Ghosts and Booze.

But moreso Ghosts than Booze. People who think it was all in his head/DTs need to be shot.

Besides a dude’s problem, I uphold the issue that Nicholson embodied the insanity without any help from Kubrick opposing to Duvall. No wander she is cry baby YO !!!

Why wasn't he surprised/scared by any of the ghosts in the golden room?
It's like he was expecting them.
[/spolier]

Bad direction.

All work and no play was his problem.

Kubrick’s Jack was already a very sick person before he arrived at the Overlook.

Ugly fucking nagging whore wouldn't leave him be.

>People who think it was all in his head/DTs need to be shot.
based

This also FPBP

He was never really alive the entire time his body and soul were always the playthings of the ghosts.

>Kubrick did this to Shelly
Damn..

is it true that Kubrick didn't tell her what jack was about to do to capture real emotion?

You mean with the axe in the door? Yeah.

It's implied he has the Shining as his son.
What i want to know is what happened during the first month.

Absolute madman, no meme or joking here

Movie's Jack is insane even before the movie starts, while in the book he goes from a loving and caring father to an absolute wreck of his former self and then he descends into madness
Nicholson never really "acted", while Shelley Duvall was scarred for the rest of her life

I only like The Shining because of its atmosphere,
the conspiracy theories behind it and the way Kubrick created a set that isn't phisically possible and fucks with your mind

the "acting" was shit

Bad father and a recovering alcoholic who literally sold his soul for a drink.

isnt it implied he sexually abused the son?
theres the way the bare scene mirrors an earlier scene of the son brushing his teeth

Who fucking cares about the character of Jack in the book unless you are an absolute purist? If Kubrick made a faithful adaption it would have been garbage. That's a fact.

He's always been the caretaker
