Nothing deep about either of these I'm afraid. We know too little about the Blade Runner EU and Ridley already retconned Alien beyond repair.

deepest lore: there's one of these for coffee

What did you think of the three canon shorts released ahead of 2049?

Weylan was the beer

>The coffee one looks like a phone battery bar
>coffee is fuel
Kino

I hope if a third Blade Runner is made that we never go off world. The world building is aided in these kinos by not showing everything.

Aw yiss. Hadn't seen them. Link/sauce?

?

one's the timeline loki escaped in and the other is where nebula died

It's all just fictional. The real world is more fascinating and far more intricate than any of these fictional universes you choose to reside in within your mind.

So?

I just recently found out Kurt Russel 'Soldier' is also in the Blade Runner/Alien universe. Did not know that

>muh connected universe
its just easter eggs you fucking retards, these movies barely have any thematic similarities and do not complement each other at all

Attached: neetsche.jpg (524x400, 26K)

Do you know about the bonus situation?

>Gibs me deep lore.

Watch Soldier with Kurt Russell, its about a military replicant and seems like it would fit well in either universe.

Not that guy but blackout was best
Regardless of the anime

It only convinced me that Blade Runner would be perfect as anime

I thought he was a normal human while the replacements were engineered.

Apart from >muh Mercer, there is no deep lore. Blade runner sucks

Its not really definitive either way.

They call the replacements "the new series". Its possible that Kurt and his men are just normal humans trained from birth to be soldiers and they're being replaced by engineered replacements or its possible Kurt and his men were engineered too and they're just being replaced by newer, younger and supposedly better engineered soldiers. Although it does seem clear that at least Kurt's generation doesn't have the artificially short lifespan of a Bladerunner replicant.

>deep lore
does this count?

theres some youtube channels covering deepest lore from the movies and other media like comics too, it gets pretty kino

Have you played the "Blade Runner," the 1997 point-and-click adventure? It's meant to be canon, and even feature some of the original cast as voice actors, so it should be full of lore.

>or its possible Kurt and his men were engineered too
They did a really shitty job engineering the fat slow slob if that's the case.

He wasn't really that slow, he just couldn't keep up with the others on a 15 mile run so they greased him.

It's been a grip, but in my head I see him as a fatty.

Kurt and his crew were natural humans. The bald Asians were genetically engineered.

you can try this
>Crime does not pay

I get Plissken and MacCready, but what are the other two from?

You know that there was transsexual person in Alien franchise long before it become SJW agenda?

Guess you never watched Stargate (movie) and Captain Ron?

Aw fuck. Well now I feel like an asshole.

Sometimes I like to watch Alien and speculate on the derelict ship and space jockey while pretending Prometheus and Covenant don't exist.

I'll recommend Predator 2 and obviously Predator 1 if you haven't seen it. Predator 2 is a solid action movie set in what was at the time a near future (1997) dystopian LA that's been taken over by various gangs. A lot of people skip Predator 2 because its poorly reviewed but I think its a pretty solid entry albeit not the classic that the original was.

Pic related connects it to Aliens.

>Alien Universe

Outland dude. Its freaking awesome, it was made the same year as the original Alien so it has the same retro future 70s aesthetic and its set on a mining colony on one of Jupiter's moons that's controlled by a corrupt mega corporation.

And it stars Sean Connery as the Sheriff.

P2 is underrated. Not good as P1 but still.

amazing
they put this shit in when nobody would really imagine someone stopping their vcr and reading the whole thing
yet it's profound enough to expand on the cold corporate ethics of weyland-yutani
baffles my mind how well crafted movies were even when the chance of people noticing the craft in detail were almost 0

Nigga it's a mug.

stop

Cash is Tango & Cash

where can these be viewed

No fucking way that's great. I love it when they do this shit in a way you don't even fucking notice. Although from what I've heard the fucking producers hated Veroinca Cartwright's ass for some reason so this might just be them subtly shitting on her for being a pain when making the first movie.

Do Prometheus and Alien: Revenant establish the true canon of the period before Alien? Or is Alien still independent and can we theorize what happened before Alien, outside of what we've seen in the 2 prequels?

I got a good bit of production lore. The production of Alien 3 was famously a massive fuck-up on every single level. Here's a blog by Ralph Brown, who played Aaron '85' in the film. He got to choose his own character because Fincher liked him so he chose to play the everyman character who lives till the end, only to find that the entire script had been rewritten a few days into filming and his character was now mentally retarded and would die half-way through. Except he'd already filmed scenes wherein he was playing the everyman and had commited to it. So if ever wonder why '85' doesn't seem that stupid there's why. The rest of his story's great too though, read it here:

Well it is cannon but you don't have to pay attention to them. It's a fucking movie dude.

>Do Prometheus and Alien: Revenant establish the true canon of the period before Alien?
Yes.
>is Alien still independent and can we theorize what happened before Alien
Covenant takes place in 2104 and the first Alien film is 2122. That give you 18 years of room to theorise what happens in that time.

>seems like it would fit well in either universe.
Which is all the more reason to be convinced it's in neither.

Sigourney is a bitch

>seems like

Reading comprehension not your strong suite ehh chief?

Apparently she's actually really lovely for the most part. She was a bitch on the set of Alien 3 though. Not hard to see why, a 40 year old actress who received an oscar nomination on the back of what was essentially a sci-fi b-movie in a sequel that was rapidly going out of control, plus she had a huge degree of influence on the script/direction even though the script was obviously a dog (or maybe an ox) and you can see why she was so stuck-up about the whole thing. She apparently apologised to the cast at the premiere so I wouldn't completely write her off.

Is Soldier actually worth watching, I've never heard anything good about it.

I enjoyed it. Its not an amazing movie but its a solid scifi action flick. If you like the genre I'd watch it.
