Shinji doesn't have chestnut hair. He has the same dark brown hair and blue eyes Gendo has.
And Anno wanted Shinji to have blue eyes to represent innocence. Character designer and manga author, Yoshyuki Sadamoto wanted Shinji to have brown eyes to represent the everyman.
So anime Shinji has blue eyes, manga Shinji has brown.
Both are examples of creative liberties taken with the characters to not be exactly like reality.

Actually from my experience, many of her fans are in denial about just how broken and dependent on Nerv she truly is. Once her one role in it as pilot comes to an end, she literally ceases to function.

If people are really fans of Japaense animation, why do they need anything else? No one needs live action Evangelion. It probrably would not work as live action and certainly not as a series of Hollywood films.

Anyone who thinks there should be an Evangelion live action movie is a moron. I remember back in high school in the 90s after seeing Eva it might be cool. I foolishly had faith in Hollywood back then.

Plus, what the hell is wrong with it just being an animated series. Maybe it works best, maybe only works, in that format. Not everything needs to be a Hollywood movie.
