I think Striking Vipers is very good. The episode isn't simply about being gay or not. I think it's about how people need fantasy to function in the modern world but that doesn't mean abandoning their lives for it. THIS is the type of Sci-fi that I like, one that shows how technology affects the human condition and not the usual SJW feminism shit that Black Mirror portrays. I also like the games aesthetics!!!FACT!!! youtu.be/-nC5TBv3sfU

For Black Mirror it wasn't bad. Smithereens is pretty good too. The Miley one though is cringe worthy

It was about a dude cheating on his wife. That's like the easiest fucking thing in the world to not do. It makes for super boring stories and I feel no sympathy for the cheaters. It was basically only watchable for the softcore porn.

>It was about a dude cheating on his wife. That's like the easiest fucking thing in the world to not do. It makes for super boring stories and I feel no sympathy for the cheaters. It was basically only watchable for the softcore porn.

And the wife also cheats on him but it's consensual because although they deeply love each other they recognize that each needs something more to keep their relationship together. I think the message is that love can transcend physical needs!!!FACT!!!

Bad Bait but i'll bite. They are both awful people and the ending presents itself like a happy one where everyone gets what they want.

is completely right, the wife isn't even a bitch or anything. Most people would be happy with that kind of life and he cheats because bored. Scumbag. The porn isn't even worth because you know it's two blacks guys

>everyone gets what they want.

And what's wrong with that? Isn't everyone happy? Better than him and her divorcing I think!!!FACT!!!

Why is the media trying to push gay niggas?

MENTAL

if you fuck your best buddy in a hot asian woman body it's fine, if you're playing the girl then you're a huge faggot, it's simple as that

>It was basically only watchable for the softcore porn.
Even that was lacking.

>virtual fucking that isn't real
>cheating
KEK

>this argument again
It doesn't matter if you personally consider it cheating or not honestly. I don't even really consider it cheating, at least not in the traditional sense of the word. But the character thinks it's cheating, or at least thinks it is wrong, because he hides it from his wife and won't tell her what's going on, because he is aware she probably won't receive it well.
He enjoyed the pleasure he got from the virtual sex though, and that drew him to do it over and over again. The story doesn't even need it to have been with a best bro, but I guess they really wanted to work the "are they gay for each other" angle, which was kind of 'eh'.
I wasn't bored but I felt they could have gone a different route with the story or at least have a more dour ending, but everything was kind of neatly wrapped up and he gets to fuck his friend virtually once a year.

I thought Smithereens was awful because... Why did he had to lash out on the developer when he himself killed his wife? The fault was on him.

It annoyed me that his only argument was "but they make it addictive", and the developer was like "I know right". Dumb.

After I saw the Miley one I thought I watched something out of disney channel. I don't know why did they do that, that wasn't their target audience.

>One good episode in a 3 episode season
Yikes, why is BM so highly praised again?

wtf

I love how no one cares about talking about Black Mirror after a week. Same thing happened when Season 4 came out, but instead of talking about virtual sex and if you would play as a girl character, it was everyone crying that Todd did nothing wrong and didn't deserve to get stuck in the game. truly a crap show

he acknowledged in the episode that he was to blame, he just wanted to confess

and what target audience? I dont think they’re aiming for any particular demographic

there's a BM episode where Todd Howard gets stuck in Fallout 76?

Yeah, it's very surreal because that kind of thing could happen today. Reminder never to purchase Fallout 76

So fucking stupid to rate something on how long people talk about it

There have been fantastic films released in the past 6 months that no one is talking about anymore

Combine short attention spans with the sheer size of the internet which equates to a huge saturation of discussion all at once

This means most of what can be said about a movie or show is said pretty quickly and if there is anything else to say, people's attentio spans are short to the point where they've moved on

Basically not everything has to or even can be like the shining with layers of subtext and theming for it to be dissecting decades later, certain genres or tones might not even facilitate that

Yeah yeah all this is true, but Black Mirror is absolute dogshit outside a few episodes from earlier seasons

Agreed

Disagreed

Alright lets be adults about this

>So fucking stupid to rate something on how long people talk about it
Of course it is. But it's still funny to point out. especially when it goes from many threads that go to bump limit to dwindling down to a few that 404 fairly quickly. In the case of Black Mirror, it says something that people here would rather talk about being a virtual girl than the actual meat of the episode, and the other 2 were barely talked about even though Smithereens is actually the better episode. The Cyrus one I can see why no one has shit to say about it but still

It's just interesting to point out that there is tons of discussion, usually about one specific thing from 1 or 2 specific episodes of a season of black mirror, over the span of a week or so and then it's like the season never released the next week. And like you said there are plenty of good movies that have released just this year that get no attention at all, but this mediocre Netflix show draws attention and fills the board for a short span and then fades away. The Yea Forums cycle is just humorous to me. The board never shuts up about Marvel and Star Wars though, of course.

why is called 76 anyway? what's the number supposed to signify?

>There have been fantastic films released in the past 6 months that no one is talking about anymore
> there are plenty of good movies that have released just this year that get no attention at all

Can you lads please inform me of these kinos, I feel like this year has been a bunch of stinkers honestly. I need some good shit to watch

the number of dicks your girlfriend has taken in vr

So am I the only one that remenbered a little fighting game for the dreamcast that was named fighting vipers because of this episode?

i don't have a girlfriend

>Can you lads please inform me of these kinos

How the fuck can you miss Endgame?

Shoplifters

Yea Forums likes talking about popular things, which is extremely ironic when you consider how the board generally hates mainstream, normie, popular things, But it's what gets replies and attention. And Black Mirror is about as 'normie Netflix' as you can get. The same shit happens when Stranger Things comes around. Prepare for a ton of those threads when S3 drops

He said kinos not plothole riddled capeshit lol

You outed yourself, pleb. Kindly remove yourself from my board posthaste and return to the subr*ddit from whence you came.

I GUARANTEE YOU THERE WILL BE A REAL GAME MADE BECAUSE OF THIS

I think the episode, like many other BM episodes, explores the hypothetical idea of how human interactions will change as virtual simulations become more and more realistic and especially when they overcome reality completely and become true virtual realities. The moral implications and, in this case, the sexual and gender identity implications are explored. This episode doesn't really have anything definitive to say about it. It seems to suggest people will probably live dual lives based on fleeting ideas and fantasies which may seem stupid at first but will evolve into apex experiences and perhaps even dual sexual lives, likely to the detriment of conservative relationships IRL but that could be good or bad depending on what your position on that is (this is shown by the wife fucking/hooking up with other guys). It's a complex issue and pretty good sci-fi for todays shit movies and tv shows.

>For Black Mirror it wasn't bad.
Notice how it's the only episode being talked about pretty much? It's that bad. It's so bad that it's completely derailed any chance to discuss the rest of the show.

God, I hope so

so wot u wuz sayings is that Brooker wants his slag of a wife Connie to take someone elses Charlie? Proper mental.
