I don't think it's a masterpiece because of a few scenes that come across a little tryhard but it's damn close. Easily the best /scumcore/ film ever and really captures something special that I can't quite describe about america, poverty, childhood, the 90s

It's the kind of movie that a person who has never seen anything other than Hollywood generated consumer friendly movies watches and immediately thinks is a masterpiece because for the first time they are watching something that slightly challenges their expectations and sense of norms.

It is what it is, mainly a white trash exploitation flick.
No real narrative but it makes a point to show the running down of an already run down town so at least there's some kind of takeaway.
I could've done without all the cat killing though. When Korine was called out on it he said they were rubber which is grade a bullshit.
