What is your favorite black and white movie Yea Forums.

To me it's "the wages of fear".

First part is a bit slow in order to introduce all the character but then it's a rollercoaster.

It aged very well

I enjoyed this as well. Good choice.

Alexander Nevsky.

It's a great movie but the second half is so much better than the first half.

Yeah but i'm on Yea Forums right now because i want your opinion user

gtfo of this board if you don't want to discuss movies

It's A Wonderful Life is clearly my fav B&W-film

But there are a few that uses the colorless medium better in terms of cinematography/mood:
Psycho
The Seventh Seal
M
Black Sunday
Citizen Kane
The Night of the Hunter
High and Low
and probably a few more that I'm forgetting.

It's too bad that B&W-lightning is a lost art nowadays. When I saw The Artist after all the hype it had got I was really dissapointed with it's cinematography, it felt so gray, bland, boring. There was so little contrast in it. But then again, I'm not a film creator so perhaps I missed something.

Black and white is not a genre you fucking mongoloid. That's as retarded as asking what your favourite color movie is.

more like wedgies of fear fuCkIng nerd LOL

Whoa, calm down tranny.

>The Teutonic Knights invade and conquer the city of Pskov with the help of the traitor Tverdilo and massacre its population. In the face of resistance by the boyars and merchants of Novgorod (urged on by the monk Ananias), Nevsky rallies the common people of Novgorod and in a decisive Battle of the Ice, on the surface of the frozen Lake Peipus or Chudskoe, they defeat the Teutonic knights. The story ends in the retaken Pskov, where the ordinary foot-soldiers are set free, the surviving Teutonic knights will be held for ransom, and Tverdilo is swarmed over by the vengeful people (and supposedly torn to pieces).

Ed Wood

This is a great movie and I was always surprised by how good Sorcerer (the US remake) is.

Birth of a Nation
He Walked byDe Night
Scarlet Street
Blast of Silence
Detour
The Hitchhiker
Shanghai Jesture

Tied between Andrei Rublev and Ordet.
I also really enjoyed the modern black and whites like A Field in England, Hard to be a God, and November.
