Hugo is unironically the best film of the century so far
Is Hugo steampunk, or clockpunk?
It's Paris in the 30s with an automaton

I thought it was pretty shit
What could you possibly find wrong with it?
What could you possibly like about it?
I was very whatever about it, felt incredibly tripe
It's been a while since I've seen it though
I’ve never wanted to be a gutter child more in my life. True kino
Any more of these kind of wallpaper?
Cinematography was incredible
The characters were engaging
The whole side plot with the old French filmmaker was beautiful
Just fell in the love with the entire world presented in the film
You should really watch it again user, give it a second chance
Literally any Wes Anderson film could be put in this thread
I absolutely loved the book when I was younger, but I never got around to watching the film. Is it a faithful adaptation?
I really liked it yeah. I guess my only beef was that it seemed like it was leading up to some mystery about the story and Hugo's father, and then blindsides you with the filmmaker plot totally left field. It was the sort of story where it felt like a mystery like that would have worked well.
Though I will say, it was a pretty magical experience when I took my kid brother, and saw the picture the automaton drew the first time, and the realization suddenly hit me meanwhile he had no clue what it was and was asking me confused, and I shushed him and told him to keep watching.
Here's the opening, you can get a feel for it if you'd like it or not
Hm, don’t really remember the book, but I think they take it a good direction though, recommend you watch it
wow it's like one of my ps3 video games only much more yellow
Honestly the plot is a little too in depth for most kids to stay engaged I think. Luckily saw it with my father and I was mature enough to stay interested. We both came out of the movie in awe
Thanks guys, I think I'll watch it with my dad tonight, he really loved the book too
Yeah I can see that, it's billed as a kids movie but not only is the plot too much for kids like you said, but the subject matter is somethiing they would have no clue about.
