Defiance 20min into 1st episode, confused

The show was designed with a shoe-string budget. The animation is lousy as shit, and the character motivations make no sense. I can see they were trying to do something different, but it ended up like Lexx or something where watching it after the first season is a big ???, fortunately there are only 3 seasons and none are terrible. The second season was the worst IMO.

Still watching the 1st ep, it's hard to watch.

looking for a recent sci fi show? watch dark matter. great characters and pretty good plot too.
there's agents of shield too, but that takes a while to get good.

Pull the plug, it will get cancelled before it goes anywhere like Colony

I don't care what you fags say, Defiance wasn't bad. The aliens were actual aliens, and the setting and backstory were cool.
Sort of a western, but with aliens and high technology.
Datak Tarr was worth watching alone.

I watched it. There's a lot of waifu bait and straight up softcore incest porn if that's your thing.

There's one alien race that are very pale and elf-like that have a tradition of bathing together as a family. The daughter dates a human and so he is invited to a family bath and sees the MILF jugs of her mother in front of him and they play off him having to hide his erection and everything. While the MILF also has tension with her own son that is also in the bath.

It's 100% designed by degenerate fetishists which is why the show is worth watching.

i haven't seen that one yet. dark matter still progressed the plot in regards to the characters and the setting a lot before it got cancelled so i didn't really feel that ripped off.

well idk if i want to pick it up then. in dark matter you learned quite a lot about important stuff i was curious about. to me, it was kind of like the farscape cancellation. yeah it was a cliffhanger, but we got to see a lot of stuff before it.

It's the kind of show that's worth watching for the world and potential, even if by virtue of being on basic cable you know it will never reach that potential. Incestuous aliens that bathe naked together? It would have benefited immensely by being on someplace like HBO, and it was about 2 years too early for the streaming services revolution. But there were a lot of ways that it touched on what it could be without shackles, and I enjoyed it for that.

The problem with Colony was that it was never going anywhere. In three seasons there was at most a single seasons worth of good material; the rest was just spinning wheels. They really needed to just fucking go for it; trying to keep the show alive with shitloads of teasing is ironically what killed it. Somewhere there's a story bible with all the info they couldn't be fucked to tell us.

Her character was supposed to be a space nigger. Her species is the "nigger" one among the aliens who migrated to Earth.

So they have the white actress make out with the world's ugliest black dude. Forced love interest just for the BLACKED scenes.

The show had some good actors in it but just as many bad ones.

The entire show was some international production with a free to play video game tie-in. The game was shit. No connection to the show.

Corny show. Some eye candy. Never really took off. Interesting premise Aliens who escaped a supernova arrive on colony ships and one of them sets off the terraforming nanites on Earth, fucking it up. The terraforming was aborted part of the way through but most of the animals and plants were mutated and the climate got fucked. The terraforming was meant for Venus, Mars, and some moons.

wait, weren't her species supposed to be the elite? i swear i got that impression from the show. i dropped it a few episodes in mind you, so maybe they were just posing as the elite in the town idk

Keep watching, first episode is slow. It is corny all the way through but it gets pretty dark.
