Given similar casting controversies we've come to recognise, weren't they just taking roles away from disabled and little people?

Yeah Warwick should've been one of the hobbits

Fuck disabled and little people, this kino is back from a time when they weren't given the time of day

They were halflings, not dwarves. The dwarves should’ve been little people (wait, were they?)

Is this effay?

Fuck off . This came a long time after Willow. I will bring this up to chapo trap house and they'll ensure LOTR is cancelled

hobbits aren't disabled you mong, they are perfectly healthy small-statured folk.
using deformed and disabled 'actors' to portray them would be an insult

John Rhys Davies who played Gimli was the tallest member of the cast iirc

they're short, but not as short as hobbits

kek, how can one man be so based.

They're hobbits, not humans with a malfunction.

I'm reminded of what Peter Jackson said when he was making the film.

"Main is temporary, Film is forever."

No matter what changes happen, LOTR will remain as it was made, forever untarnished by changes in culture and ideals.

Warwick Davis
Peter Dink
Wee-Man
Vern Troyer

But who is who?

Hobbits aren't midgets, they're just very short people. Think like Joe Rogan, Lionel Messi, Annasophia Robb, etc., those are halflings.

every hobbit and gimli had like 3-4 actual dwarves each acting as the scale doubles, stand-ins, photo doubles, and scale stunt doubles.

Is this a subtle Warwick Davis thread?

In the Tolkien universe did any other race ever get with a hobbit? All I know about mixing were elves and men. Were there ever any men and hobbit couples? Or dwarves/men, elves/hobbits, etc, just any combo really.

The people you named are dwarves, halflings are shorter.

Maia/Elf for sure

The point was to portray hobbits as relatable creatures that are like the normal, daily life version of ourselves. Casting a human with a noticeable condition would misrepresent that.

I refuse to believe that some drinking in the prancing pony while hobbits were visiting Bree didn't end with a man and a shortstack halfling having sex that would make Sauron blush

Honestly I always assumed that was just what happened to the hobbits and dwarves. They don't all leave like the elves, they don't get massacred like the orcs, they just sort of merged into human society over time and that's where really short people come from.

No dwarves have a specific origin, user, Eru got all pissed off about it too

Haha love willow. Amazing film

origin?? we're talking about what happened to them by the end

Nevermind, I read that wrong

Based

Other than the feet, hobbits have the same proportions as normal sized humans, not fucked rl dwarf proportions. Also this

Robert Downey Junior would've been a pretty good Frodo.

Then why is Samwise Gamgee have retard?

>H-HOBBITS AREN'T DISABLED OR DEFORMED IN A-ANY WAY!!! T-THEY ARE ARYAN UND TRADVOLKPILLED EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE ABOUT AS USEFUL IN COMBAT AS NUGGETS WITH NO L-LIMBS AND WOULD BE SENT TO AUSCHWITZ TO BE MENGELE EXPERIMENTS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
