What is the best movie of the 2010s and why is it Whiplash ?
cause it's good
There has yet to be a movie released this decade to even come close to The Bridge on the River Kwai, just give up already baka
The Turin Horse
I thought you were dead Sir Alec
I use the force
Based
but it's actually TSN though
nothing’s ever really gone
THAT'S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS!
most overrated movie of the 2010s thats for sure.
I guess Dunkirk for me
it's clearly The Social Network
Explain to me how TSN is an above-average biopic. What's the message? That you have to fuck people over to make money? Real ground-breaking stuff there, Fincher.
Urine idiot.
It’s clear that he created a social network to connect with people and in the end he ended up alone and hated.
On the other hand, it’s not what really happened anyway. The government created it to spy on people.
Maybe not created but definitely coopted
Goodbye to Language
doesn't zuckerberg have a wife and children now
>It’s clear that he created a social network to connect with people
Did he? Just seemed like he wanted to gain notoriety.
Well it has above average acting and directing for one. The cinematography is pretty decent especially considering it's digital. Do you need the message of every film to be spelled out to you? Also film doesn't have to be groundbreaking in order to be good.
>Also film doesn't have to be groundbreaking in order to be good.
No, but it has to be more than good to be the best film of the decade.
>Whiplash is a really good movie. Almost as good as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, which is the epitome of cinema
Movie quality has plummeted so hard recently that you have to lower your standards considerably from all the other decades to consider something from this decade as "great".
See
You said above the average. The Social Network is above the average. I haven't said that it's the best of the decade. I think the best films of the decade are The Turin Horse, Hard to be a God, The Hunt and Paddington 2.
>I think the best films of the decade are The Turin Horse, Hard to be a God, The Hunt and Paddington 2.
What a great argument you have there.
>Why yes, I think the best films of the decade are The Turin Horse, Hard to be a God, The Hunt and Paddington 2.
>>Why yes, I think the best films of the decade are The Turin Horse, Hard to be a God, The Hunt and Paddington 2.
AHEM
This is unironically my least favorite movie of all time
I’ve taken shits that are more interesting, well acted and thought provoking
Ive read almost everything cormac mccarthy has ever written, I’m a fan of pitt, bardem and fassbender, but my god that movie sucked
Its only redeeming quality is the if you look at it with same type of morbid curiosity about overacted, goofy shit like tdkr
God i hate that movie
I'd have to say my least favorite movie is a Clockwork Orange. It's far to edgy for me
Is there more to this film than b&w cinematography? I feel like there is going to be a 10 minute shot of some old hobo eating gruel and people call it genius.
Fincher is so Reddit.
It's more of moody film, but yes the man and the girl eat potatoes for a long period of time. If you can engage with the visual side of the film, it's very unique unpleasant experience, unlike anything i have ever seen. Hopeless and bleak. If you have never seen a Tarr film i would recommend watching Werckmeister Harmonies first. And before that i would recommend watching Tarkovsky's films so you are somehow used to long takes and visual storytelling.
