Dunkirk

Literally and unironically the best Nolan film since Memento.
It's the first Nolan film without the usual Nolan flaws (no constant shoved exposition, no overwritten dialogue, no too complex storyline, no poor close quarter choreography) seems like he finally listened to all of the critiques.
Pure visual storytelling, The Wages of Fear in a war setting. Also one of the better theater experiences of recent time.
Good shit. The Stuka sounds were amazing is IMAX.
It’s fantastic. It’s a little different when you’re not in a theater though.
>in IMAX*
It's a shit, in a hilarious way.
>3 planes and 3 boats fight over a pristine beach
>EPIC BATTLE BRO
Air scenes were kino.
The focus of the film isn't the battle, you retard. The battle itself was already over by the beggining of the film.
Is it me or do the ratio keep changing in the IMAX version?
A true plot point mental midget repellent.
I quite liked it, but I imagine the theater experience is way better than watching it at home.
Yes it changes.
I'd say it's far better executed than the aspect ratio changes in his previous films, the smaller aspect ratio here in the interior scenes only added more to the tension and claustrophobia.
I liked Tom Hardy flying the plane and wearing the mask
it does. certain shots are a much larger aspect ratio
I get why the average person would hate this, but I loved it. It's just pure visual storytelling, lean and cuts all the bullshit exposition Nolan uses to move his stories usually.
The scenes on the rescue boat with the father and two sons told a fantastic little coming of age story on it's own. Even the moments like getting the injured guy in the stretcher across the bridge and all the soldiers start celebrating felt so genuine.
Yeah man, spitfires have amazing gliding capabilities lmao. What did they mean with this scene ?
Hope it will get a re- release in imax soon.
Score was great
There are cases of Spitfire pilots gliding for more than 18 miles user, as long as he reached atleast 120mph before his engine was turned off he can glide for a pretty damn long time, and the entire air narrative in the films portrays a single hour so he was gliding for mere minutes.
Pure kino.
Tom?
>There are cases of Spitfire pilots gliding for more than 18 miles
It needs to be in the fucking stratosphere to achieve that, and all the planes in this movie fly at 300m for some reason. Also needless to say it couldnt manoeuvre, let alone shoot down an enemy.
>It needs to be in the fucking stratosphere to achieve that
No it doesn't. You clearly don't know a fucking thing about physics in general.
>Also needless to say it couldnt manoeuvre
Why? Not having fuel doesn't mean every function of the plane suddently becomes not operational for some reason.
I think you overestimate the aeronautics in general. A spitfire with its engine off is barely better than a brick.
shit like all Nolan films. same clunky problems as his other shit
the hydraulics still work, you can still turn and strafe the plane. that's why emergency landings are a thing. go fly a plane dude and learn a thing or two, then come back here and try to argue with more advanced and experienced gentlemans
bait
Faggot jew wanking about piece of shit race traitor brits.
Glad I will get to see England burn in my lifetime. Fucking retarded cucks.
>spitfire
>hydraulics
lol
Under a certain speed the plane is
not manoeuvrable, and we're talking about a ww2 plane here.
Good
Boring as fuck and extremely flawed. The inside of the boat story was tv-movie tier. A really not good movie.
fucking kek
She’s a Thot
Amazing. Should've won best picture & director
all women are big news
>What Yea Forums thinks of it?
I have downloaded it like a year or so ago. I'm still trying to motivate myself to get to watch it. I'll get to it one of these days i mean, but in a way i already don't care about it really. It's never going to top the prestige or memento imo.
it sucked
JUST DO IT
Haven't seen it but my dad tolde me it was boring as fuck. Only one plane in the entire movie for example. Is that true?
Fuck your dad.
Is your dad by any means a tranny?
since we are talking about Nolan can someone explain to me why Inception is that great?
Heard so many people say that this is their favorite movie and a 10/10. I have never watched it and when I finally did I didn't get the praise at all.
I didn't really care about any of the characters also not Leo with his dumb bitch wife. Also the characters where hollow cliché figures with stupid dialogue explaining their pseudo dream science for an eternity.
The setting felt dull and depressing but that might be to the dream world premise, which I didn't find that great and mind blowingly interesting.
Also the action was stupid video game james bond crap that didn't make me go wowee at all.
I didn't even watch the movie in one sitting it was that uninteresting.
That being sad Dunkirk was ten times better even tho the setting wasn't that realistically portrayed because muh practical effects.
Even though I really appreciated the real fighter planes they used.
lmao so it's true then? The luftwaffle was a major participant in this battle, the air battles should be epic.
Trannie son of a trannie father. Neck yourself
