6 villains in one movie

>6 villains in one movie
Maybe hiring the director from the talking ape movies was a mistake

Attached: IMG_2662.jpg (640x631, 182K)

Six?? What???

It will work since most of them can work as mobster type criminals

The whole “let’s focus on one or two main villains for the entire movie” is a shtick started by the Raimi Spider-Man movies. Looks like Reeves wants to go the Arkham series route with multiple villains appearing while Batman conducts his investigation, which sounds like kino

I wish he goes for a noir approach and present his detective skills.
The burning question, anons
Should Jeremy Iron continue to be Alfred?

Shut up Zoomer. Superman II in 1980 started it

I'm interested most in Firefly and The Mad Hatter. Those will unironically be the hardest to cast. The person who plays Firefly will have to sell the obsession with Fire and maybe be willing to do his own stunts. The person who plays mad hatter has to balance both smarts and insanity and be able to switch rapidly in an instant.

Jared Harris could be good.

The talking ape movies are better than the entire MCU put together so no, I don't think so

I've never read comics. What the fuck does a villain called "Mad Hatter" do?

It will be a detective a film. Reeves already said that, also if it's a trilogy he can have 6 villains. If it's truly a murder mystery lot of those characters can be part of the mafia.

Crazy dude who uses psychedelics to mess with people

Mad Hatter is a technological mastermind who has a psychotic obsession with Alice in Wonderland. These are his abilities: Genius-level intellect
Trained neuroscientist
Utilizes mind-control technology

Rapes girls in an Alice in Wonderland setting.

if its using Long Halloween as reference then makes sense

Black Mask could have been their leader or something like in Arkham Origins.

Catwoman is a love interest, Riddler, Firefly and Mad Hatter work as secondary antagonists/flashback antagonists and that leaves Two Face and The Penguin as primary antagonists.

If they do a Good, Bad and Ugly triple-threat dynamic, with Batman and the two evil mob bosses all fighting with each other, this could be kino as fuck.

I’m on board with multiple villains - ‘too many villains!!’ is a meme - but who aside from Penguin and 2Face work as mobsters? And since this is early in Batman’s career, even Harvey might need a lot of setup

Firefly is going to be a henchman in a full face mask, who delivers a cool action scene before being fucked up by Batman. Mad Hatter, on the other hand, has a lot of potential.

Take this, how about showing how Batman's parents die?

Are we honest to god getting Worlds Greatest Detective Batman?

>who aside from Penguin and 2Face work as mobsters?

Black Mask, The Ventriloquist and Great White Shark.

That's what Reeves said.

>Looks like Reeves wants to go the Arkham series route with multiple villains appearing while Batman conducts his investigation, which sounds like kino
It’s not just Arkham games, this is the template for many of the best Batman stories, from Long Halloween and Dark Victory to Hush to TDKR. I’m very glad that Reeves is doing his own thing rather than just aping Marvel’s shitty formula like Patty Jenkins and James Wan did. Those movies were okay, but it was the most boring possible creative direction and I’m glad to see something substantively different here

Only one, perhaps two will be the “real” villains, with the others serving as action set pieces

>Firefly is going to be a henchman
Since this movie is going the detective route, I'm expecting he will be a bit more involved. I agree with what you say but I also think there will be a scene where Batman talks to him in Arkham or Blackgate(Whichever they decide to choose) that leads us clues. Mad Hatter is a seriously underrated villain. I honestly think, though this wouldn't happen, that Edward Norton would make for a good Mad Hatter.

Is this gonna be a grounded setting like Nolan or fantastical like Marvel

Reeves said he wants it nior like S7ven, so it's grounded.

One of them will be the "real" villain and the others will help him. And Catwoman will change sides

Well god damn im excited for this movie

If this is a reference to us having seen two face’s origin already and not needing to see it again, then I’ll push back a bit and note that Bruce’s relationship with Harvey is the most interesting aspect of the character and that Harvey needs to be fleshed out for the 2face dynamic to have any gravity
Sorry, I meant of those pictured in the OP

>two-face, the penguin, riddler, firefly, catwoman, mad hatter
>villains

Batman Returns also sucks because of its two-villain structure.

Has there ever been a good multi-villain superhero movie?

I think it’ll be about on par tonally with a winter soldier but feel a little more grounded essentially since Batman can’t really do what Cap can. It’ll be the appropriate blend. Nolan was 10% to feel tonally speaking to really be Batman as amazing as they were. I think Reeves is the guy to hit a perfect balance.

hm?

That was a reddit post you made

>Sorry, I meant of those pictured in the OP

Everyone but the Riddler have ties to the mob.

>Matt Reeves
Not saying he's the worst ever, but he does suck ballz.

You listed great movies retard.

>le vague insult man
ok whatever

samefag

Those Apes sequels are garbage and Let Me In is a tepid adaptation of a great movie.

Not saying making this post says you don’t know anything about film or what makes it even remotely compelling but... Wait, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Pleb.

>doesn't know what samefagging is
stop

Yup. This is the idiot who after the fact will claim he always knew The Batman would be good.

I have no problem with that. Just hope the cast is solid. As I see it, most of these will have minor supporting roles to get this whodunit on tracks.

Yes, tons
>Batman Begins: Ra’s, Scarecrow, Falcone, Zsasz, arguably Joe Chill
>The Dark Knight: Joker, Two-Face, Maroni, Scarecrow, subvillains like the dirty cops and various mobsters
>X2: Magneto, Stryker, Lady Deathstrike, Mastermind
>Superman II: Luthor, Zod, Ursa, user
>BvS: Luthor, KGBeast, Doomsday, Batman
>Aquaman: Ocean Master, Black Manta, the trench, Neerus
>DoFP: Trask, Magneto, Mystique, Sentinels
Too many villains is a meme. Most bad capeflicks are movies with one villain like Fant4stic or Dark Phoenix or MCUshit

The main thing will be that Battinson will be the glue that holds it all together.

But who’s playing Robin though?

There are lots of people in the world. I'm sure there will be people on here, after it comes out, claiming that they always knew it would be good, if it turns out well.

Be careful about constructing hypocritical straw men based on a whole population of people, e.g. 'people believe x and y at the same time when that's impossible'. It might just be that some people believe x and other people believe y, but in your head you pretend that it's one person with conflicting views.

Kristen Stewart

>The whole “let’s focus on one or two main villains for the entire movie” is a shtick started by the Raimi Spider-Man movies.
Except Luthor and Zod were in Superman 2 and all the Batman movies but the first had multiple villians

That depends if they will use Dick Grayson or Jason Todd.

>Mad Hatter
FUCKING HYPE

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is better than any capeshit movie

Firefly is a pyromaniac arsonist
Catwoman is a femme fatale cat burglar
Mad Hatter is deranged psycho genius pervert
Riddler is an arrogant sociopathic information broker
You can flatten all their characters and make them mob stooges - or worse, all heads of their own mobs - but these characters work best on their own with maybe a few henchmen at most

Penguin is fine as just a mobster with flair and doesn’t need a backstory, but Two-Face has a lot of history that needs to be incorporated for his character to have any kind of resonance and not just he gimmick tier

Attached: 8721CEC8-D535-4421-8C13-DA7F1FD26755.jpg (729x1096, 54K)

Also Winter Soldier : Batroc, Crossbones, Zola, Winter Soldier and Alexander Pierce

>Mad Hatter is deranged psycho genius pervert
And that's why he's an absolute KINO villain

War for the Planet of the Apes is even better, grand in scope and almost mythological in terms of its themes and grandeur. Easily better than anything I’ve seen in superhero flicks so far

>Yes, tons
>>Batman Begins: Ra’s, Scarecrow
>>The Dark Knight: Joker, Two-Face
>>X2: Magneto, Stryker, Lady Deathstrike, Mastermind

Ok, fair enough, all good examples. I will point out that none of these are multi-villain in the same way as Batman Returns, where you have two disparate villains with different goals.

X2: Magneto and the X-Men are on the same team until the 4th act.
Dark Knight: Same thing with two-face
Batman Begins: Scarecrow is being used by Ra's to destroy Gotham.

So, I agree that '6 villains' is not a death-curse for a movie, but it looks like a red flag to me personally.

Has contrarianism gone too far?

Honestly yes

Still by far the best Catwoman.

They should do a kid Robin

While that would be great, I'm not sure a general audience would.

Imagine if they brought her back for the Oldfleck Batman movie.

>Black Mask
Already ruined in movies. Birds of Prey hired Ewan McGregor and instead of dedicating to a big mask he's wearing like a Kato thing that only wraps around his eye area

How do we know this?

Certainly not great for their writing though.

>You can flatten all their characters and make them mob stooges

I'm not, they just all have ties to the mob.
