It wasn't "bad", but it could have been much better. Especially some of the dialog was simply awful, either super cheesy such as "that's how an RBMK reactor explodes: Lies.", or painfully obvious that it was written by an American, such as all the shoehorned references to the space race and how the soviets lost it. These things are very immersion-breaking.
