Who the fuck watches the Simpsons these days? Seriously, do you know anyone irl that actively watches the simpsons in 2019 who believes its just as good or even remotely good as it was in the 90s? Who the hell is the target audience in season 30? How has this shit show not been cancelled yet? It cant even be called zombie simpsons at this point bcuz this show is no longer the simpsons.

I genuinely don't know. I stopped watching in season 13 and never tried it again. In my mind those seasons still hold up and are fantastic and I am sure if I saw any new seasons I would start hating them too. I do not know a single person who still watches the show
I contend simpsons died right after behind the laughter. No one can take those seasons away from me, not even the simpsons

OMFG were 16-19 BAD.
It somehow got better with 20, but it was still MEH.
Absolutely ZERO interest in watching them.
Not even the halloween episodes interest me, and they were my favorite part of the show.

Jesus fucking Christ... another potentially great Simpsons thread ruined by you underaged cocksuckers. Seriously, how is uttering the same one or two phrases, or some variant of "Formerly X" funny? How is ruining any potential discussion of the greatest sitcom ever made enjoyable? I didn't have much growing up... in fact I was a latchkey kid. I didn't have many role models, but I did have The Simpsons growing up. Every week I would watch The Simpsons, recording each episode on my parents' VHS machine, then rewatch every episode during the summer. Eventually I enlisted in the Marine Corps and got sent to Iraq. Again, all I had was The Simpsons, seeing as how I had nothing waiting for me back home. My motivation to see the end of my tour alive was knowing that when I got back to the States I could look forward to seeing what kind of hijinks Homer and his family would be up to next. And I loved discussing this show on Yea Forums, one of the coolest places on the internet. Well, no more. I can't take this obnoxious spam for a second longer, I'm gone.
I seriously tried to watch it all, thinking that I'd watched it all so far so I might as well go to the end. But somwhere around 23-24 I just stopped. It's not even bad enough to get mad at. It's just nothing.

I was going to watch all of the Simpsons chronologically and review each episode but I got up to about season 14 before I started caring about self worth and stopped before it got horrendous
Don't know why they simply didnt age the characters and continued the series. I'm sure it wouldn't hold a candle to the golden age but it would at least be different.

I envision upcoming animators and voice actors having being offered the opportunity to work on The Simpsons, having it sold to them on the grounds of it being the holy grail of Fox animation studios, the pinnacle of working on one of greatest shows of all time.
And then the slow realisation that it's already died, and is being kept alive because everyone is too scared to admit how dull and lifeless it's become.
Pretending to feel excited and enthusiastic in work everyday, singing the praises of The Simpsons through false smiles and enthusiasm, deep down knowing it's heart stopped beating years ago, and all that's left is a cold, dead plastic shell.
HACKSHUALLY, I will say that currently it's not at its worst. Worst point was probably around S20-25.

I regularly still watch Simpsons, and it's just as funny as ever. Notice how everyone's personal view on the "peak" of The Simpsons happens to be the exact moment they were young enough to enjoy the childish shit, but just old enough to start getting the more adult humor.
