I finally finished Deadwood the other night, which was phenomenally great. I watched the first episode of The Shield last night, which I saw once before years ago, so the last scene didn't surprise me, but now I just want more Olyphant kino. Should I just stay the course or dive right into Justified to get it out of the way?
The Shield or Justified?
Other urls found in this thread:
Justified is just Bullock in modern times + based Walton Goggins
either way you can't go wrong because Walton is on both shows
I personally think The Shield is a better show but you can't go wrong with either. The Shield has a lot more "gotcha" moments in the storyline. Justified is "cooler and more adult" though.
Guess I'll just continue with The Shield then and save Justified for after. Thanks.
watch justified. the best episodes of the shield are the first and last one. early three seasons are generally good, but it gets repetitive and tiresome after that.
meanwhile justified has a so-so first season and gets better from there on. also, justified has one of the most kino dialogues in Yea Forums so its worth watching just for that. also, raylan is based and they never cuck or reduce him to please politically correct audience, he is a good bad guy done correctly
season 5 of Justified was awful. what are you smoking? The Coovers were a poor Bennetts ripoff. The Shield has somewhat more variety in its "season arcs" mainly because every character sort of has an arc Claudette's arc with that serial killer Cleavon is an example of a powerful storyline that had *nothing* to do with The Strike Team.
not to mention Raylan ends the series PAYING CHILD SUPPORT
watch the shield so you can appreciate how good goggins got from the pilot of the shield to the finale of justified.
5-6 tanked pretty hard and I got sick of seeing Boyd screwed over every time he tried literally anything. 2-4 were quality though
>RAYLAN
correct user
justified is great in seasons 2, 4 and 6
good in season 3
passable in season 1
and quite cringe in season 5
>Coovers
I mean Crowes of course. Coover is one of the Bennetts.
>Muh puttin down roots
It got tired quick but the red headed lawyer chick was fine
Watch them both.
watch the Wire
she and the kid were inoffensive (even though he drove the point home more than anyone that they were doing season 2 again). Michael Rapaport was fucking terrible and casting a shameless Brooklyn native to play a country boy was a horrible idea.
5 was shit, but 6 was absolute kino
Both were great but The Shield just.
>it's a patton oswalt episode
Justified fell apart after season 4 desu, Quarles was such a great villain that it just set the bar too high.
The Shield never has a bad season. Not a single one. Each one is progressively better, one of the few TV shows in existence to achieve this feat.
I watched that already.
Just finished the 2nd episode of The Shield. Guess I'm hooked now. I just hate the edgy credit fonts and the 'YEEEAAAHH' music.
>hating the edgy cool fonts and the "YEAAAAAH" music
this show ain't for you, zoomie
You sound like a huge fag.
bawita ba da bang da bang diggy diggy
BAWITA BA DA BANG DA BANG DIGGY DIGGY
BAWITA BA DA BANG DA BANG DIGGY DIGGY
MY NAME IS KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-
>hating that first raid's soundtrack
>not realizing that music is exactly the kind of music the Strike Team would listen to, making it appropriate
>not appreciating Kid Rock as a man of his time and place
>dude the words are shaking, smash cut to scene, this is so intense YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Show is pretty good otherwise.
>'YEEEAAAHH'
it's not yeah it's JUST ANOTHER DAAAAAAAAAY
that honestly makes it. cuz it was just another day for the characters
youre on episode 2. the more you watch it I guarantee the more you'll realize you can't do without it
The Shield is the better show. It's probably stupid to obscure spoilers this long after it aired, but there's an important scene towards the end of season five with Walton and Kenny Johnson, fucking incredible. A decade later, I don't think I've ever seen anything to make me "oh shit!" as hard as that.
I unironically can't wait to see what happens next.
I like how much of a sperg Bullock comes across as times when he's walking down a street angry making little eye contact with anyone with this crazed wide eyed stare
It's all about family right?
did nothing NOTHING wrong
Neither. Southland. 5 solid seasons.
Your welcome
Watch southland, underrated and ben McKenzie is fucking great.
South mind
You're the same person.
The Shield has a more compelling story and far better actors. Dutch and Claudette are probably my favorite pairing of detectives ever to appear on television. It's a damn shame that they never got their own spinoff series together, and they're too old for it now I'd assume.
I wish
watched the shield a year ago and its unironically probably one of the most underrated shows i can think of. was on fx when no one watched that shit, not available on any streaming sites, only crappy DVDs
Claudette is a hoarder who is going to die of lupus and Dutch is a serial killer (if Kurt Sutter had had his way with the finale)
it's on Hulu. my mom watched it last year
Karnes was in 12 Monkeys last year.
And I agree re: Dutch and Claudette. It's rare that you see a male-female friendship on screen without some lame forced sexual tension bullshit.
> justified: comfy based show to watch with your family, specially father/brother/grampa.
> the shield: a based masterpiece about the decadence of a city and of a group of men, full with violence, profanity, sex. watch by yourself first and them introduce to someone you trust.
not everyone can take THE VIC PILL.*
* it may give you autism
Dutch & Claudette vs The Strike Team and to a lesser extent Julian/Danny shenanigans were pretty amazing fodder for those "case of a week" storylines". they all had really good chemistry and were fleshed out complex characters
walton goggins with long hair
that's Val Kilmer bro
Justified is fashion kino
Justified sure took a weird turn.
