agreed, hes a mutant spider human teenager. it makes way more sense than some kid being able to create some super strong synthetic liquid string and launcher system to swing around a city and tie up bad guys with. making it part of the mutation is super logical.

I like it as well. Everyone pushes for web-shooters because it shows off his intelligence, but I kind of like the idea of developing organic webs. It makes him more of an average guy that falls into great power and how he reacts to it, rather than a super genius that gets super strong on top of it.

From a comics perspective though, I think web-shooters and Peter's intelligence work well so he can constantly be coming up with web-based attacks and developing inventions/tools. It works for serialized storytelling.

But back to the film perspective, organic webs also are perfect symbolism for the coming-of-age theme of Raimi's spider-web. White flulid he develops as he becomes a man... It was a different time!
