left her with some random family who named her Dana Scully. Cue Chris Carter playing the X-Files theme on the kazoo over the credits.

Why is it so hard to find good dirty talk/encouragement handjob porn without a guys dick being in it.
