Pretty good list. A lot of my favourites are there. I would consider adding Lady Vengeance, Your Name, Audition, Battle Royale, The Happiness of the Katakuris and Godzilla
>Mother
>April Story
>Dragon Inn
it's gonna be a yikes from me user
>Battle Royale
Ive never had an urge to watch it, i already know whats going to happen
>Your Name
This list is for live action only
The Wailing is an absolute must-add
>This list is for live action only
Then you shouldn't name it >definitive list of Asian cinema
Pretty good list, desu
>Mother
>yikes
Are you really gonna try and criticise Bong Joon-ho on Yea Forums?
Nah, go away anime boy
Yes
I don't even like anime. Your Name is an exception. You'll note I didn't suggest Spirited Away or Ghibli Drama #14
Your name sucks anyway. It's an awful film where the animation is the only good thing
>not even one classic john woo movie
you have to go back
kek
Made it final, included the ONLY good Godzilla movie
>kaili blues

Woman In The Dunes is peak Japankino

>no '54
>no vs Hedorah

mcu films are better than every piece of shit in your list
Can't really call it asian if don't have movies from india/arabia/south asia. This is just a china/japan-chart (counting korea and HK as china).
Also, your list is pretty weak in diversity. Its mostly drama and thrillers with a few actions. But yoou lack a lot of films such as john woos fantastic action in The killer and Hard Boiled, a few jap horrors (hausu, ring, kwaidan, onibaba, perhaps the guinea pigs), the true wacky crazy films such as Survive Style 5+, Love Exposure, I shoot you shoot, Tokyo Decadence, some artistic 60s/70s Tokyo Drifter, Lady Snowblood, some 70s exploitation, Ai no corrida, female scorpion, Bruce Lee: enter the dragon, the big boss, 90s/00s exploitation in Ebola Syndrome, Ichi the killer, Versus. And lets not forget the whole anime-section.
And I'm not really into asian cinema, probably missing a lot also. I applaud your effort, I know it takes time to do these charts, done a few myself, I'm just saying this because you call your chart "definitive". Imo, to call it that you have have at least 250 movies, probably closer to 500-1000 if you want counting animes.
stealing this thread.
made this chart yesterday, how u guys like it. Thinking of calling it "essential dadcore"
