ok
Thanks for informing me
still too much for this shit
Why don't Americans like Godzilla? It was an awesome movie.
Alita #7!!!
we're only halfway done
surely there will be worse disasters
compare it with 1974 box office
>1974
>any random week there are at least 15 films that now are classics
>2019
>superhero,superhero,remake,superhero,superhero,remake
you're a big year
In 2018 movie #20 had 434 million $ box office.
What the fuck happened?
1$ was worth over 5x more back then. Also compare the population.
Holy shit these are some good movies
Yes
movie titles used to be so fucking cool
Posts like these are why I still come here
>beating out a bunch of remakes, sequels and cartoons
>a list that consists of Dragonball Super Broly
why would you brag about this? That list is shameful, and being at the top of that shit heap is nothing to be proud of.
Films has so much effort put into them, with less money and no computers. Seriously, what the FUCK happened???
I want to walk into a movie studio, slap someone on the face, then write
"MORALITY IS A FORM OF CONTROL"
SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS AND MOVIE CRITICS ARE WEAKLINGS WHO WANT TO FEEL CONTROL BY MANIPULATING YOU"
"IF THE PROFITS ARE THROUGH THE ROOF THEN IGNORE THEM"
"LAUGH AT THEM, KEEP DRIVING, NO ONE IN MIDDLE AMERICA GIVES A SHIT ABOUT BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT"
People aren't going to the movies as much. Its just a fact. Zoomers don't like them
>yfw Playmobil: The Movie opens in September
Redpill me on Bat People. Was it good?
>only know Alice in Wonderland
fuck gonna watch each and every single one of them, wish me luck
pretty much everything below Dragon was a failure yeh?
maybe they should start making good movies and not propaganda
>Dr. Beck, who specializes in bats, is bitten by a fruit bat.
>He then, inexplicably, begins to transform into a vampire bat.
>Dr. Beck unwittingly goes on a killing spree, >In the end, Cathy becomes a vampire (after having sex with Beck) and rejoins her husband in a bat cave.[2]
sounds like kino
even The Bat People?
but user, all the propaganda is above Dragon
You got more from where that came from?
most consumers prefer sequels and popcorn flicks
marvel mastered a formula which satisfies both
Still can't believe EG got this high. Many people really like a 3-hour long advertisement for superheroes.
By the end of the year like 7 out of the top 10 will be disney
really, how many years do two films exceed a billion
2020 is the crucial year.
It's the first year in quite a while with the mainstream blockbusters being largely non capeshit. Dune, new Nolan blockbuster, Bond 25, new Top Gun and more, while capeshit studios will enter that phase of releasing side side projects and 12th sequels where even the standard normalfag casuals slowly not being able to keep up and slowly losing interest. Couple that with the fact that nustarshit is already dying and that can be great hope for the industry to finally start turning. And that's only the blockbusters.
So long capekiddies.
Normal, decent white nerds love godzilla
America is 80% niggers and nigger wannabes now
like idiocracy come to life
The 2014 one was boring and I didn't want to spend money in a movie not about godzilla again.
ahh Chinese Hercules truly a modern classic.
1976
The saddest one for me on here is Shazam. Genuinely enjoyed that movie and felt it was by far the best thing to ever come from DC. Yet its their least successful financial endeavor to date
Watch The Conversation first. You're going to love it.
Ah yes 2 remakes and a sequel, certainly the death of capeshit.
I'm in.
Not really
Justice League actually lost money while Shazam didn't
No way John Wick only made $258 profit, my ticket was $8 on it's own. How much do they pay these people?
>getting sad about a kids movie
fucking off yourself and/or never breed
Shazam still didn't do all that bad because it had such a tiny production budget. Considering he's a relatively unknown superhero, its what you'd expect.
is this a meme
shaq's not the big name he was
as for the real film - nobody wants to see that short of shit it's 2019. one look at that fuckin suit. oh great it's another half-parody of the campy super heros right right kick ass all that. that shit was not wanted either
Disgusting, what cinema has turned into. No wonder even the low iq normies are getting turned off by all these endless soulless cgi remakes and sequels when they can watch game of thrones for free at home.
>Shaq
Nigga what?
>buhh
user...
>only 1 disney film and it's a re-release
we can make this happen again, universalbros
>drive at #40
what the
>the only reason I come here is to read shitposts and post stupid shit
Go away
you're comparing a year-to-date chart with a single week chart. the single week chart for may 3-9, 2019 looks far more diverse
No. Dipshit Gen Ztards are responsible for high numbers on shitty films. That generation of morons hates good cinema. They crave shallow mindless movies that match their own personalities and existence. Most of the older generations have abandoned theaters because they are sick of stupid movies and their retarded sequels. To maximize profits most movies now are made for the Gen Ztards too stupid to care what they watch so long as posting about what they have seen on social media makes them popular.
DUDE A BIG MONKEY LMAO
>why no like stupid kids movie?
Aggressive monkeys demolishing cities isn't anything out of the ordinary in the US.
t. American
>Monkey
My visage when Yea Forums has been railing against capeshit for a fucking decade and the hollywood tards are finally starting to realize the hole to hell that has been dug by the mouse
Detective flopachu is one of the highest grossing films of the year, what's happening
Jesus Christ there are like 20 great movies there. Compare this to the garbage we got in 2019.
Cinema is dead.
Last year had 5.
Everything that's not MCU flops. Movies are so shit pretty much nobody cares anymore.
Won't be surprised if Star Wars IX can't hit a billion.
i haven't seen any of those movies
In an ideal world this would tell the film industry that they need to dial it back and stop basing their entire financial plan on $200 Million blockbusters that need to make $1 Billion each to be successful, and make a return to more interesting, auteur driven, modestly budgeted flicks that can be successful if they only make $100 Million lifetime
They won't though and all this means is that Disney is one step further to just outright buying Hollywood
>Longshot
>Uglydolls
>Breakthrough
This is even worse. What the fuck is this shit? I've never even heard of these movies.
The only movie I would consider to watch from the top 25 is Tim Burton's Batman rerelease.
>three musketeers
>golden voyage of sinbad
Based.
we have truly fallen upon dark times
Damn, I guess you’re right then. I remember being so excited being in school in the 80s and seeing up and coming films, and watching Film Club’s movies at my high school. Serious talent, and now we just have all this fucking dogshit
>there is another great gatsby movie
is it good lads?
not as good as Blazing Saddles
>Murder by death
Fun things die if they eat dog food
captain marvel and engame will be classic in 2080.
the capeshit of it's time
>implying there will be a 2080
apologize
#561 when?
check’d and kek’d
>far more diverse
and that’s a good thing!
haha your board is never going back to the way you like it
they wouldn’t listen anyway. but it’s a noble thought user.
it’s propaganda all the way down
your kind is dying old man
How did you even notice that
where do you think we are?
I think you’ve been rused
imdb.com
Soon.
cant wait
>super cops
Based
See you in /bbg/
Why didn't he become a fruit bat?
I’m doing this right now irl
the fruit bat was actually a vampire bat
was he in the closet or something?
Let cinema die. The studios. The films. The theatres. Let it all die.
he was probably a mutt
was this Rian's plan all along?
This one's really good though. Lots of monster battles and shit.
aren’t we all?
yeah but like an animal
charred and smoking hopefully
What will 2050 look like?
remakes of everything on the 2019 list
Cry niggers. Capeshit (and by Capeshit I mean the capekino that is mcu) isn't ending anytime soon neither is its box office gross. Capetard is the next stage of evolution for /tv. Hail Marvel!
>The Wandering Earth
Literally what the fuck is this
1970s are the best modern decade for film in the US, it's almost an unfair comparison
Chinese movie ripping off an Invader Zim episode
...
>boomers can't into kin-
>redpilled.
>STOOOOOP!
I’m crying now, thanks
>doesn't get the joke because autism
>the sting
>the great gatsby (no faggot DiCaprio)
>blazing saddles
>the exorcist
Wew
Niggers love monster movies, faggot. Godzilla was mostly dipshits with no charisma pretending to be afraid.
You should start your car in your garage (make sure the garage door is closed) and rev the engine until you pass out and eventually die.
>My kid movie is better
Lmao...
Sounds too painless tbqh
Based
Complete shitshow
Shazam at #8 isn't bad at all. Nicely done.
And really Aladdin is at #4?
What about inflation?
>Serpico
>Zardoz
>The Outfit
>Thieves Like Us
Yes, white America was horrible.
360 million box office is a joke. It's only #8 because this year is a complete disaster.
About 505%. But market was so different back then it's a pointless comparison.
>True Grit 50th Aniversary
>$276,418
I went to that cause True Grit is my favorite John Wayne film and my ticket was $16 for a matinee.
Means like 18k people max went to it
>capeshit begins to fizzle in 2020
No. You're 100% wrong. Disney's X-Men universe can last a good 15 years on its own. Then consider Avengers x X-Men crossovers. Plus, Fantastic Four.
>Alita in top 10
OH HO HO HO NO NO NO NO JEROMEFAGS BTFO
The Rise of Skywalker will top that really fast
It won't even hit 1 billion.
>only one Disney in the top 50. It will never happen again..
Zardoz right behind Serpico! Lmfao yes I love that movie.
Godzilla is now losing to Elton John
>Dragon ball chadly raped a few normiecore movies
FUCKING BASED
>3.6x its budget is a joke
ok
>Sources tell Variety that Collet-Serra is in negotiations to direct Johnson in the New Line film “Black Adam,” based on the DC Comics character.
>According to insiders, the film is a priority for the studio following the success of “Shazam!” in addition to the hype surrounding Johnson’s first entry into the superhero realm. As for Collet-Serra, “The Shallows” director has been a front-runner for the film ever since his work with Johnson and producers Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Beau Flynn on Disney’s “Jungle Cruise.”
>“Shazam!” premiered in April with Zachary Levi starring and went on to become a huge success for the studio grossing $367 million worldwide.
>only 12 films have earned $100 mil domestic so far this year
Gee, I wonder why.
Alladin has great legs? I guess that's the Disney remake magic for you. Jungle Book had sorta the same thing.
old man yells at cloud
>every movie has a political anti-trump agenda
>people stop going
lmao
this is bad bait but knowing Yea Forums they will lap it up
>70% overseas
needs to be higher
>video games are dying
>movies are dying
>comics are dying
>Fucking card games are dying
SJW were a mistake
It's probably because there is no reason to go to the theater anymore. The movies wind up on Blu-Ray or Digital three months later.
Back in the 1970s, home video didn't even exist as we know it.
This is all because they hate literally one person. They're fucking obsessed
The media isn't dying, the distributors are. Who do you think cares the most about box office?
only capeshit moves tickets and even dark phoenix bombed. the collapse of jewlywood is nigh.
>teenage cheerleaders
You have my attention.
Z A R D O Z
A
R
D
O
Z KINO
Without capeshit, the film industry would be fucked
Except this one is about Godzilla, have you seen the trailers?
wtf this card should not exist
The cinema was for grown ups back then
At what point did Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar become the only game in town? With a few notable exceptions, it feels like everyone else is competing for table scraps.
I’m surprised the daft cunts haven’t understood this yet, don’t they actually have anyone at all working on research, with wits who is internet savvy?
What are we looking at here
Fuck off fake satan Pixar is based
Star Wars is pretty close to dead, though.
Imagine being you
>3.6
Not great, not terrible.
>Pixar in 2019
>based
Grow up.
>Drive was over 40 years ago
based.
I miss this lil nigga like you wouldn't believe.
despite opening at 2x
>Pokemon couldn't even beat how to train your dragon
Embarrassing
When movies weren't for tweens
More faithful to the book, serious, romantic, and less hyped up musical, probably better than leo, is redford, mia farrow and coppola wrote the screenplay
