I'm on episode 6 now and kinda on the fence.
I heard some jokes that the violence is kinda through the roof while the police doesn't really give a shit and its all true.

The cops sort of go along with the fact they exist in their town but bigger agents come into the picture later and try to get them on RICO cases and shit.

first season or first two iirc were fine, after that you realize its just a soap with violence and bikers. drop it before get hooked

Yeah I was kinda sceptic they can fill 7 seasons with meaningful content.
I'll try first season and then I'll see if I stick with it.

Season one of SoA is the weakest season; it's mostly stand-alone shit and they have the club get away with all sorts of shit with no consequences that make it boring to watch.

HOWEVER, once they put a bullet in Opie's wife's head, shit gets real and the show drastically improves. And with season 2, the show retools to remove the plot armor of the characters and put the club on the defensive and it makes for a much better experience in terms of soap opera drama.

i'd watch up to season 3, probably. it still felt decent to me that far in, but the quality does degrade over time especially after that. last two seasons in particular i just watched so i could keep up with the live threads and jackpost with everyone and laugh at the dumb show. not sure that type of hook is there now for anyone fresh into it, but there's no reason you can't drop it later in too.
i'd say finish season1, give 2 a try and possibly 3 unless you absolutely fucking hate it, but after that don't expect it to really improve.

It's alright for the first couple of seasons, but after that it's just constant "I love you, brother" in every scene, and some shitty car chase with loud music over it.

1st season doesn't pick up until near the end

seasons 2 and 3 are better than 1, show declines after that though but is still watchable up until season 5 i'd say.

No don't even waste your time. Watch Justified instead.

You watch Justified because it's a legitimately good show.
You watch SoA because it's dumb and makes you laugh.
He should do both.

Theres a whole season where their man on the inside gets raped everyday

Everytime I was about to drop the show there was a good episode to keep me watching.
It's a medicore show, but the highpoints are pretty good.

Wait till you get to the season where they travel to Ireland.
HAHAHAHAHA.
Needless to say I didn't make it to the end of that one (is it season 3 or 4?)
And then just watch the webm of the finale scene holy shit.

I recently lost my job and watched the whole fucking series.
It starts out really good but begins to spill its spaghetti around S3 and goes full retard by the end. I was genuinely glad at the end that I had nothing better to do with my time.

Jax' accent is all over the place, but he's mostly good as well
the violence gets ridiculous, especially in the last season, but it has a satisfying end
