Saw a sneak preview of Ace Ventura in February 1994 in a double bill with The Pelican Brief. You have no idea the energy that the packed theater had. One of my favorite movie going experiences!!!FACT!!!

There's a hilarious bit in the script where Ace says some quip, then throws one of those factory hook things at a guy. It ends up killing the guy, and Ace just freaks out. He only intended to knock him out. There's a jump-cut to Ace carefully cleaning his fingerprints from the scene.

The movie is carried 90% by Jim's plastic face and impressions. It's just a vehicle for him acting kooky for 90 minutes. It's not really a narrative strong enough for like, an actual series.

i saw Ave Ventura in theatres when I was 10. I pissed my pants with laughter during the scene where he figures out Finkle is Einhorn, specifically the moment he was crying naked in the shower.
