Lots of pent up anger at being forced to study all day every day.

Blaming the nips for their shitty behavior. Yeah I buy that.

BING BINGO

Because dictators murdered influential people that preached compassion and wisdom and all that was left was retarded peasantry and sociopaths

Because Koreans got fucked by both China and Japan throughout their history and their cinema tends to reflect the feeling of han or whatever. It's also the way they achieve their catharsis. Read up on it on the internet, interesting stuff.

i like how the west didn't even have to resort to murder

*insect clicking noises*

they're not. Most of them are garbage shitty happy romance or comedy. It just most of the shits that non-koreans that are exposed to are thrillers which usually have depressing shit in them

Are they? Korean culture as a whole seems pretty positive considering all the shit they've gone through for the past 100 years. Half of their country is still run by a egomaniac Chinese puppet who has his artillery pointed squarely at their capital, military service is mandatory, they've been technically occupied by the US for as long as anyone can remember, and they still just churn out happy k-pop, romcoms, and soap operas like nobody's business.

Stop projecting and dilate

Holy shit what a horrible existence to live by.

korean culture might be positive but for some reason the most popular korean movies are all about awful people doing awful things. which is weird because korean tv is heavily sanitized (they censor smoking and tattoos, as well as force kpop groups to remove raunchy dance moves)

This is his best movie.

It's cus the art scene for film is solidly established and Korean audiences are very well educated in film watching, to such a degree that several Japanese arthouse filmmakers release their movies in Korea first, even before Japan, just because Korea appreciates those films more.

TV is rather for the normie audience that listen to K-Pop.

Ever wondered why no Korean movie ever has had K-Pop in it?

Why is Korean food so good?
