in every AD vs family guy thread, people just say the writing is better but IMO theres more layers to that. The biggest difference is how the Smiths are somewhat decent people and care for each other, where in family guy everyone is really a piece of shit and is constantly teased that they hate each other and their lives are shit. couple that with their very predictable formula

Aside from that, in AD the writing is funnier with way more quick jokes in between dialog then mean, crude or blatant ones that are bashed over our heads, theyre more willing to break the 4th wall and not explain shit, with rodger they have endless characters and stories, same with Stan as a CIA agent. All the background characters are fully fleshed out, Francine, Hayley, steve and even jeff and klaus can have their own episode that are good where as Lois, meg and chris are one joke about depression
