Which Evil Dead movie is the best?
Which Evil Dead movie is the best?
2
1st one works as a movie. 2nd and 3rd are like shitposting. I like 3rd one the most because it is fucked up and doesn't even try.
Don't know never seen any of them. Are they actually good?
God tier
>2
Great tier
> 1 and remake
Good time travel movie
>Army of darkness
2. all of them are good but every other option is being contrarian for it's own sake
Evil Dead 2 can be looked at as a quasi-remake plus a sequel. The opening half hour is basically a retelling of the original events. The sequel begins when Ash gets thrown into the puddle and possessed.
They're all good but for different reasons.
1 was a bit rough and is old now.
2 has some comedy elements.
3 is when they just went places
If you liked the series Ash vs Evil Dead, then 2-3 would be more similar.
First is an actual horror film, second goes a little more over the top, Army is a literal shitpost put on film in a good way, and the remake is basically the first but it changes some ideas but is more hit or miss.
>The opening half hour is basically a retelling of the original events.
This was because of rights issues if I remember correctly same reason Army starts out slightly different from 2's ending.
1 is a great horror film. It's like a bad trip.
2 is one of the best meta-horror comedy films of all time
3 is fucking bonkers 3 stooges shit
I have to say army of darkness since it was the first i saw and i loved it
>Army starts out slightly different from 2's ending.
Yes, and it's funny the way they did that.
If you recall the ending of the 2nd movie, Ash gets sucked into some hole and gets sent to some medieval time, and is immediately worshiped as a hero.
In AoD, the moment he gets to that medieval time, he gets beaten and shackled.
Yeah same. Of course, I love the others too. I was even pleasantly surprised by the remake.
when i was like 12, i liked evil dead 2 the most and disliked both 1 and AOD.
at age 35, i like 2 the least. appreciate and enjoy 1, but AOD is my favorite now
Army of Darkness isn’t a “shitpost.” It was Raimi and Bruce getting the chance to make the big budget fantasy epic they had dreamed of doing.
All 3 are good for different reasons. Kinda hard to compare AOD to evil dead 1. I can take or leave the remake. Didn't keep up the tv show. Is it worth finishing?
Show drops quality after the first season.. but the ending is worth watching
2
2 > 1 = Burn Notice > Ash Vs > 3 for me.
Is Burn Notice really that good? Didn't Bruce was going full Ash in that one. What about Sam Axe standalone movie?
the movie is basically an extended episode of the series, it wasn't bad for a TV movie but the stakes were extremely low and it didn't really explain much about his character.
The series is good, but I wouldn't put it just after evil dead 2, on par with the Ash vs series for sure.
Checked. Thing is I would see Burn Notice for Ash but have no interest for the other characters, Unless they really are worth watching alongside Campbell.
Why did you put both series on top of Army of Darkness, though? I think the movie is better than the series but maybe is just the nostalgia talking there.
Bubba Ho-Tep and My name is Bruce are pretty good too.
Bur Notice has a more charismatic cast of characters than the other ones cast in Ash VS Evil Dead. They're both entertaining nonetheless.
it wasn't me, I would put 3 over both series but it's all "competitive"
Bubba Ho-Tep is probably Bruce's best movie after Army of Darkness
1 is my favorite.
2 > 1 > the last act of remake > 3 > the rest of the remake
It’s hard to compare them given that they’re all basically different genres but
3>1>2 for me
3 is basically a Ray Harryhausen epic with a slapstick comedy twist, and I love it
1 is a pretty good stripped down straight horror flick
I “got” the joke of 2 but I didn’t find it a particularly funny joke and after awhile it started to wear on my patience
I just want the Freddy vs Jason vs Ash movie
They literally already have the script because of the comic
The first will always have a special place in my heart. Dad rented it when I was a kid, while mom was away for the weekend, even the hand-made video store label on the tape looked threatening, like the tape itself was a Necronomicon. Despite dad explicitly setting it up as an over-the-top horror comedy, I pussed out for a critical 10-15 minutes, somewhere during the transformation/hacking (maybe part of the tree-rape too now that I think about it) but came back downstairs just in time to see the climax sequence. For several years, I never actually completed the film; I revisited it in college while thoroughly baked, and on that screening, the scream loosed by the brunette when she's stabbed in the back imprinted on my mind. It remains my favorite scream in a horror movie-wonderful electronic effects on it, a great piece of noise music.
ur gay dawg, remake was ass
2=3>1>Ash vs. Evil Dead >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> remake
Burn Notice is really amazing. Good side characters, Campbell is peak Campbell ham, good little plots and some cool arching villain shit. Kino Miami aesthetic helps it too. Watch it, man.
