What?

I dare someone to name an actor more based than Brando. The story of him eating 51 eggs in front of Paul Newman is the funniest shit I've ever read.

>your most famous work is the time you shoved a stick of butter up somebody's ass
His most famous work is undoubtedly Vito Corleone, though.

>He was an avid user of the Internet in his final years, often going into chat rooms to start arguments.

wait 100 years and see what the history books will show

I'll be dead though, Satan. And it's already been 47 years since both were made and Godfather is the more prevailing and well known of his work, even if Paul was his best performance.

Brando didn't think acting was a complete joke at all.
He took the craft of it incredibly seriously, and formally studied it.

His success isn't just innate talent, it's hard work and a respect for the art of his profession. He used formal technique to act, which he learnt from Stella Adler:

The same technique that Mark Ruffalo, Benicio Del Toro, Robert Deniro, Salma Hayek & Sean Astin use.

Although it seems plausible given Brando's personality, this is almost certainly untrue.

>Said that the only reason he continued to make movies was in order to raise the money to produce what he said would be the "definitive" film about Native Americans. The film was never made.

Post it

He repeatedly ragged on acting. He considered it "a bum's profession." He certainly had an enthusiasm for it as a young student, and he may have been the most naturally gifted actor of all time, but saying he took it seriously beyond 1951 is disingenuous at best.

>Brando was extremely competitive, and in 1968 he appeared at a private party celebrating Oscar nominations in which Paul Newman was in attendance with his wife Joanne Woodward. Brando approached Newman and began a conversation that eventually became very heated, resulting in Brando shouting and Newman walking away. Later that evening Brando stood on a table and challenged Newman to an egg eating contest, like the one Newman was depicted doing in Cool Hand Luke, however Newman ignored the challenge.

>Brando, undeterred, had somebody from his entourage bring him dozens of hard boiled eggs, and started the competition without Newman. While eating, he would loudly keep count as he consumed the eggs saying things like "21 Newman! 21 eggs already! I'm better than you Newman!", while mocking and insulting Newman the whole time, and calling him a "phony".

>Eventually, Brando consumed 51 eggs before being removed from the party, 1 more than Newman's character did in Cool Hand Luke. As he was being escorted out, he reportedly said "51 eggs Newman! I beat you! You couldn't eat 51 eggs because you're a phony, Newman. I'm better than you, and always will be Newman! Don't ever forget that!"

>True Hollywood Tales 1997

Yes, and?

>Eventually, Brando consumed 51 eggs before being removed from the party, 1 more than Newman's character did in Cool Hand Luke.
peak pettiness

Literally 95% of male actors are faggots.

Amazin

>His second wife Movita, who had a lock put on their refrigerator to stop pilfering by what she thought was the household staff, awoke one morning to find the lock broken and teeth marks on a round of cheese. The maid told her that Brando nightly raided the fridge. Movita also related how he often drove down to hot dog stands late at night (one of his favorite spots was the legendary Pink's Hot Dogs in Hollywood; it was open 24 hours a day, and Brando would go there at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and polish off a half-dozen hot dogs at a time).
