I actually kind of hate this term that media coined. The thing about slow burns is that it's supposed to imply gradual, long build up to something amazing, but most shows or TVs that I've seen being named slow burns actually just have buncha bullshit at the start and all the good parts are unrelated to the boring shit. Other popular shows like True Detective, they are most likely gripping right from the start and aren't slow burns at all, they are like 3 episodes a season.
The only true slow burn TV show that I can think of is Twin Peaks.
