Felt like I was dying standing there watching this thing sneak around. Gained composure and ran, never looked back. We drove back 2 or so hours and didn’t speak a word to each other. I almost stumbled on an old stump in the water, and I could see the thing lurch forward as I almost fell, black eyes widened, as if it intended to capitalize on the moment. That’s when we both took off, racing back towards our truck. I dropped a Bennelli shotgun in the water if that tells you anything about how scared I was.
