The show has enough good points to overlook how hamfisted it can be at times. It's more likely to make you groan or laugh than it is to make you angry.

I watched the first episode of the new season with my mum the other day. Never watched it before, and all I gained from it was that ungrateful women are trying to destroy a necessary society.

The biggest problem is the protagonist. After the first season, she's literally not doing anything.
On the rare occasion something happens, it's always other people.

Like most modern TV shows, it starts out with a good idea, but then spins it out for too long in order to generate as much profit as possible. Hence, the same concepts are presented repetitively over and over again. First season was good, because it was close to the original classic novel, but then everything after that is just re-hash.

Season 1 follows the main storyline of the book with some deviations. Afterward in season 2, they're milking it using some minor plot lines from the book as story archs + the whole pregnancy arch.

Stop thinking about it as some show that was created specifically as an insult to you. Watch it as entertainment. The dystopian future world building gets better in the next episodes and especially in season 2. And I'm afraid this is one of the only few good shows that are out now.
I'm sure that back during the cold war, Russians didn't mind watching American movies that portrayed them as the enemy. Do the same and just laugh about it. I understand if the show is bad that the political agenda makes it worse, but this is a good show so the agenda should just be either a bit of food for thought or a joke to you. The premise is ridiculous anyway but it's more or less well written and I find it enjoyable.

Funnily enough I think Aunt Lydia is their biggest success in the changes they made in the series. From a past threat in June's memory, she becomes an antagonist to all female characters including the wives.
