The fans liked it, everyone else didn't. Jokes on them, We watched a film we liked, they didn't. That makes them suckers.

It’s a good Godzilla movie but could have been better

I was hyped for many, many months and I was not dissapointed.

REDDIT LETTER MEDIA TOLD ME IT WAS GOOD AND THEY LIKED IT SO THEREFORE I LIKE IT IT IS KINO HA HA HA HA

For some reason there is a very vocal minority here insisting that there's so little monster screen time here, despite the fact the the first monster literally appears like 15 minutes in and at least a third of the movie is the battle of boston

I would've thought those guys hate it desu

I like it but it had a few major things wrong with it

all fight scenes are in the dark/rain
all fight scenes are zoomed in, can never see the whole picture
there was almost no action sequences that last more than a few seconds without cutting to another angle/scene (might be the worse thing)
also, fight scenes don't last; virtually every monster interaction was over as soon as it started
we see godzilla push ghidorah through one building, rodan eats one pilot and for 2 seconds blows away a few city blocks in mexico; that's it- no other city destruction, like seriously wtf, no other monsters breaking buildings, eating cars or killing people?

we really REALLY should have had more lengthier wide angle scenes like the very first flashback of Godzilla, that scene was kino, was the only one that felt real

I liked it, but every cliche moment that could possibly happen in this kind of film does.
Also the zooms when Godzilla or Ghidorah come into the shoot where a bit tacky. Too found footage for the tone of the film.
As a red bloodied American I can't wait for Kong to kick this oversized igunna's ass!

I almost let Yea Forums meme me into not seeing it for this reason. Going in expecting next to no monster time but then getting that great action flick was hilarious.

This, also the human cast of characters was too big. The long exposition scene between antarctica and mexico sequences was the worst part of the movie, I know they used the ORCA as a plot device so the humans could have some agency/relevance in the plot but I wish they'd just scrapped all that, have Ghidorah break free on his own or even accidentally.
Gareth Edwards talked about Godzilla as a force of nature, make them like that, man can try but we can never tame it.
It's OK to push humans to the side and have them just be witnesses to the carnage, if it's done in an interesting way, and anything would be more interesting than the ecoterrorist/orca angle they went with.

thinks monster movies are good

Attached: 1560357596839.jpg (473x500, 46K)

The soundtrack was good and nostalgic the Monster fights were cool (at least until they cut to the humans), but that's it the story is garbage and the Orca is one of the worst plot devices that changes functions as the plot demands it

>the Orca is one of the worst plot devices that changes functions as the plot demands it
explain

>goji's intro in antarctica
>him falling through the ice and hearing his classic roar (the whole first fight desu)
>rodans intro and flight sequence
>ghidorah spreading rodan and blasting him point blank
>mothra being useful and her roar
>ghidorah doing that move (that supes does to ww in justice league where he levitates a bit and smashes her down) to godzilla
>godzilla smashing a ghidorah head and rubbing it through a building
>godzilla being dropped from the stratosphere (this scene needed to be longer, one second theyre leaving the ground and then it cuts to them already being high up)
>serizawas sacrifice and the music playing (score for this movie was great)
>that bowing scene, and ending shot, fukn kino idgaf if you didnt like it
yeah idk why the fights were so zoomed in, weird choice

It got way better once they went to Atlantis. I just wish the bad guys were top-level deep state government people instead of terrorists. That would have been way more Godzilla-esque.

It was as good as the first Pacific Rim

Kaijufags (including myself) are loving it, and most of them actually acknowledge the flaws of the movie, but it has so many redeemings qualities that make up for it.

General audience are okay with it

Critics are so retarded that they somehow expected deep story. They shitted on G2014 and now it's some kind of underrated masterpiece.

Some delusionnal fags are comparing it to BvS, while KOTM is miles better than this clusterfuck

Attached: 1553752474461.png (1195x518, 945K)

What did the Japanese think of it? If you fuck up Godzilla for them you really did something wrong.

They loved it, even Hideo Kojima tweeted about it.

But it made less than G98, it's not really surprising since that movie was teased to death back in the day and everyone thought it was going to be the next Jurassic Park

Poll conducted among Twitter Japs, 16K votes, 69% said great, the rest goes from good, average/mediocre, and bad

Attached: D9MA68qXYAAeO9r.jpg (629x451, 35K)

I'm going to see this tomorrow.
Does millie bobbie brown ruin the story?
I'mma be pissed if she does.

no,she honestly has very little relevance until the end

>This movie was good idk why people are shitting on it.
I don't really get it, especially when its human plot isn't any worse than the 2k14 movie's. If Cranston was the protagonist of that one it'd have been much better but he wasn't and instead we got generic soldier dude. I guess it was "more realistic" in the critics' eyes?

>This movie was good
The fights were yeah. And that's the only positive thing I can say about it. Unfortunately there are a lot of other elements in the movie that are horribly done and cringeworthy and it bogs it down from being great.

You already know what the consensus is, because you've made this thread 15 times in the past three days, you fucking cocksucker.

Attached: 1512541673081.jpg (503x513, 81K)

i remember there were 2chan posts calling him fatzilla and to put him on a diet lel

The human characters are all garbage and I hate every second that they're on screen.
Mothra needed more screentime so it would be sadder when she explodes.

Shin Gojira is a lot smarter

>all fight scenes are in the dark/rain

Yeah because seeing Ghidorah going full Pikachu shooting lightning everywhere would look great if it was during the afternoon

No that was 2014, the traditional dorsal plates being used won the Japs over in the blink of an eye

>If you fuck up Godzilla for them
Already done once

Attached: Godzilla.1998.1080p.BluRay.3xRus.2xEng.HDCLUB.mkv_snapshot_02.03.01_[2019.06.17_13.01.23].jpg (1920x800, 691K)

I don't pay to see movies, but the score was kino. Surprisingly good for a modern action flick. Love Ghidorah's creepy indian chanting.

>thought Farmiga is hispanic
>she's actually Ukrainian
WTF

>it looks better cuz you can't see it clearly
Okay. what a great excuse

I thought it was fucking great. I saw it twice.

I heard that Mothra's original theme song is used in the movie, but I didn't hear it anywhere.

>electricity is easier to see during daylight

Attached: brainlet wojak.jpg (211x239, 5K)

You would think the Orca's "bio-acoustics" would just be some variant on the monster's theme songs.

Attached: 1560184898437.jpg (1660x1269, 130K)

they think goji and mothra are a cute couple and rodan is kaiju starscream

Attached: goji jotaro.jpg (1000x1000, 343K)

The CGI in the movie was good. I'm sure if there had been a daytime fight it would have looked fine.

What the fuck was his problem?

Attached: Godzilla_King_of_the_Monsters_-_Rodan_poster_-_Clear_keyart.jpg (2000x2964, 602K)

>Yeah because seeing Ghidorah going full Pikachu shooting lightning everywhere would look great if it was during the afternoon
I don't see how it would look bad. Everything didn't need to be dark and zoomed in.

he would rather be no.2

The most "ok" film ever

>Human parts were boring or cringy
>Dialogue was horrendous
>Crap story
>Questionable casting
>Monster fights left a bit to be desired.

Say hello to the newest member of the Monsterverse

Attached: CloverfieldMonster.jpg (428x233, 20K)

wrong

Attached: the giant claw.jpg (853x480, 79K)

I went in to be entertained by gigantic kaiju fucking each other up and I came out satisfied. I could gripe about other things but everyone that isn’t stupid knows people aren’t showing up for the actors. Charles Dance was a plus and I’m excited to see how they develop him in the following film(s). He didn’t really have a presence though in this one.

Potential ruined by that stupid Paradox movie where Debicki salivating was the only redeeming quality.

Wazzup fellas

Attached: Graboid_tongues.jpg (800x456, 287K)

not wrong

Attached: WarnerBad.png (640x554, 461K)

The second fight scene happens in the middle of the day. Early evening at most.
Like half the shots of the fight scenes focused on the monsters from a great distance specificay to see their whole body.
The rest is bullshit. How the fuck don't fight scenes last, retard ?

The movie was fucking shit dude. All the humans were god awful characters and the plot was dumb. Godzilla was ridiculously OP at the end and there was no conflict. How can you even think it was good? Leave this board and never return

Loved it

Attached: IMG_20190616_152727_01.jpg (3024x4032, 976K)

I got exactly what i wanted out of the movie. but can still hope for better in the future
>human stuff was shit, which isn't the worst thing for this kind of movie but skull island proved its possible to have better
>monster behavior was awesome
>monster fights were """alright""", and didn't have really poignant oomph moments(my sister didn't even realize mothra died until after the movie)
>the fights didn't have as satisfying of finishers as 2014 and skull island
>the soundtrack was absolute nostalgia bait and i love it
>I enjoyed eco terrorist tywin lannister
I hate defending movies with shit like "turn your brain off" but with a godzilla movie like this, if you didn't enjoy it, you simply went to the wrong movie.

>literally smothered by darkness and rain

Attached: 1531104409368.jpg (3840x2160, 574K)

Human element was written worse in this one, and the editing made them more obtrusive to the monster fighting, which breezed on by without any hype or impact. This is a bad case of overcomensating from how 2014 did it while trying to have their cake and eat it too with a shoehorned family story as something "relatable". Complete mess of a movie.

I thought godzilla was a mutated iguana, not an ancient one like cthulu who's a guardian of earth fighting ghidorah for millenia

Back to measuring worms, Tadpolopolus

Attached: 1560451794272.png (960x960, 770K)

How about you leave and never return for your shit and objectively wrong opinions you gods damned cocksucker?

Objectively retarded

Who fucking says this shit? I'm all for honest criticisms but a ton of the shit I have seen against this movie sound like pajeets reading off a list of guidelines to sabotage the discourse.

It was decent, the directors seemed to have understood that no one gives a fuck about the humans which was 2014's issue
Godzilla needs to be a monolith of death and destruction or spend the whole movie kicking other monster's shit in, there is no inbetween

"It's Tatopoulos"

Attached: 1541850127283.jpg (1920x1080, 131K)

I thought that woman was Carice van Houten until like the middle of the film

They really like it.

Attached: IMG_20190616_190135.jpg (844x1200, 140K)

Maggie Gyllenhaal for me

How come Shin Godzilla had pretty convincing day time shots of Godzilla with a ridiculously small budget?

>Shin Gojira is a lot smarter
yes and look how well that did in the states

They weren't that good, I guess knowing the movie is Japanese somehow lowered your expectations.

Attached: shin ciazilla.jpg (1229x692, 124K)

any good rips yet? preferably yiffy

Well thats not true, there was a lot of cgi that looked awful. The shots looking up at Godzilla in his final form seemed to look like it was actually there and that it had more weight to it.

idk how to explain it really

Unironically the best actor in the film..

Attached: f62157db-e2f2-408b-8ae3-d455fe122316..jpg (330x330, 35K)

idk what you guys are talking about, i thought it looked good throughout
at the least, there weren't any points where it took away from the film like a lot of other cgi films
But Godzilla should 100% be a dude in a rubber suit, that should never change

>monsters released worldwide
>see like 10 people die and it's all direct kills (save for that ONE good scene of the fire bird wrecking everyone on the ground just by flying over needed 90% more of this type of shit)
>the one big fight is in an evacuated city every other one is in the middle of nowhere or an ocean
Yeah nah the military Godzilla with heisenberg for 10 minutes was way better. I want mass death and destruction porn in a giant monster movie. Both the kong movies had more and they were on a remote island.

Attached: blergghb.gif (300x300, 1.49M)

Godzilla vs Kong has been pushed back/delayed following the underperformance of Godzilla KOM.

the director has some experience in that area
youtube.com/watch?v=kJZBt6wTNe0&t=19m50s

the shot of Godzilla transforming with the shimmering effect on his skin and the when you saw helicopters flying took me out of the film, but that was all

>The fans liked it
>everyone else didn't

Your logic falls apart instantly: I am a life-long Godzilla fan and it was a boring slog. A slog that I've seen before.

I really liked it, surprisingly high amount of monster action compared to the last one, and is just a really awesome movie.

that's fair, him evolving definitely wasn't the best, but it's pretty quick at least
kinda repulsive but not in the way they intended lol

Right? Like, I can see why they'd say that about the last one, but this one had monster action layered throughout, not to mention the final battle.

This KILLS the Capecuck

Huh, i never noticed that little easter egg before of the alien from Independence Day figurine

Why does she looks 15 years older than she actually is

Jews

>Yeah nah the military Godzilla with heisenberg for 10 minutes was way better.
Because the monsters in KOTM didn't kill enough people? The fuck mate

>all fight scenes are in the dark/rain

The alternative is this: youtube.com/watch?v=lj_xZVgBIgc

Kinolets need to learn to appreciate dramatic lighting.

Movie starts out playing Wave of Mutilation by Pixies so it's automatically my favorite movie of the year

Human characters were nothing above average as we all know. Serizawa was good from time to time.
But the monsters. I love their characterization they're a likeable bunch. I don't know what Toho is planning but it will be sad to say goodbye to this particular continuity.

Attached: l2u9vzrvxv431.jpg (1250x775, 134K)

Roman has always been a cheeky little shit.

Should have waited until Ep IX comes out and is a disaster, they could have saved some money.

>They shitted on G2014
uh?

Attached: wut.png (880x363, 276K)

Ghidorah was free wasn't he? I thought he was after the Orca to destroy it because it was confusing his stupid-head.

Considering it was screened like five times across like two dozen theaters nation-wide?
Spectacularly.

Shin Gojira WAS a guy in a rubber suit most of the time, they just augmented it with CGI.

>Godzilla 2014 got higher critics score than audience
>KOTM got higher audience score than critics
So critics unironically just don't like monsters fighting?

youtube.com/watch?v=g8PhummZur0

Exactly the same type of performance capture that they used for American movies.

Good to hear, there goes my biggest complaint of the movie lol
I just watched it the other day and I learned I made a huge mistake not watching it as soon as it came out, I think it's one of my favorite movies ever

Great.

Attached: 2016080900003558.jpg (800x835, 65K)

No, they don't like it when the remaining 80% of the movie is a grating slog that makes you wanna ram a hot poker in your eye socket.
We, as fans, are willing to forgive more, general audiences and professional critics ain't gonna ignore glaring flaws and a shoddy script because there's a ton of references and easter eggs.

Shin Gozilla is what I call "Infrastructure porn", a bunch of people using enormous resources to solve a problem, the vibe I loved in Chernobyl and Evangelion

Attached: Godzilla Resurgence 2016 HDRip 720p x264.mp4_snapshot_01.26.04_[2016.11.26_23.13.33].jpg (1280x720, 365K)

it was 100 percent cg dingus

sucess in a small number of theaters doesn't necessarily translate to success with general audiences. if they had tried to give it a wide release it would have failed miserably.

Because people are tired of big action movies. Unless they are Marvel because people were conditioned to love that shit for the last decade.

It's still people acting that's what's cool about it. We went from suit mation to the era of 100% artificially created CGI to performance capture.

She looks like a clone of Elizabeth Perkins..

That's uncanny

I don't think I have that many. Just whatever Dougherty retweeted. He ships and doesn't even try to hide it.

fuck yeah buddy

I loved it, saw it twice.

>Godzilla (2014)
>“Nukes are ok when America uses them”
>Shin Godzilla
>“Nukes are very bad, and the only thing Hitler did wrong was lose.”
One of these movies was more entertaining than the other, and let’s just say I have no interest in this new Godzilla Saves the Planet 2019 bullshit.

You should watch it for the cool monster scenes and that's about it

The CGI in Uprising was shit though, while KOTM wasn't. That would make a lot of difference

Jesus, the first Pacific Rim was pretty good, what the hell happened? This looks straight out of Transformers

>you should watch it
Eh. I’ll watch it if it’s put in front of my face at a social gathering but I won’t even torrent that shit.

Nips seem to really adore this movie.

Attached: D8I4HwbV4AAtIo6.jpg (800x966, 216K)

they decided that everything good about the movie was bad

cool monsters. painfully boring humans.

Dark or not I was really impressed with the visuals I guess I've already gotten used to cheap looking and unimaginative brawls in KotM we had many sweeping shots, very impressive and visually distinct. Hopefully with Ghidorah gone they can just have monsters fight in clear afternoon weather.

>“Nukes are ok when America uses them”
So just like real life.

The director changed

Attached: D8ivATiUYAIvrMl.jpg (680x510, 70K)

Attached: 1559610967402.jpg (1076x1075, 649K)

same, that shit was a waste of time and money

Oh, yes. Wordy Japanese comics that will forever remain untranslated.

Attached: D8TlmwxV4AIbCEj.jpg (768x1500, 288K)

Americans should get nuked and see how they like it. I’m specifically thinking a Hollywood/LA type area

Yes, it wasn't shit because both the director and head VFX artist knew what were they doing as set their main set pieces at night.

But I'm glad this movie brought ne life to the other Toho properties. Best monster characterization I've seen in a long time.

Attached: D8X44HqVsAAWtLM.jpg (1816x2048, 341K)

A few are floating around with translations. I don't have any though.

BASED BATTLESHIP CHAD

I loved the movie but I can't deny that I wished the family fucked off and we had scenes on just monster interactions. Seeing a bit more of Godzilla and mothra together or rodan with ghidorah would have been great. The monsters are really the stars.

Attached: 1560659703366.png (534x1177, 534K)

that's good enough, thanks man
loving the godzilla art itt

>FIXED YOUR MOVIE.
replace 90% of human scenes with Charles Dance speaking condescendingly to his underlings about the kaiju; Ken Watanabe being a monster-otaku; and the occasional phone call between the two of them, to illustrate the difference in their philosophies. The cute girl can still be in it, but get rid of all of the other humans' scenes. You're welcome.

I could never have enough of this version of Godzilla. I still think there are many that have superior design but he's got character. At the same time they didn't make him too much like a human he still has his primal might but isn't just a force of nature like some hurricane with legs. The closest version similar to this one that I can think of is probably the one from Rulers of Earth. I'm gonna miss him.

Attached: D8fipZNUcAAysBQ.jpg (1400x1017, 315K)

Who's gonna be the main good human character without Watanabe?

>ywn see this on the big screen

It was kino. Anyone who disagrees can suck my Godzilla-sized dick.

I don't really see how that's hilarious
A brilliant subversion, maybe

>I am a life-long Godzilla fan and it was a boring slog
>implying 60% of the original film series arent an absolute clusterfuck of plot and pacing

Man Tywin being in the movie was a cherry on top, it's a shame he didn't get much screen time.

Maybe on his own he's gonna have more to do but I don't think so. He's got no connection with any remaining human characters so there will be no clashing philosophies and he explained himself enough in the last movie.

Attached: 1560033453654.jpg (500x700, 234K)

John Boyega happened

>Boyega, who shares a producing credit, is particularly invested in this fluidity. The actor admits that he found the movements of the original Jaegers a little too cumbersome, and has brought fight co-ordinator Liang Yang over from Star Wars: Rogue One and The Force Awakens to bring the aforementioned “martial arts feel” to Uprising.

>“They were like, "What did you feel about the first film," and I told them straight up the stuff that I didn't like and the stuff I wanted to see more of,” says Boyega. “I wish the robots would hurry up, just hurry up.” Boyega and DeKnight’s talks also resulted in more of a connection between what’s going on in the Conn-Pod and the outside, so action sequences won’t jarringly jump from CG to something that’s been shot in the studio. “We have a way of blending those two worlds together,” says Boyega, “and once I heard that, I was like, "Okay, cool, that's going to be really, really good.”

ign.com/articles/2017/08/03/pacific-rim-uprising-star-john-boyega-on-jaeger-upgrades-and-new-approach-to-fighting-kaiju

>He added, "We've got better upgrades. The robots are moving much more swift. Yeah, we're like ballerinas up in there, it's fantastic."

Attached: file.png (718x833, 489K)

What cool fucking monster. Shame he'll probably never make an official appearance in anything.

It's okay, it just prove Boyega is a fucking retard and not a creative type

As you can see, a movie he produced flopped and needed chink pangering to survive.

Sounds familiar to Star Wars, doesn't it?

Attached: 1543717759668.png (399x400, 13K)

I just wanna see a guy in a suit fucking up a miniature city in modern times. Is that too much to ask for?

But 80% of the movie is monster fighting lmao

And it's terrible because like all less experienced (in big budget movies) countries trying to mimic Hollywood the results are usually just ridiculous. This is supposed to be about a real 1960 Everest expedition.

Stupid imax theaters only played it for a week only to be replaced with that Fucking men in black movie, what a stupid move

That really is a bad move. We'll see if MIB also has this minor bump in the next few weeks like Godzilla that's actually doing better now than the week before.

human parts dragged it down immensely and the plot was sub par

got some good kaiju action though which is better than nothing

Attached: 1560400214793.jpg (1200x675, 131K)

is Dougherty's career ruined?

Attached: 1551367349980.png (542x602, 43K)

no

I’ll never understand why people try to mimic Giant Hollywood studio filmmaking. Lotr did it though but that seems like a one off from a country that is basically half British and half American culturally anyway.

>while KOTM wasn't
Yeah they hid it in rain and darkness so you couldn't see even if it was bad

>The cute girl can still be in it
I don't remember any cute girls

What the fuck site is this

it was great, i just wish there was more. mothra didn't get nearly the characterization she deserved and charles dance felt almost nonexistant.

Attached: 1538201014465.jpg (1280x1106, 267K)

I didn't get to watch it on the kinoplex because exams and they took it out to make space for shit like Dark Phoenix and Annabelle REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Great hero moment. She'll be back but when? Seems like helping him fight Kong would be unfrair (from the storytelling perspective) so maybe later. With so many monsters I do hope to see them all before the series ends.

It doesn't seem to be the case and with Kong in the picture it won't be important to the story but I wonder if Rodan will become loyal to Godzilla (on personal level not just because he's the strongest for now). It would make him more interesting and we shouldn't expect Anguirus to make a come back.

Attached: 1559853237731.jpg (540x540, 67K)

I liked it. The kaiju designs were pretty good (save for the originals) and the end fight was great. Vera Farmiga's not sympathetic at all though and while I was """fine""" with the human plot, if it wasn't for Charles Dance, I'd probably be less okay with it.

I will never get tired of this.

it helps to show the monsters' glow a lot more from Mothra's God rays, to atomic breath, to Rodan's magma blood, etc. Actually a lot of the other titans were shown in broad daylight.

I imagine the fight between Godzilla and Kong to take place during nice looking sunset. But if the filmmakers didn't film it this way I'm not sure if I'd like them to fix it in post due to criticism.

The scene between the two parents bitching at each other and then GOAT Rodan scene afterwards is a prefect representation of this film. The kaiju parts are fantastic and worth the price of admission but you have to wade through a river of shit.

They thought it was eh and Jay liked Shin a whole lot more.

It's not good. It's not good for the series, it's 2.5/5 judged in Godzilla terms. The monster content is the best in any western Godzilla film, but the human content is even worse than the 2014 movie. In fact, it's a downgrade from 2014 in just about every category (dialogue, effects, plotting, cinematography, special effects, even the sound mixing) aside from the kaiju themselves. Hopefuly GvK will be a large improvement.

He likes low-tier exploitation movies. He enjoys things for all kinds of unusual reasons not as conventional well made movies. And it's not, it's highly stylized, has almost no characters and is mostly an artistic metaphor. Mike's opinion on KotM really surprised me because I thought that they both have little regard for these movies and weak human characters will be enough for him to hate it (normies don't look at kaiju as full characters in their own right).
Just like him I didn't think human characters were total garbage. They were just nothing special like in most action movies.

The family drama in this was slightly worse than 2014 storywise and the drama in that one was more subdued but at the same time the ones in KOTM actually emoted so they're about the same. I enjoyed the scientists stuff outside of the quips but only because most of that was world building and they had Serizawa's death which is the best human scene in the film.

>We made a thing that can communicate with these giant animals
>Terrorists capture it and set it to say "you're all niggerfaggots" in a voice that resembles a big ass threat
>Monsters react to that accordingly.
>wtf this is so hard to understand and convoluted aaaaaaaaa.

At the end of the 2014 movie he saves the city and is called a savior.
At the end of KotM he becomes a king and is responsible for all the monsters of the world cultivating the Earth and preventing them from attacking humanity.
And after all this I still read discussion about how they can possibly make Godzilla the bad guy (or rather the "worse guy") to Kong because he's more sympathethic or something. Really? How many more humans does he have to eat? It's not the 60s anymore. In fact even in the first crossover King Kong wasn't a force of good he was still demolishing buildings and just wanted to get back home.

Just like in G'14 this movie has some of the best use of military technology. Since MCU has gotten lazy with design and CGI things like that are noticeable. But that Oxygen Destroyer out of nowhere reminded me of that horrible scene in the second Transformers movie where they just called for a secret new super gun to take out Devastator. We don't even see it, no build up and it's like those lame villain reveals in Star Trek and Spectre that mean something to the fans but not to general audience

Literally every other female human was cuter. From her mom to the spic tomboy pilot to Mothra Twin Chinese lady. Even the black colonel was cuter

>how they can possibly make Godzilla the bad guy (or rather the "worse guy") to Kong because he's more sympathethic or something

Maybe they'll retain the "symbiosis" of Godzilla and Mothra in KOTM, and have him going on a rampage trying to find the egg, which is where King Kong comes in as the "good" guy.

Oh, right. Humanity kind of betrayed Godzilla in this movie. But I guess that boost they gave him made it all right that's why Godzilla was glaring at humans afterwards.

>Has like five minutes of screen times
>Has like three lines; one being a motive rant and the other yelling at Millie like a boomer
>Didn't enjoy filming and slept during the movie because he's a old boomer who doesn't really grasp the appeal of these movies

Poor Dance.

Mothra kind of stole this moment from Rodan. I guess they didn't want to make things too gay.

so you're telling me that godzilla and mothra are boning?

>mfw the reason why Dance has been collecting Kaiju DNA is so he can make it
>mfw Gryphon's the actual big bad of Godzilla v Kong.

A man can dream.

Most of the time they're just sleeping. It's not unthinkable but perhaps physically demanding. I think they're just good friends unless that joke in the movie and Dougherty's twitter really mean something more meaningful. It's weird.

It's like a 6/10.
The monster fights are good, but the humans are basically Transformers humans, and every time a monster does something cool the camera tilts down do a shitty human doing something annoying.

Shin Godzilla was all kinds of creepy awesome.
no longer a million year old lizard, but a full on mutant like Jason Vorheez or John Carpenter's the Thing, lets see them make a goofy kid's show outta this!

monster fights were cool but the dialogue was fucking atrocious. and the whizbang scifi gadgets were a little bit much. a fun watch but not worth $15

And when they meet again.

The monster scenes were fantastic but the writing was god awful

This reminds me of the end of Saya no Uta

There's 16 minutes of Kaiju in the movie, that's not even 20% actually. We used the camrip to measure it a week ago faggot, crawl an archive or something.

Mothra's original theme from the 60s:youtu.be/tyMbJI5SrlI
Mothra's theme from KOTM: youtu.be/XHOX1Ivyz7k

They'll most likely focus on that little reference to mechs being built on skull island or whatever. iirc something is drawing titans to the place and as we know, Kong is territorial as fuck.

I haven't seen it yet but experienced the greatest feeling ever yesterday thanks to it.

I had a vivid dream for the first time in months
>news segment like in the movie
>announcement that Rodan is heading for my city and will be here soon
>remember there's a secret shelter
>start heading there on foot
>like in a usual movie I find other people that follow me along, also clash with police
>finally make it to shelter just in time, best friend I haven't seen in 10 years is there
>suddenly sky turns red and meteorites start falling, quickly head inside
>wait inside for hours, call someone gay, everyone laughs at my superb humor
>go outside, everything back to normal "wow this Rodan didn't really do any damage at all"
>walk to city centre with friend
>suddenly sky turns red again and we can see Rodan in the distance
>as he's above the city he starts breathing fire or some heat ray that obliterates everything in its path
>we realize this time it's the real deal and just sit down laughing
>as he comes closer I slowly close my eyes and start to feel this inner peace
>WAKE UP because I died in my dream
>the feeling is still there for some seconds after waking up

I honestly never felt better, no orgasm, no great news ever came close to this feeling

what a gay story

>haha yes yes good GOYjira
>don't you want a submissive mothanese gf to species-mix with oy vey
What did ((((Rodan)))) mean by this?

We already know from the book that Kong has to leave the island because of Ghidorah's call and now he blames his replacement. So bad communication. No way this isn't ending in a truce. Sadly Kong will probably win to give him something in exchange for the second movie he never got. At this point it would be really surprising to allow Godzilla to win.

>Tywin shows up, starts berating the dumb woman for being a dumb woman
>her dumb thot daughter is eavesdropping
>she goes and does the right thing, saving the day
>no Tywin to berate Monarch
they can't figure out how to save Godzilla without killing Serizawa
So the lesson to draw here is, Tywin did nothing wrong.

Godzilla is 50 stories tall. There is no way Kong is any kind of credible threat to him.

He's a big boy now. Also he'll get electric powers.

Lmao you're talking about this like this iteration of the franchise is going to have plenty of opportunities for Rodan to show up again.

"Guys how do you think this minor character will be handled in sequels" said the idiot while the franchise crashes and burns.

same problem with every famous monster movie. like 10 minutes of monster action and 50 of literally who cast being dramatic and running away while shit happens offscreen
