POTTERY
but seriously, this show is amazing and i loved the ending, fuck you if you didn't
A reminder that people complained as much about the ending of The Sopranos back in the day as they do about the ending of Game of Thrones now. But now everybody says the end of the Sopranos was great, it’s classic TV all the way through, and they always thought that.
Just like they will with GoT ten years from now.
Probably, but that also wasn’t really the point of the ending in my interpretation.
He was always afraid of losing his family, which refers to both his real family and his organization. In the end he keeps his real family but his organization has mostly fallen apart. Then he loses both
yeesh, if people start fellating GOT in any way past season 4, i'll know the end of days is near
You mean HBO Now?
So what is the conscientious on S3 and S4? I'm really feeling they're pretty lackluster compared to 1 and 2.
People learned to love the intentional abrupt ending to Sopranos, people won't learn to love bad writing and obvious signs of rushing.
i love 3 and 4. ralphie and johnny sac are two of my favorite characters and do-you-know-who-my-fatha-was is such a wonderful doofus that most of each season is top notch to me, but i get why some people choose other seasons to appreciate more.
>one final moments people disagree on during a universally acclaimed show
>two good seasons with each one after getting exponentially worse until even the new audience that was attracted turned on the show, which is now widely regarded to turn to shit
Not a great comparison.

much like Lost, the final season was all about Tony being dead the whole time, when the screen cuts to black that's him entering Special Friend Heaven and chopping it up with Tony Uncle Whoeverthefuck, Ralph, and Tha Jackeeeeet
I always thought it was implied he died a while ago, maybe even in the coma.
Of course he died there's no debate, there are deliberate clues. We just don't see it because endings are always bittersweet and Chase wants us to Don't Stop Believin' in the joy the show brought to your life. It's a gift, really. He's not going to hurt us by closing the book on this piece of art, giving it a definitive conclusion/meaning. he leaves it open for us to think about and believin' and find our own meanin' in forever, much like the spirit of the show. Perfectly in line with the more """"supernatural"""" elements that elevated the show to GOAT
Takes some weird turns but the transition into grimdark Supranos is worth it all. I do remember thinking the whole "OH HEY LOOK IT'S TONY B THIS GUY NO ONE EVER HEARD OF WHO'S APPARENTLY LIKE A BROTHER TO ME!" thing was pretty bullshit but the stuff that came out of it was worth it
