Literally nothing happens, filming some sticks in the woods for 80 minutes

>literally nothing happens, filming some sticks in the woods for 80 minutes
>movie cuts to black when it finally gets interesting

How did they get away with it?

I fell asleep while watching it so I have no clue what you're talking about

s*ys like the movie because of
>muh slow horror without screamers

brainlets will never understand this movie

Unironically one of the best horror movies ever made.

Who gives a fuck about intense plot?

They never show the monster, which makes it way scarier

"found footage" before it was a thing and actually made it super intense

Good marketing campaign that fooled people into thinking it was real

Instead of a "we beat the monster by exploiting its one weakness" bullshit ending, it's left confusing and creepy, and people still talk about its ending to this day.

The chick character was a smug, smarmy film student and played the character well. The Mike character was just sort of a grumpy asshole. They don't really get along or come of as good people. You NEVER see this in horror movies, the main character is also some kind-hearted protagonist who only has good intentions.

Overall, extremely kino and now I want to watch it again.

I mean screamers suck. The only good horror movie ever made is The Thing and everything else can only be decent by imitating it.

Also, no need for "why don't they just call the police" or "why don't they just leave" bullshit that plagues modern horror movies, requiring some shoehorned excuse about their phone getting no reception, followed by them never even trying to check it again. This was before cell phones, and the entire movie they are actively using all their resources to try to escape the forest.

Fuck modern horror movies

Nice meme, but is IS genuinely more scary to not show the monster. Some faceoff against a demon with a rotting face is gay child-tier movie shit.

Blair Witch does have some jump scares but they're not some flash of a demon's face in the mirror.

The thing about jumpscares is true though, they aren't scary they're just startling. Everything else is spot on though

Stop consuming sóy

>bw does have some jump scares
When?

Pretty neat.

Are you a literal child? Do you actually find jumpscares to be scary?

People thought it was real and it is scary if you think it's real, but then it turns out it's not real and the movie becomes boring.

>people still talk about its ending to this day.

no one really talks about this movie nowadays lol

>literally talking about it right now

i remember when it came out there was a website written by heathers cousin or something that helped sell the IT ACTUALLY happened angle the viral marketing for Blair Witch was pretty groundbreaking tbf

It really was. Everyone was asking if it was real or not. You couldn’t just pull up the Wikipedia article back then.

Jesus Christ talk about a fucking soi post

If I wanted jumpscares I'd just go and get an eye exam where they blow the air into your fucking eye. Same thing.

If I wanted to laugh I'd have my girlfriend tickle me. Same thing.

Being startled is scared. Stop chugging onions and collecting funko pops.

did they ever find those kids?

>girlfriend

Is the concept of a girlfriend that unbelievable to you? That's sad man.

What does Yea Forums think about the most recent Blair witch?

That’s a very good point. I don’t remember another movie with such a successful viral marketing campaign until Cloverfield in ‘08. For millennials, that was kind of our Blair Witch, just a kaiju film instead of horror.

>adult man actually gets startled by jump scares
>it is somehow emasculating to not be spooked by them any more
Okay bud, whatever helps you cope with being a pleb. You’re honestly perfect for he kikes in Hollywood who need a mouth to shit into so they can make profitable cheap horror flicks.

it was another time.
I link to you a kino version instead

I am able to recall every scene of this film whenever I go camping and I'm lying alone in my tent shitting myself wishing for a quick death, but then I watch it again and it's dull as fuck.

oh glad someone else also watched it too

It was scary

Are people here going to play the game?
