Literally 90% of the things that happen in this are just for plot convienience and stupid as fuck.

there was no pedo subplot. they intentially made Leon a childlike person as an excuse to avoid having to delve deeper into their blatantly taboo relationship.
that's part of what makes the movie even more retarded, it just makes zero sense in every way down to the way he teaches her how to be an assassin frontloading the "keep the lid closed or it will reflect the light and give your position away" scene which is supposed to convince the audience that leon does in fact know what he's doing when in reality the writers don't know shit.
Well I meant that subplot where Natalie Portman's character becomes sexually attracted to Leon. It was stupid and unnecessary.

it could have been turned into greatness in less incompetent hands especially considering that it seems to be played off as a direct psychological reaction to her "trauma" and once she threatens suicide we know she's a little more than just fucked up.
but oh well, before you know it it's used for comedic effect when she tells the receptionist they're lovers. what does he do, call the cops? nope just kicks them out.
