They're bring Daria back! But not quite. It's a spin-off staring the black girl that no one remembers or ever cared about. Also:
>Jodie is the first in what MTV Studios hopes will become the "Daria universe," which in success would feature multiple TV series and films and honor the history of MTV Animation. Additional details about other series and films was not available.
>The new Jodie, which hails from the same writer — Grace Nkenge Edwards (Insecure) — will be centered around Daria's friend, an African American character from the original series who was credited with helping to shape a generation of women. The series will follow Jodie as she comes into her own and enters the workplace in her first post-college job in tech. Other former students from Daria's Lawndale High will also appear. Jodie will satirize workplace culture, Gen Z struggles, themes of empowerment across gender and racial lines and explorations of privilege.
>The Daria show was among the first slate of projects to get the revival treatment, part of a larger effort by Viacom's MTV Studios to sell to third-party outlets and further monetize its rich programming vault. The studio, overseen by MTV, VH1 and Logo president Chris McCarthy, was launched last year and has already sold a new take on The Real World to Facebook Watch as well as revivals of Punk'd and Singled Out to Quibi.
>MTV Studios is also developing series based on Aeon Flux and Celebrity Deathmatch and is prepping a documentary films division, which longtime HBO exec Sheila Nevins will oversee.
John Scott
>the "Daria" universe Did they forget it's part of the Beavis and Butthead Universe?
Levi Cook
>an African American character from the original series who was credited with helping to shape a generation of women
what? Even huge Daria fans don't care about her character too much
Andrew Lee
wtf my girl wouldn’t agree to this
Nolan Richardson
Am a huge Daria fan. Can attest to the veracity of your statement. Won't even consider giving this abomination of a sequel a chance.
Logan Rivera
Oh so this is the show that poisoned the mind of millions of thots. MTV Is a like propaganda machine.
Brandon Harris
Daria was proto SJW faggotry for gen Xers anyway
Kevin Sanders
Yea Forums(nel) is ten times worse at poisoning the minds of the youth, you guys trying this pearl clutching shit is absurd
Aiden Reyes
>daria universe you've got to be fucking kidding me
The point of her character was that she's unhappy due to being singled out and put on a pedestal with her boyfriend because pseudo liberals want to show how good they are.
And now she's getting singled out and put on a pedestal.
I liked it but if you look at the history, Daria exists because of the same type of SJW bullshit here. They didn't even tell Mike Judge because MTV owned the rights to the character, even though he created her. But it was still created and written by other B&B writers/producers, so it was good.
Ethan Peterson
Really I aways liked Daria cause she was deadpan and hated normies is it because I've not seen I in years I thought that was her whole shtick?
Aaron Morris
Why doesn't Mtv die already?
Isaiah Gonzalez
is this not exactly what the Jodie character was against? is this not the complete opposite of a large portion of what made Daria great?
Zachary Nelson
DIARRHEA was always a garbage character, a garbage tv show for fat girls, and belongs in the dumpster.
Fact: They forced Daria onto Beavis and Butthead to counter the male oriented focus of Beavis and Butthead. Literally a creation of the Feminist Network heads at MTV.
Fact: On Beavis and Butthead all Daria ever did was call Beavis and Butthead stupid or explain a plot point to them. Utterly worthless character.
Fact: Mike Judge never cared for Daria and that's why he isn't credited for the gay spinoff. That's why Daria was only referenced once in the Reboot Season.
Honestly the only good thing about Daria was Quinn who I'd appreciate more Rule 34 of.
Landon Jackson
>Gen Z struggles So they're retconning a show about a young Gen X'er or early millenial or whatever to make them zoomers.
Levi Morales
Women love their Teen Mom. It's essentially the White Trash Kardashians.
Lincoln Morris
I'm under the impression Mike Judge did not even know they were making it and never watched it.
Jeremiah Johnson
>Honestly the only good thing about Daria was Quinn who I'd appreciate more Rule 34 of. Your wifu is shit. -t. Sandy
Ian Johnson
>Even huge Daria fans don't care about her character too much
Well, it's pretty much illegal to have a show with mainly white people. They would have made up some other minority if they couldn't hamfist an existing one.
Aaron Reyes
>as a kid >think all characters are a cartoonish unrealistic stereotypes except the black students who are the most normal and boring >as an adult >realize the black serious characters are a joke
Juan Hughes
Progressive beavis and butthead next.
Liam Gutierrez
So it’s about shitting on white people while lying to brown ones that they’re oppressed and deserve the world.
Isaiah Hill
They graduated in 99 or so, they should be entering their 40s now...
This is gonna be Sadgasm all over again - remember when Homer Simpson was at Woodstock? And then he had a grunge band in the 90s!
Leo Baker
That's what Daria was created to be
Thomas Mitchell
Yup
Andrew Ward
Do you have a single fact to back that up
Isaiah Morgan
>(Watching hip-hop music videos from the 2000's)
>Uhuhuhuhuh Heay Beavis
>Hrrm-hrmmm- uh- YEAH?
>Uhhh... black chicks have big butts
>THAT'S RACIST, S-SHUT UP YOU... YOU.... SHITLORD
>Have thecks, buttmunch
>HEY BUTT-HEAD >WHY DO BLACK WOMEN ALL ACT LIKE >... YOU KNOW... >WOKE FEMINISTS AND STUFF IN 2019 WHEN THEY WERE ALL LIKE... >SHAKING THEIR BUTTS FOR DRUG DEALERS AND PIMPS IN 2009
Ok hollywood, basic fucking psychology your kike masters keep ignoring: Audience members need a protagonist they can relate to, and sex and skin color is the biggest and easiest ways they can link to your stories. White people, with money, even cryptokikes, want to see white people. They don't care about the story of a protagonist that they cannot self identify with.
Lucas Jackson
The black girl is the worst thing about Daria, she just appears to virtue signal. Translated to modern day terms, she is nothing but the "smug soul sista who points out everyday racism" annoying archetype.
