Why did it flop?

why did it flop?

3 hour run time, nobody actually cares about blade runner

Dishonest filmmaking.

Unwanted sequel to a flop from 30 years ago.

The neet incel market isn't profitable

most people are stupid

I don't know, but I'm happy it did.
I'm superior to Normies and that's all that counts.

didn't have mass appeal, much like the original blade runner. will be a cherished gem by many for years and years. just like the original.

3 fucking hours was a turn off for me for a while
I'm barely finding time to watch it today

Overinflated budget, it could have flopped worse, all things considered.

Because american and chinese audiences are too braindead for anything else but consuming capeshit garbage.

only thing it flopped was it's giant kino dick all over your tiny pleb brain.

unassailably based

I enjoyed the movie. Fuck you

it was too dishonest

they went for the lonely virgin white male demographic

It had a white straight male as protagonist

ok now this is based

No no, fuck YOU for fixating on unimportant shit
It flopped because it's not a film suited for the mainstream. It's as fucking simple as that

But this was basically capeshit SLOW edition

what the hell does this mean

cope

Where is the cape? Where is the post credits winky wink scene? Where is the endless replaceable CG alien horde? Where are the blue and red light beams? The pandering to the China market? Mid fight quips? Flocking normalfaggot casuals?

because it was too long and also not a good movie.

Dishonest posters are just people who couldn't handle all the black pills of 2049 so they're in denial calling it dishonest.

I wish it was 4 hours long.

Why? It came in an era of soiboys that prefer capeshit movies that have no real stakes and are deprived from good narrative. In my opinion it didnt flop; it just wasnt a box office success because it wasnt part of the MCU. If the movie was branded as a gritty Guardians of Galaxy spin off, it would have sold like hotcakes.

It was unironically too kino for mainstream audiences

Because it's waifu somewhat incel shit that has 3 hours of nothing happening apart from Leto being a creep (the usual) and Harisson Ford mumbling out lines for an easy paycheck.

What happened with cinema? Where are ACTUAL KINOS?
>Runtime 90 minutes
>Starring Stallone, Arnold, Willis etc
>Have them kill shit for 60 minutes
I ain't got time for "DUDE LMAO CYBERPUNK LIGHTS WAIFU"

because its shit

it was boring as fuck and added nothing new

all those action movies were ironic and self-aware

dis

Exactly.

do I need to watch the first movie before watching this?

Fucking this! I wish it was longer.

yeah

Blu-ray sales unironically saved it

Partially agree with you because Gosling played a charismatic detective in the Nice Guys. Just a stupid decision to make him reenact the same mute arc from Drive over a 3 hour film.

Bad film, way worse than its predecessor.

>its like the original, only worse!
okay then ill watch the original thanks, especially now that its out in 4k

Worse than the original. It's a derivative instead of something new.

People wanted the great dialogue in the first blade runner and were disappointed. No tears in the ran speeches, just a bot lying on the steps.

It's expanding on the narrative of the first one.
The first one being about what it means to be human, while the sequel deals with how memories form identities, what it means to be "special" or individual, and does it matter if you're programmed or not. Or the first one being about the human-replicant relationship, the second one extending it about the replicant-AI relationship and the nature of programming itself, which is not so prominant in the first one.
I don't remember a threesome sex scene in the original. I don't remember AI beings in the original. I don't remember the story being focused solely on the protagonist itself.

Completely different narratives expanding upon the themes of the first one, like a proper sequel should.

One is a character reciting lines into the camera, the other is pure visual storytelling.

It was on track to be a true sci-fi masterpiece until fucking Leto showed up and ruined the whole thing. Everything prior to that was flawless.
Also, Harrison Ford was totally phoning it in.

It's a sequel.

To be fair I think that's why Sony helped contribute to the budget and distribute outside North America

It was visually appealing, give you that. Just a matter of taste guess.

It was too good for the average retard moviegoer

The general movie going audience are complete retards who only care about consuming the most generic, hamfisted CGI shitfests with their favorite merchandise characters in it.

Because this.

>Also, Harrison Ford was totally phoning it in.

Must be tiring been almost 80 and playing the same role that he did on his 40’s to please the Genxers incels. He’s not Hamill that embraces it

people didn't want a story about how porn replaces a traditional wife with a guy who rebels against the system and takes out the henchmen of the porn industry

the whole ince- i mean replicant uprising was pathetic. you have to make it more nuanced and dark, also it was not original at all. if the first one didnt exist it would be a semi-good scifi

3 hour long borefest that gets all its source material from its previous movie, thus also making it unoriginal. The only things that made this movie good are the setpieces and Gossling's character portrayal

firmly based

No one had the time to watch the 2048 other films.

Based

>a sequel uses the first film as source material and expands upon it
wow what a bunch of dummies am i rite
