I think to those people that are truly in Los Angeles, who never leave Los Angeles, who are apart of the "entertainment industry", that his is very much their world, this is very much their experience, and this is very much their fears.

Meh, I was just bored out of my mind towards the end, it felt like my brain was melting on account of the pure boredom and purposelessness. The aimlessness of the narrative even made the brutality more obnoxious than genuinely frightening or disturbing. I mean the show is an unequivocal disaster for the most part, there are several good episodes, but that's about it. What a waste of potential and time.

The thing is that, given the current state of cinema, even if I consider this series a failed attempt and an eye opener about Refn limitations and creative weaknesses, TOTDY is still a breath of fresh air and it's full of great moments. Episode 5 in its entirity and many little moments in other episodes are brilliant, terrifying and hilarious. Refn is not Lynch anyway and the conclusion of his series is a downer, but that fact doesn't erode the great, risky ideas TOTDY has.
