It's an entirely different kind of flying altogether

why?

Neilson was literally made for this kind of comedy. True genius

That's when I developed a drinking problem.

I don't know how many times I watched this movie before I noticed the bit where the captain looks like he's in the mirror but then just keeps walking, it's such a great gag and it killed me when I suddenly realized it, I never noticed it at all because I was always laughing at his kid getting mauled by the dog.

Attached: 546497.png (612x352, 293K)

He made me laugh.

While it would be nice to have him around, all of his movies since Naked Gun (maybe with an exception of Wrongfully Accused) were hot garbage.

It's an entirely different kind of flying

not at the end I bet, it was mercy he didn't have to be in more of the movies he was doing

What's this specific type of comedy called? It's my favorite part of the whole movie, and it happened a lot in the naked gun series too like when they all walk through the door but someone else walks next to it because it's just a set and not a real room.

-Maybe we ought to turn on the searchlights now!

Absurdist, really. Visual comedy.

The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone.

No, the white zone is for loading. Now, there is no stopping in a RED zone

Ha, just watched this on YouTube and never noticed it before. I've always been watching the vicious doggo attac, there's kinda too many gags going on at once.

this. It seems simple - just saying absurd lines like if they were normal but it's not. Not many can do that properly and Nielsen was the best of them.

I need help trying to remember a movie similar to these, I watched it a long time ago and all I remember is that it was set in a war, and there's a scene where an enemy chef is making a pie with kittens. At the end of the movie when the good guys are escaping they kill the chef and take out the pie from the oven and manage to rescue the kittens.

Top Secret definitely has the best visual gags of any ZAZ. Binoculars, big phone, convoy going in a circle...

There's no reason why you shouldn't have complete confidence in your chances to come out of this alive, and in one piece.

I need to rewatch this with my grandpa at least one more time before he kicks the bucket. slapstick and deadpan comedy is his favorite and he absolutely loses his shit with this kind of stuff.

When lava pours out near the sea surface, tremendous volcanic explosions sometimes occur

If you watch his interviews, the way he talks about Naked Gun and Airplane makes it obvious his understanding is completely off when it comes to what made them funny. The key is to treat the material seriously instead of trying to get a laugh, that's why they hired people like Nielsen who had a background in dramatic roles instead of famous comedians, that's why it works. Nielsen unfortunately began trying to act funny on purpose for his scenes and that is why all the later movies suck because it's too on the nose in trying to be funny.

Alright boys, let's get some pictures!

Underrated post.

His execution faded. It seems to happen to a lot of dramatic actors who turn comedic. Alec Baldwin for example.

Ech, this happens every fucking time when I go shopping.

When Kramer hear's about this, the shit's gonna hit the fan!

Wasn't the whole point that he was a serious drama actor cast in an over the top comedic role?

When leslie was auditioning his delivery was so deadpan serious that the directors or whoever really couldn't figure out if he knew it was supposed to be jokes. They realised this was the only way to pull this off and supposedly were afraid to explain anything to Nielsen out of fear his delivery would change.
