The first insidious was a great scary movie and i don't care what anyone says

I'm upset they flooded it with SPOOKY JUMPSCARES but the actual writing, pacing, and most scenes were pretty fucking good.

Every other movie was, of course, garbage and a shitty cash grab. Focusing on the old woman with zero acting skills was also the worst fucking decision.

Jumpscares are based, much better than OMINOUS SPOOKY MUSIC WHILE CHAIRS MOVE

Jumpscare bad

That's still a shitty jumpscare, just over a longer period of time.

Good horror comes in tandem with good writing. There's a reason movies like The Exorcist, Alien, and The Thing have stood the test of time - they're genuinely well written and well executed movies that focus on more than just OH NO SO SPOOOOOKY AND SCARY.

Why does he look Jewish? is the Director anti-semite?

Do you have an actual argument, or are you going to continue shitposting as though it were a substitute for an argument?

I'm certain you haven't even seen half of the films in that image

tryhard faggot you aren't fooling anyone

Reminder that flagrant shitposting is pretty much exclusively from redditors themselves

based dubu poster

my first thought too

Insidious's jumpscares are used tastefully & are earned through the movie's eerie atmosphere/aesthetic. Jumpscares are only bad if a movie relies on them in order to make up for a lack of horror.

Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Monster House

>we need a handsome, charismatic and kino male lead actor for our horror movie
>he has already been working on the film with james wan for months sir!

i was already aware ot thr infamous jump scare scene prior but the scene where the wife goes into the baby’s room and somebody is standing there got me

NIGHT MAN

Some, but not all. It would have been better if they didn't do the SCARY LOUD NOISE and let the sudden reveal do the work. Still, it's probably one of the better horror movies of the last decade (which isn't saying much, given the competition)
