Keanu is unique because of his part-chinese/hawaiian look, so he can get away with being the "wooden" actor with 1-2 emotional ranges. Keanu can play sad and angry, but he can't really do more sophisticated stuff like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who is a serious actor. the same can be said of Tom Cruise, he's a meme action hero A-lister like Keanu but not a real thespian like Nikolaj.
having said that, Keanu has nailed the "nascent hero" character trope very well because he can play that blank, clueless type who slowly learns and then becomes angry/sad based on which supporting characters die.
