Thats right, but Ireland was becoming a settled part of the crown without much rebellion (or as much as it would have had). Its only when religion created tensions the Irish were treated like shit and they started revolting full throttle for centuries. Ireland could have been a very large and significant part of the UK and a willing home state like Scotland or Wales if not for religious tension and the conflicts it caused. Ireland would have been much more educated and would have been able contribute so much more outside military, naval objectives and food production.
