Which is super cool in highschool and college, then you do it over and over and you get stretch marks, you get ugly, then you let yourself go and get more stretch marks, then you lift again and you still don’t look good. All the while you might have a good functional strength that is aesthetically pleasing on a Normie level.
But you can never be Arnold tier, you can’t even be football chad tier.
I was never able to get past 300lbs dead lift or press. Or 60 on the dumbells.
I could go from barely lifting 100lbs on press to lifting 250 the next month. But I could spend a year trying to climb past 275 only to continue climbing another year and peak at 300 never being able to progress further.
It’s a blessing for people who don’t lift seriously as it’s quick and easy gains (though you run the risk of getting stretch marks very easily) but for a serious lifter it’s a curse and I just lost all interest when I couldn’t continue to progress. Diet didn’t matter, routine didn’t matter, just couldnt get past my limit and the doctor said to stop trying as I’d just end up hurting myself or the “natural steroids” my body produced would give me edema or heart problems.
