I can't even imagine how most of these are films. They don't seem to have a premise beyond "A dog is in this".

I haven't seen the movie, but great young adult book,

Does this count?

Also, is Pet Sematary a "cat movie"?

Attached: cujo.jpg (1280x720, 154K)

Yeah. I've seen more of the series, but honestly I don't remember too much about them after #2, other than that the one with Kathy Griffin was laughably bad and that one of them involved a road trip with Judge Reinhold and something about crooks trying to retrieve a secret disc in a DVD case of some western movie that he rented or something.

>simpler, gentler breed of entertainment
>500lb anvil suspended in the sky along with sawblades ready to cripple whatever dumbass villain this movie has

Nope.

I honestly wonder how most of these films fill their runtime. I expect they're like 70 minutes long but even then.

I stand corrected

Well then, in that case you make it difficult.

I remember enjoying this movie as a kid, probably because we had a German Shephard back then. I don't know how well it holds up, though.

LOL there sure are a lot of these probably terrible but essentially criticism-proof movies

why do all these movies look identical?

A lot of you are confusing scenes from the film First Bark with the more well-known sequel Army Dog: First Bark Part 2.

I wonder how many golden retrievers they've chewed through over the years.

Noun + dog = profit. Kids eat that shot up user. Pick something say lumberjack. Add dog (I'd make mine a Jack Russell for name pun) right a half decent plot. And bam. You've got a script

>Lumberjack Pup
>Jack the Jack Russell terrier is the only dog Lumberjack in the whole midwest, but now his forest is under threat from a greedy developer that wants to bulldoze the whole place to build condos. Can Jack save overcome the im-paws-ible odds and save the day?
>78 minutes
>Starring Eric Roberts, French Stewart and Casper van Dien

Dogs are a fucking shit tier animal

I fucking hate dogs. They're always barking and getting up on you, trying to lick you and make everything dirty.

Does Homeward Bound count? I must have watched those movies dozens of times as a kid

More of a general pet film given there's a cat in the trio.

I loved that book as a kid.

Attached: doggie.jpg (474x400, 28K)

>Reportedly Roberts was paid in three packs of triple a batteries
>Roberts agent pleaded with him not to take the role

What this guy said. But Homeward Bound is pure kino and the sequel was good too from what I remember.

My kid asked me why their mouths weren't moving when they talked and I had to explain we didn't have the tech back then.

>that quote

>hey we need a-
>i got just the guy

>Disney imported 20 under-aged golden retriever puppies from New York State into Vancouver, British Columbia for the filming of the movie. A second group of 8 puppies, of eight weeks of age were brought to set one week later from Washington State. Many of the puppies contracted the highly contagious parvovirus, against which puppies are usually vaccinated at 8 weeks of age. At least 15 puppies showed signs of the illness, including parasitic infections of giardia and coccidia, and all were removed from the set. Three were euthanized for intussusception before the parvo outbreak, as well as one for suspected parvo (but not confirmed by necropsy). Additionally, one puppy that was returned to the breeder without being used reportedly died of the disease. The American Humane Association enforced the removal of the first two sets of puppies, and after a four-week delay, during which time all puppies were quarantined until they were healthy, Disney hired 8 older puppies to finish filming; who were joined by puppies from the second group who did not get ill from parvovirus. In total, though, at least five puppies had died in the making of the film.[1]
