Does 40K even have a big enough or diverse fan base for a film? The fans are like 95% male, that won’t be good for box office sales.
Does 40K even have a big enough or diverse fan base for a film? The fans are like 95% male...
The main issue is normies don't care about anything that isn't MCU anymore.
Its gotten so bad that shit like Star Wars and Pokemon bombs now
They make films about all kinds of dumb shit that bomb all the time, and cost $200m. And if they don't want to spend that money, they make a streaming show.
The 'fan base' doesn't want a movie because they know it would be shit.
They want to paint minis and listen to cringy audiobooks in peace, as was intended.
It would have to be so heavily reliant on CGI that it would be pointless to even attempt a live action adaptation. Also as much as I like the series, Space Marines, who are the most recognizable part of 40k and would thus be the most likely to end up in a film, really don't make for the sort of protagonists that you could base a feature length film around. There's a reason that the more character and personality focused Warhammer PNP stuff doesn't focus on Space Marines but on the more 'human' characters like Inquisitors.
whats some good 40k reads that arent reddit tier like OPs pic "Demons made of RAPE and LEMON JUICE" har har good sir 1000 upboats for thee.
I agree with this. Plus, focusing on space marines takes away from the magic and overall scope of the universe. They’re not supposed to be at the forefront. They’re like mythical angels that the average human would be lucky to catch a glimpse of.
This is the only legitimately well written 40k novel. All the other novels are not the kind of thing you want to read unless you are a fan of the setting.
30k books > 40k books
The actual 40k setting takes itself 100% seriously despite how ridiculous it is, that's part of the appeal of it. Not gonna find much quips or shit like that in anything written in-universe
>Does 40K even have a big enough or diverse fan base for a film?
The fanbase is far too autistic for any movie to be made outside some stupid fanshit. The plot is so retarded within 40k that it's impossible for a pitch to go over any kind of decent level.
They have made films based on the boardgame Battleship and the toy Rock'em Sock'em Robots, why not 40K?
40k is too niche
everyone knows what battleship is
custodes literal worst playable faction
dunno it could just bee a blackhawk down style mission with a few of the empires soldiers or saving private ryan mixed with starship troopers
only likes by weird spergy white guys, it'll never work
What's inside the vault!?
whatever gets produced will probably just be worse than fan content
Must be heresy
probably some sort of chaos artifact that will poop a daemon out for them to fight
This, can you imagine the elevator pitch?
>what if we had Star Wars
>but the Empire is even more evil; not just fascist but theocratic too
>and the twist is the Force and the Rebels are even more evil than that
>I need $200M
And 40k fans don't even want a big-budget mainstream movie because they know how much Hollywood would twist it to fit mainstream audience sensibilities.
>Guilliman (Jaime Foxx), Yvraine (Rebel Wilson), Shadowsun (Sandra Oh), Cawl (Ryan Reynolds), and Trazyn (voiced by Jack Black) tool around the galaxy in a lighthearted space adventure film set in the far future. They must thwart the mad ambitions of the angry incel Abaddon the Despoiler (Michael Cera) while also staying one step ahead of the agents of the conservative, religious Imperium led by the bumbling Commissar Yarrick (Domhnall Gleeson). Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy will find lots to love and laugh with in this heartwarming story about characters from radically different backgrounds, experiences, and species overcoming their differences and finding friendship in the face of adversity.
turbopsyker or astropath
Helsreach is absolutely fantastic. That’s really what got me into the 40K universe. Would recommend the audible version, adds a lot of character to it
>and listen to cringy audiobooks in peace
I don't even want the cringy audiobooks
I just want to paint minis and make terrain
I don't like how clean their armor is. Like this is the first time it's taken damage rather than the 1000th
Salamanders gonna get COSH'd
what does this cosh meme even mean
You jest, but Warhammer Adventures is a real thing
The MC is a secular explorer who despises guns.
>normies
you're one of them faggot
The first chapter of the first book has a teenager get graphically dissembled by a Necron gauss flayer at least
40k is a bit of a mess
The Last Church could be adapted as a standalone story and set up to future 40k movies tho
I googled cosh 40k and was presented with this by google:
>cosh(40) * Boltzmann constant =
>1.6249216 × 10-6 m2 kg s-2 K-1
Not sure what to make of that
A lost Primarch
I don't know about 40K, but I do know about Starcraft. and I know that Starship Troopers was the best and only Starcraft movie ever made, whether it was intentional or not, I don't know.
But maybe a 40K movie should be like that. a non-canon movie but set with all the pieces in place
>diverse fan base
Its fanbase is nearly one hundred percent white nerds with ridiculous amount of disposable cash. Tau Mantis airship model costs over £1000. It's one of the most niche hobbies in nerd sphere.
It doesn't appeal to wider audience by any stretch of imagination.
>Starship Troopers was the best and only Starcraft movie ever made
This has to be a bait, right?
>the last church
In which a dumb fedora puts his dumb fedora arguments—which even other atheists know are dumb—into the mouth of a 38,000 year old immortal super-genius so that he can "debate" some rando priest, "BTFO" religion and "justify" wiping it out with violence.
Holy fuck was 30k a mistake.
>over £1000.
wtf is that resale or retail
Not really. The consumer base is certainly large enough, but they aren't really the same demographic that goes out and watches big films. And if you can't convince the fans you sure as shit can't convince anyone else.
The main issue is that the setting is just straight up incomprehensible dogshit unless you're already heavily invested in it. The only way to tell a believable story that will also sell tickets is to make it a microcosm of human society and at that point it's so narrow that you might as well make your own science fiction film without having to fellate GW lawyers every time there's a rewrite.
AYAYAYAYAY *ear rape and flexing*
>It would have to be so heavily reliant on CGI that it would be pointless to even attempt a live action adaptation
Id love a stop motion animation 40k film.
forgeworld.co.uk
This is the poster child for ridiculously expensive models, but there are much more expensive ones currently in production. A Warlord with head, arms, and guns is pushing $2,000 USD. It's worth noting that these are specialist resin models for experienced hobbyists, though, not the plastic stuff they make simple enough for children to just superglue together.
Give it strong LGBT themes and trick people into going to see it
I said adaptation, not word for word remake.
If you want to introduce audiences into an apocalyptic, grim, setting like 40k it's better to set up a prologue or prequel that's slightly more "grounded", at least compared to what comes after.
Either a movie inspired from the Unification Wars or the Last Church would be a good way into introduce audiences into the setting.
>A 38k immortal super soldier is a prideful jackass and his hubris will taint and handicap his Imperium
How is that a bad introduction for normies
Event Horizon is the best Warhammer 40k movie
Slaanesh side love story
>normies
you're one of them faggot
Liam Neeson is cast as the God Emperor in that pic.
Liam Neeson, who famously said he prowled the streets at night, looking to "cosh a black bastard" after one raped his sister.
Larping as a triggerred christian has been out of vouge for a while faggot.
SCREEEEAAAM FOR THE GLORY OF SLAANESH
not a chance. can you prove me wrong?
interesting. from OPs pic related warhammer sounds fucking intense.
>grounded
I'm not entirely sure what you think grounded means, since you're referring to a story about a 38,000 year old immortal psychic deity leading an army of genetically modified disposable murderers on a crusade to exterminate religion in the form of an old man who believes said 38,000 year old immortal psychic deity is indeed a deity.
Retail my friend. And that isn't even proper custom workshop made model.
One of the biggest problems with the Horus Heresy is that the emperor and most primarchs, who are all supposed to be really smart, are unbelievably retarded. I mean unbelievably, in the literal sense of the term.
Event Horizon is a prequel movie to the universe. A very good scary sci-fi
>Yea Forums is filled with the losers that used to paint figurines at the local Games Workshop that we used to throw food at while running by
Lmao this explains so fucking much
Back to /fit/ I guess
That's mostly because they let eighty writers write about the exact same subject over a ten year timespan. Everything's inconsistent and nothing makes sense because there's no coherent narrative and nobody bothered to consult with anyone else before putting their ideas down. Giving a single person creative control would result in a coherent story.
>specialist resin models for experienced hobbyists, though, not the plastic stuff they make simple enough for children to just superglue together.
Considering all models used to be resin and GW made them plastic to save on production AND kept the prices, it is not much of a difference.
The problem is GW shits all over their fans at every possible opportunity, they are literally crashing their franchise with no survivors. Intentionally. Remember these are brits we're talking about. Self-flagellating, self-loathing, guilt-ridden eunichs who welcome invaders with open arms. Like if the Imperial Guard suddenly caught a guilt disease and welcomed in Tyrannids with open arms.
>all models used to be resin
Don't you mean pewter?
Slaneesh get out you underpowered welp before Draco notices you.
Go back to /pol/.
Yeah, Event Horizon is basically WH space travel gone wrong. I don't see how something that has Event Horizon as a basis of universum can ever appeal to normal people.
Does /fit/has normal entrance, or are those tiny house pet doors enough for you people?
It's a bad introduction because the Horus Heresy was a bad introduction. It's a bunch of poor-to-middling writers trying to come up with a way to justify why the Imperium is in the state that it's in, using canon materials written when 40k was an overt joke setting rather than a self-serious one.
>Bob Johnson
>Robert Gullyman of the Ultramarine Ultramarines, the ultra marines from Ultramar
>Angry
>Bloody
>Perturbed
>Brandon Lee's The Crow
>Kublai Khan
>Mistah Kurtz
>Anubis
>Iron Hands of the Iron Hands of the Iron Hands of the Iron Hands of the Iron Hands
>Alpha and Omega
The Primachs and their goofy names that make people laugh are enough reason by themselves that the Horus Heresy should never be shown to mainstream audiences.
Eyy, yes, pardon my Anglisch.
>keanu not playing himself
>all models
GW toyed with resin for a short time and it was an embarrassing failure.
Each marine has a bunch of serfs that clean and maintain their armor
Pewter is even easier than plastic. It's monopose and doesn't need to be cut from a sprue, you literally just glue the arms on to the body and put it in a slotta base.
5/10
Why did you and your fictional friends throw food at a building?
Technology is also sacred. They're obviously going to be obsessed with maintenance.

Warhammer 40k is very intense and fucking awesome. I really enjoy it. It’s over the top but that’s the point

Travellin' through space is boring. Well, boring unless da hulk yer on is full of dem gene-sneakers, or a base fer da chaos lads wiv da spikes, or already has Boyz on it. Or if humie lootas come callin', that's always good fer a bit a sport. Or unless yer have a mutiny or two to pass da time, or unless strange fings start happenin', which dey usually do when yer out in da warp. One time we had some bloody great ugly fing come straight out of Weird Lugwort's 'ed! It butchered half da lads, that was pretty entertainin'. Come ter fink of it, space is a pretty good larf. And that's before yer find yerself a nice world ta crush!
Making the movie would be dogshit to explain due to how big the universe is, trying to shove it into a 2-3 hour movie would be dogshit on basically every level
>Not good guys but worse good guys vs each other in battle
>CG for ships would be stupid as piss or heavily fucked
>nothing about space travel makes sense
>ORC BAD MARINE NOT AS BAD
>no clear good persons to root for without destroying the story
Not even sure what the story you would tell would be without completely abandoning both fans of the series and new comers to the series
Are there any books from orks point of view?
i feel genuine embarrassment for anyone who reads that op pic and thinks "wow thats cool"
I always come into these threads and see people asking for book recs and people gives plenty but is there a legit starting point required to read these to understand anything or are they all self contained and each book explains the universe and necessary lore
There's 1 comic and a short story, bout it
Mainstream 40k for normies
>Joe Schlub works in a factory
>Has to work long and hard because the production quotas have gone up again
>Civil unrest reaches rioting stage and the authorities have to crack down
>Joe is a PDF reservist so he gets called up, and has to help put down riots even though he sympathizes with their demands
>rioting spreads out of control and large numbers of PDF defect, inciting full-on rebellion
>Joe considers joining the rebels and almost does, until he finds out the terrible secret
>(surprise) rebel leaders are members of a Chaos cult
>spooky shit starts to happen
>remaining loyalists hole up and await the fleet
>Joe is caught outside the safe zones with a small number of PDF and have to be clever and ruthless to survive
>spookiness gets really bad and Joe isnt even sure what's real anymore
>the rebels have mutants and rogue psykers openly in their ranks and are about to overrun the barricades throughout the city
>Joe and companions are also in serious trouble as they've been found and cornered by rebels
>Space Marines drop pod in to save the day, followed by Imperial Guard deploying en masse
>Imperium loyalists celebrate their victory
>Joe faces an uncertain future as the Imperial authorities consider whether the city is too tainted to be saved
>After debriefing, an acolyte of the Inquisiton offers Joe a job on an Interrogator's retinue thanks to the skill, bravery, and resourcefulness he showed
>he accepts since his refusal would mean death anyways
>set up for the sequel
You need a basic level of lore understanding to get most of the stories/books and they rarely explain them.
Your best bet is to just start on lexicanum and read the articles for the primary factions
>Okay so there these giant space marines who go to kill space goblins
oh okay so the space goblins are the bad guys right?
>well no the space marines do fucked up shit to fight the goblins which make them just as bad sorta
okay so like the marines bad a mistake of genetic mutations?
>well no but you have to fight them in mega ships
sure, but why?
>well you see
They are all self contained. Horus heresy is set 10k years in the past and explains why things are the way they are. Reading the first three back to back is a must but after that you can bounce around. There is a flow chart online
It's horse shit. Most jumps nothing happens just once in a blue moon a ship may crash into a Space Hulk or get attacked by Warp creatures.
The setting is split in half. The Horus Heresy is the backstory, set in the year 30,000, which explains why the universe is the way it is. Everything else is set in the year 40,000 in the now totally fucked up universe. You can start at either end, or both simultaneously. It doesn't matter. There's no coherent start or end and the middle hasn't even been written about.
This. When Warp travel goes wrong it goes extremely wrong (to put it mildly) but the vast majority of the time it does not. If interstellar travel was THAT unreliable the Imperium could not exist.
The old short story collection Deathwing is still one of the best.
OUTDATED
And here's 40k-era
Not really. Even in the more-advanced Imperium of the 30k era there's a novel where Guilliman bemoans how hes lost about 10% of his fleet from Warp travel alone and this isn't even out of the ordinary.
oops
Reading the original rulebook, Rogue Trader, is probably the best absolute starting point since that is where everything began.
Or you could just read the current codices. /tg/ has a general handy with links.
Ciaphas Cain is pretty entertaining. Though for some reason they keep changing the characters and enemy with each new reprinting.
yeah I heard about the book, and I didn't mean to imply that Starship Troopers was an actual Starcraft movie, just that it's the closest movie to the Starcraft universe that exists. and the fact that it's so damn close is really something else.
It's a game first and a setting second. It'd probably make sense to read the rule books since they contain all of the necessary background for the individual factions.
Blew my mind when my buddy told me that a Protoss like race shows up later.
topkek
The horus heresy books are pretty good. The first three were good.
People are too stupid to understand with so little information
Black Legion sucks ass. The whole novel feels like a prologue to some other story, Khayon is obnoxious, and the bits with future Khayon telling a bunch of inquisitors how everything is just as planned is cringy as fuck.
Ravenor is wildly overrated. It's the obligatory cash-grab sequel to an otherwise self-contained and quality original.
Amen.
Fuck niggers.
They are a race of raging beasts who only find meaning in violence...and technically they are just a self defense fungus that is out of control.
However, the beast arises story is 9 books of kino.
>8/10
>not 4/5
Why would they do this?

I almost finished Fulgrim and its fucking terrible lmao
Been reading the books
Been playing some games

Dan Abnett's Inquisition books.
>Xenos
>Malleus
>Hereticus
>The Magos
>Ravenor
>Ravenor Returned
>Ravenor Rogue
>Pariah
These should keep you busy for a few weeks.
What do you like?
>Dan Abnett
I like his Malus Darkblade Warhammer books
Either adapt a one-off book like helsreach, which was bretty good, or make a series with the grounded part of the imperium (gaunt's ghosts).
It will probably never happen cause of the sheer amount of story, background lore and in universe jokes needing to be covered from the books and overall story of the universe.
The probable outcome is a generic flick set in the universe.
He'll, just the fucking mechanicus is a several part explanation, and it's one of the less covered factions
Did you know that males pay for 90% of all movie tickets?
Whenever there’s a movie women want to see they drag their boyfriends etc along and they pay
That’s why movies that totally alienate men like the all female ghostbusters or oceans 8 were spectacular flops
Turned off so many men they couldn’t make up the tickets on the % of solo women who actually paid for themselves
>>(surprise) rebel leaders are members of a Chaos cult
How original.
>Protest against 14 h shafts at a munition factory while living in slums
>Get labeled heretic and exterminated
How about for a change about a workers' riot on a forge world with inhuman living conditions and live expectancy below 40 thanks to acid rains and heavy metals contamination, which gets quelled by the Imperial guard as if they were Chaos worshippers? That would be a far more fitting and dark story than your generic action tripe.
>95% male, that won’t be good for box office sales
I just want a sequel to Space Marine :(
In my two decades of warhammer experience I have come to the impression that marines are supposed to have all sorts of personal additions to their armors. Purity seals, warrior cult ceremonial stuff, campaign badges, marks of honour and skill. Armor should also be somewhat piecemeal after all the replacement of damaged parts. Often mixing different marks of power armor into a very unique composition.
Sounds like you need to do a 40k Skyrim playthrough.
Heretics don't get sequels, Titus.
Pandorum was better.
>guardsman wake up from cryosleep
>oh no, they're stranded in a spacehulk
>oh no, genestealers everywhere
>big twist at the end
>big enough
Probably yes.
>diverse
Who cares.
Also it had Antje Traue in it and this pleases my penis.
Rowboat coming back actually vindicated everything he does in game because he says the exact same things.
Thus he is not a heretic, per the voice of the son of the Emperor.
No. They'd fuck it up.
It had an official film, and it was complete trash. Famous actors who couldn't VA, were too weak/old/flat. No weight in the Ultramarines movement, they had the weight of a feather. Terrible animation. Not enough gritty combat.
Go watch Helsreach, and then join us in begging for Astartes to hurry the fuck up as it's the best we have. Personally i would love a serious game, fucking huge, but well done. They've had 1 good game, but it faded into obscurity and the MP is dead. CDPR should make the game. As for a film, nah. Fan films will always be better, but how about a CGI show instead, with the budget, and created by real fans rather than people just working for a paycheck.
God I miss her. She's aging now though, should have had a bigger career sooner.
I like the Grey Knight short best of all so far.
>"BTFO" religion and "justify" wiping it out with violence
I thought the point of that story was to point out that the Emperor was kind of a douche.
Besides burning down the last important location in front of a weak old man, his last line, "because I know I'm right", made it pretty clear that Emperor isn't necessarily as smart and level-headed as he thinks he is, but rather that he's arrogant.
Honestly this would be a good way to do it, set the civillian backstory then slowly work in each element of the universe. Or an adaptation of Helsreach-type campaign. Maybe 2nd war for Armageddon.
>Self-flagellating, self-loathing, guilt-ridden eunichs who welcome invaders with open arms
Germany..?
>not being /fit/, Yea Forums, Yea Forums and Yea Forums
If you're on /fit/ and you can't bench AT LEAST 275 and squat at LEAST 405 you shouldn't even claim you're from that board desu
>giving a shit about the lore of a tabletop game
Unfortunately the Emperor was right.
If Magnus hadn't fucked things up he would have been able to move most of humanity into the Webway and give the Chaos Gods the middle finger while humanity evolved into a psychic race that could empower him to take them down and then have humanity lord over the galaxy to a level undreamed of since the Old Ones.
However, as you note, he's extremely arrogant. He didn't explain shit to anyone, just told them what to do.
Even Captain Marvel had a 70% male audience, cunt.
so a even then, it's a 800 million chance with an all male audience.
Eat my drunken ass.
Not really, though, because I'm not into anal play either way. no rimming, no anal. That's gross. I like asses, more into tits. But I will fuck tits, not asses.
this is the best attempt yet
Americans can't divide/multiply by 2
>oes 40K even have a big enough or diverse fan base for a film?
what kind of faggot are you? the last audience a 40k movie needs is a diverse one. that is how you turn an excellent movie into a shit one.
dont give jews an idea to ruin something. i dont want tranny marines.
when it comes to 40k, "We guard it with our lives. " "As your armour guards your life. "
audiobooks keep niggers out of fenris
cringe
based
It wouldn't make much sense to put mixed races in the same space marine legion as they're all genetic clones of their big boy daddy, salamanders get a pass because they're literally faulty gene stock lol.
Now I've got to go make that Dreadnought
>he doesnt remember the lead ones
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Liam Neeson is a great actor but this is a horrific cast.
Warhammer fans are 99% male, 100% retarded and 110% obnoxious.
Netflix series is literally all you deserve
Being a dreadnought isn't all fun and games.
Would rather a AAA game to be honest, no more indie developer shit
The design are awful but the lore seems Morrowind-tier autistic fun. How to be loremaster in 5m plox?
>they're all genetic clones of their big boy daddy
To an extent...?
Aren't they all recruited as kids and then implanted with the "gene seed" so they grow fuckhuge? Meaning, if you recruit a black kid he's still going to end up as a dark-skinned adult marine.
20 year 40k enthusiast here. i put bullet holes and cuts into mine
a.)Your picture is wrong.
b.) NOBODY who evnen remotely knows Warhammer wants a Hollywood movie. Just leave it alone.
this is basically the normie version of how i discovered i am not left wing, and i do in fact, hate the jews. thanks
Same. Don't give a shit about the fluff. I listen to good audiobooks instead

clearly niggers are orks. its a no brainer. despite them being based on football hooligans, visually, they are niggers

Most cinemas have a no singles policy anyway, that'll decimate the earnings.
He who stands with me shall be my brother.
You can read one Ciaphas Cain book, their basically structured all the same and get old quick, but they're fun when you're new to it or dig the humor.
I also like the Fabius Bile Books.
Disturbing amounts of humans skulls. Take a step back and think about all the lives reduced to a mound on top of dirt.
If he explained shit to people they'd try to sabotage his retarded idea. Forcing everyone to commit to blind obedience was the only method with any real chance of success.
Why do you have to explain the entire universe? Here's an easy intro
> medieval village on fire
> orks with axes running around and burning shit
> ridiculously ugly peasant sees meteorites falling from the sky and shouts in religious joy
> meteorites revealed to be drop pods
> orks with machine guns appear and start firing on the muhreens
> muhreens win
> peasants crawl out from hiding, including an obviously high tech (cyborg?) village elder, they kneel and the elder thanks the marines, obviously already aware of their existance
> marines un-drop pod back to the space ship, segue to officers discussing the war effort over a galaxy map and mentioning stuff like chaos, orks, eldar and the emperor
>95% males
>Won't be good for sales
Dude women don't pay for shit. I can't remember the last time my girlfriend actually bought a movie ticket or picked a movie. She just asks to come to whatever movie I go to.
Friendly reminder the ONLY redeeming quality of 40k is the lore, most of which is made up by fans.
>8/10ths of the crew is dead
When people don't reduce fractions my autism goes into overdrive.
Best way to do a 40k movie imo
>has to be a self contained action movie with a simple plot (I'm thinking like Zack Snyder's 300)
>Really focus on special effects, stylization and action sequences. The story isnt that important for what you're trying to show at the end of the day. Some absolute units going to town on some aliens
>sprinkle in some lore references and make it authentic to the universe for the true fans but don't do what a lot of artists want and try to explain the whole universe or retell things like the Horus heresy that have been done already in books. Going the autistic approach would just alienate regular movie goers
Yeah basically just get Zack Synder to direct 300 again but with Space Marines vs. The Xeno of your choice. I'd suggest a Tyranid invasion of a planet because Orks might seen stupid to normies. Maybe make it a hopeless situation that ends with exterminatus idk
What a reddit image
>The fans are like 95% male, that won’t be good for box office sales.
Considering there is nothing with good box office sales right now, it might be worth it to a studio to make a 40k movie as a Hail Mary pass.
Its was a Liam Neeson nigger joke, you absolute autist
I dunno, I think the Ciaphas Cain novels are pretty decent as some light fluff.
It would have to be in full CGI. Hollywood would spin it into some live action cringefest where real people seem out of place.
Queue iron man webms.
Based magpie
I'd fuck that tech priestess
Could have said the exact same thing about comics as a medium a decade ago.
God no. 40k fans would just pirate it.
I bet you think the Star Wars prequel films are well written.
Who wouldn't
Does that explain why everything that is made today is catered to normies?
Titanicus
Scars
Anything by Dan Abnett is good
>the main run of 30K books is legitimately horrible once it gets to the actual heresy
>30K is pretty much the only thing that gets audiobooks, at least retroactively
This sucks. I would legitimately like to see some Fantasy stuff get audio books done, Night Lords would also be good. I've never checked out Gaunt's Ghosts but from the reception that sees it'd be nice if that had audiobooks as well, but it seems like they'll only do the new ones.
As an Eldar man, I'd shit my pants in joy if I got to see an Eldar Titan on film
Ciaphas Cain is too high and Last Chancers is too low but otherwise its fine
>I'm a coward
>So I heroically charged the necron tomb-lord and body-slammed him, because that seemed like the only way I could survive
First book got it right, he was literally running away leaving his men to die, but after that it got silly
>having sex with an heretek
The Magus won't like this
Most of books do barely anything to world building. They almost require knowing the setting. Unironically best place to start would be short stories that are on rulebooks and other game material. It is a patchwork lot of very short stories.
Chaos cultists, that demands exterminatus.
are all space marines actually virgins?
when do they have time to fuck? who do they fuck?
Read some warhammer monthly comics
>Demons made of RAPE and LEMON JUICE
but that's what they are
Sisters of Battle, of course!
>are all space marines actually virgins?
Only if they didn't do it before the genetic modifications
After that they arn't even human anymore. After all that genetic modification and cybernetic enhancement, I don't think they even could if they wanted to.
too white and too male centric
nothing warhammer will ever get made in hollywood
>vault
Personally I could see it just being engine room access, they're just going to blow up the whole ship by sabotaging it.
they just need to add Battle Nuns, Lots and lots of Battle Nuns
All he ever had to do was talking to Magnus, explaining the true nature and dangers of the warp.
Hell he should have told everyone, because we saw in the Interex that it works when everyone knows chaos is literall deamons that want to eat your soul and that whatever "gift" you may get will fuck you over forever.
I'd post battle nuns but the browse button will not work in this thread only to add images
>Is there enough fans for a warhammer 40k movie?
I dont honestly think that would be the issue. I didn't think there were enough people for cap movies. I think if the movie looks really fucking good, It'll draw non-fans and make them into fans. A movie? maybe, A show? I'd love to see that but only if handled well
You have to understand, the Primarchs see the Emperor as their father, but he views them the same way you would look at a screwdriver. Do you explain to the screwdriver that you are trying to build a chair before you start screwing things in?
The Emperor's mistake was that he underestimated his Primarchs.
40k is just barbies for sexless nazis
Amen to Abnett.
Also recommending The Emperors Gift and Ciaphus Cain
It doesn't take a christian to understand that the emperors arguments in that story are downright sophomoric.
what a cringe picture and incredibly inaccurate picture, 40k would be more popular if its fans wernt spergs and turbo autists.
I would if the screwdriver were to be able to act on its own and likely make a choice based on the facts he has that would not be to my liking.
Should have tried to work incel in to the post.
Wait, that video goes for two minutes. how is there a half hour video about it?
>The fans are like 95% male
and that is NOT okay! all male spaces must be destroyed, and that's a good thing.
and that was the Emperor's mistake, he underestimated them. Lorgar especially.
what happened to her?
Don't the techpriests of Mars go fucking bezerk with machine-god rage whenever people forget to clean and maintain their armors and weapons?
Well obviously it has the potential to be amazing with so many books written about 40k lore. there's source material for several dozens of movies easily. But putting out a cerebral, 18+ rated series of movies that require top tier VFX to work is unlikely imo. Maybe it can become a good tv show with a serviceable CGI department
Got the giant SPEESSSSHHHH MAHRINE cock
Dead Men Walking is pretty good. Fucked through the whole thing.
Yes. And sometimes the machines get mad as well and then either refuse to function or otherwise maliciously malfunction.
orks don't have this problem
I think Space Wolves still do. Most of the other chapters are too autistic.
Yeah but not with humans, so it doesn't count
died for the Emperor.
They do occasionally, but orks don't care.
Bruh the eldr warriors are mostly feemale and they've always been one of the most important races in 40k. female representation is not an issue
>/fit/ wasting food
Nice try.
Starcraft took huge inspiration from starship troopers. Especially the cinematics style in brood war for terran earth. Obiviously 40k was the influence for starcraft as a whole though.
It kind of went back and forth. 40k marines inspired the Starcraft marine armor somewhat, while the awful-looking early Tyranids were made to look more like Zerg.
No, the series attracts the most high strung fucks to it. Shit would flop so fucking hard
I would prefer Guardsman/Space Marine buddy flick
He just ends up putting hot sex scenes in the later books.
Could still play a veteran Cadian soldier.
The recruitment of Space Wolves marines on Fenris had the same idea. Introduce the WH40K world to the barbarian boy who is taken into the stars.
>state of constant war
>best way for a society to respond to that is maximizing fertility
>but instead let's send out females into battle LOL!
unironically most retarded part of WH40K
What makes you think Imperium doesn't maximize fertility?
>>but instead let's send out females into battle LOL!
Love can bloom, after all
My Neger. Titanicus and Scars are the peak of warhammer novels.
Along with Legion and Ravenor.
maybe they are barren on dried up?
the imperium isn't run terribly well
how can he be right if there are gods and he wanted to be one as well?
k, I guess. so you'd expect around 1 female to every 1000 men just due to how the performance curve works itself out on the edges. and you're limited to only the population of barren females. let's take a super generous 10% of females for that. so maybe one in every 10000 soldiers is a female. that's not unreasonable.
sure ain't what we get in the fluff though. entire female regiments all over the place, with massive numbers of female IGs in just about every book out there. latest gaunt's ghosts book I read even had long diatribes of female IGs lamenting how sexist and oppressive their society is
A single Hive world, among the million worlds in the Imperium, can raise a million woman soldiers for each tithe, just to make some more room in the lower levels for more women.
The only resource the Imperium possess in abundance is manpower, they are more limited by the number of rifle available than the number of soldiers.
I for one welcome our new 40k overlore'ds. I have no idea what it's about but good thread.
Doh I thought that said Canadian Honor and was looking for a maple leaf on her armor
Not fair this thread will not let up browse and upload an image and i have 30 40k battle nuns
welcome to 40ktism
Alright. Let's accept that premise. Do you think this will result in *more* or *less* female soldiers?
>legion
>medicore
>mechanicum
>mediocre
I'm afraid of what the bad ones are, then. Mechanicum was fucking awful.
Also why does /tg/ love the Thousands Sons so much? Is it just because they're space autists?
There are literally more 40k threads on /fit/ than on Yea Forums.
>Let's accept that premise
It's a fact of the setting. You literally don't even know anything about 40k and are just hijacking it to rant about women.
You idiots are so disappointing.
1/1000000 guardsmen could be women and that would be millions of female guard
>Maybe if I vaguely act like I haven't been caught out as the grown loser man equivalent of a fake gamer girl stereotype it'll all go away.
yeah I don't give a shit dude, I was responding to that idiot making an argument as if he thinks that makes it more likely there'll be female soldiers, even though what actually happens when you're limited by equipment is you have FEWER female soldiers because there are so many of the top-tier men around that they don't have to lower requirements enough that they end up letting in retards, manlets, and women
>N-No I refuse to believe that the imperium is an overpopulated hellhole where manpower is so abundant to the point that the main imperial army thinks it's better to throw more bodies at a problem
ork snipers
1500s
they justify it the way 40k justifies everything, somewhere there's a planet with an integrated military and that's where they came from
It could work if they made it sorta like Apocalypse Now except in space, with some inquisitor or something going in to investigate a rogue Imperial Guard officer in some death world and finding out he's now running the show in an encampment of mutants he was supposed to be purging and has been corrupted by chaos himself. Final scene is the MC calling air support by ordering an exterminatus on the planet.
Ciaphas Cain
But they do let in manlets and retards. What do you think abhumans like ratlings and ogryns are?
ADB was a mistake.
Yeah, going lore-heavy is the dumbest thing ever but there are plenty self-contained stories. It wouldn't be hard to make a simple horror for 30m about inquisitor doing inquisitory stuff.
Black Library have become a bunch of liberal SJW faggots lately shoehorning stronk womyn everywhere they don't belong. ADB the arch-faggot recently lamented how the Directors refused his idea for stronk female Custodes.
The new books can spout whatever shit they want but hard numbers were given canonically years ago.
Women make up ~10% of the Guard, almost entirely in all-female rearline regiments.
All these new authors with their nonsensical mixed gender pet regiments are just speshul OC donut steel wankers.
Stay away from my hobby you fucking normies
